need some conversation. uhh... hmm. I still get paid as much as napadon's secretary, so there's that! that's all I've got.
You ever gonna get another job, or what? And hey, what happened to that babymamma you were bangin'? You know, any of them.My girlfriend went home to NOVA for two weeks as of Sunday, and I'm somewhere between enjoying being on my own again and the other thing. I do have to say that I'm strongly considering writing a song parody titled, "Hello porno my old friend". Oh, crap, I just realized that song is called Sounds of Silence, not...you know. Back to the drawing board!
Based on your income level, I assume you cannot swim.
Well played.

and after 3 days, he is risen!

If you are paying $20 for a haircut, I imagine people assume you did it yourself anyway.

Pocket change cost me my first and only black girlfriend.   It was in the middle of a roaring poker boom and I was flush in ways most men don't even bother dreaming of. Money, it was like dirt to me

Wow, I was looking up old apartment posts and stumbled onto this 3 year 2 month old post. I can't believe we have been going through this process so long. And how we have changed our minds as well since we went Korean. But everything there is mostly true.We do have a son now. His name is Jin. He is goddamn adorable. He was born Oct 2010 but we can't go get him till Jan. though. Korean government stopped doing visa's for the year so we have to wait. He will be what, 14 months old. Still good. Doesn't matter anymore. First steps and all, whatever, this process has been long and grueling and to know that we are in the final stretch and I can sit here at my desk looking at his picture makes the wait worth it. Sadly I am not allowed to post a picture of him online which sucks because if I could you would have seen them back on June 27th when we got the pics. All 12 of them. Now we get to make a video to send him so he can get used to our voices and such. Well now I am rambling. I just thought it interesting when I found that old post.
Very cool. Congrats.
You realize that's not how it works for people who can't swim, right? Someone who can't swim at all will most likely die if they attempt to save someone who's sinking in the middle of a 9 food deep end. It's not like they didn't jump in because they're just not very good swimmers.I'm not saying they aren't jackasses, just that someone who can't swim can't save someone who's drowning. That seems pretty simple.
On June 29, 1983, Chiefs star running back Joe Delaney heard the screams of three young boys sinking fast in a Monroe, La., pond. Delaney couldn't swim, but he dove in anyway. He was able to save one of the boys, but not himself. Delaney died that day with the other two boys.

50/50 for saving versus dying. Odds very few people will brave when there are other people around to possibly take that chance for them (although I'm sure everyone there was looking around, assuming someone else could swim). Also, I'd bet that Delaney was able to save one just by wading into an area that was too deep for the kids. He probably drowned when he actually went in far enough for him to be in over his head (word play!). It's really a sad story.

nah I mean I just got this job. only been here a year so, so a) I haven't been there long enough to think about leaving anyways, and b) I think there's still opportunity to bump the pay up to a more napadon-ish level. thing is though, I really don't have the experience and qualifications to go out asking for a bunch of money anyways. but I've got a review coming up soon so maybe I'll feel em out then. so on that note, maybe some advice from people who've asked for raises before?: part of my plan (other than highlighting my accomplishments [not causing the company to go bankrupt {yet}, no sexual harassment suits {yet}]) is to get some market rates of my position in other companies in the area from friends I have that work at those places, then combine that with the salary.com info that I posted a while back (which is pretty accurate from what I'm hearing so far) to show the discrepancy, and see what they say. that a good idea?oh, and women don't like me. I thought we've covered this?

no it's not.

I know man! ain't it wild?!

Not only that but once you try to help you are subject to the rescuer doctrine. This means if you handle the rescue negligently or give up on the rescue where "a reasonable person would have continued", you can be sued by the drowning victim (or his family if he dies). God bless America.....

TruthJust yesterday on my way home I was waiting to cross a busy street, thinking about T-Bear, and the sign went to 'walk'. I looked left and saw a CTA bus running the red light, hauling ass through the intersection so I waited, but this attractive hipster girl wearing headphones started walking right into the intersection. My attempt to save her was reminiscent of Richie Tenenbaum playing the worst tennis of his life. Luckily the bus honked and she stopped in time.

I don't think anyone has ever not tried to help someone because they thought that they might be sued if they failed. I hope.

And if there's anyone you might have put yourself in danger to save...

Hey, mk, Lefty and all the Chi-Town crowd. My son will be there this weekend with twenty of his closest friends for his bachelor party. If you see him say hi. He's staying downtown and will probably stop by the Lolli-palooza and heading to a Cubs game Friday. I told him to party enough to make beans proud.

I doubt most people know that rule exists and I agree with you.....I'm just pointing out one of the more bizarre parts of our civil legal system.

Ahh, I remember that lecture during my torts class. Many of the women in the class had a hard time grasping it and it turned into a big argument.
