If I had 4 mill I would let him bet my money. He is one of the best handicappers in vegas.
he should hire a life consultant, and give him 10% of his profits to stop him from making the stupid bets or get him offline when he is tired.

The guy is a degenerate loser. The saddest part is that he seems proud of this.
He's not proud of it... that's just who he is and thats what makes him tick. He's also one of the most popular players, and most people would like to see him doing well, because they actually like him. You can't say that for the vast majority of poker players, completely lacking in personality. At least he wears his heart on his sleeve... I like him, I think deep down he's a nice guy, and pretty damn generous too, by all accounts.

Mickey Appelman is better. And as far as Mike's popularity goes, he's a terrific poker player, but he's just an accident waiting to happen. Everybody's waiting for the "Matusow blowup." People who watch the reality shows like to watch Mike. Realistically, he should have his own reality show. That's how he could make some money.

Yeah but how much has he won betting football? This is probably the same as the John Daly and Charles Barkley stories earlier in the year. They both claim they lost huge sums of money at casinos but most of the stories didn't report that they were either overall winners or the actual personal losses were much less because they had won so much before.Either way losing 4mil that was "in your pocket" still sucks.

Good thing ESPN gives poker players a good name....
Since they air the WSOP and have done feature pieces on Doyle and some others who are good for the game, I don't think ESPN was doing a disservice to poker. I don't think they'd want to F with their ratings, etc.

MM deserves everything he gets. I loved seeing him bust out of the 2004 WSOP ME. There's no crying in POKER!!!Doing time for getting busted "buying dope for friends"Generally acting like an *** at the table. The only guy I dislike more is Tony G....and yes, many of our Poker "Heroes" are just disasters waiting to happen. They are addicted to the rush of gambling. I believe that LOSING big time is part of the thrill. Not just winning. They are not just poker players, they are gamblers, and need to keep increasing the stakes to get their thrill. So next time you hear of a player risking $25G on a hole of golf, perhaps a player who admits he isn't even very good at golf, think of the motivators that drive that behavior.

Mike Matusow is as good for poker as Rosie O'Donnell is for lesbian sex... Sure the guy wears he heart on his sleeve...but he has absolutely no filter on what is appropriate to say or do in any setting. He needs less people laughing and cheering him on and more people telling him to shut the **** up and act with some class.
