I like the show and enjoy watching it. Seemed that they didn't know at all how to start the story off, and the first episde was terrible, but ever since then I've enjoyed it, and every episode seems to just get better than the previous one.

I agree with the last couple posterd...Smash makes a good point. For those posters that hate the show... why the heck are you wasting your time even talking about? I mean... You don't like the show, so don't watch it... and don't waste your time talking about not liking the show... whats the point? It's all a matter of preferece . it's not like anyone here is right or wrong. It's just a matter of opinion.... like... should you slow play AA under the gun.

I mostly agree with you and Smash. As for what Smash said: I haven't watched it since the first episode, it was that bad to me. I don't post about hating and and then watch it every week.As for Erik, I agree with you, and I don't start I-HATE-TILT threads. It's just sometimes it's so easy to diss on the show when people start glowing threads about loving it.As an aside, I dont' watch hardly any TV these days, and I didn't realize how utterly bad most drama tv shows are. The poor acting and overdramatization got to me in Tilt.

Yeah I did watch it last night, dunno why though. It's so corny but I was bored. I just don't understand the reason why ESPN would pay for the right to the WSOP then make a show depicting every possible bad attribute about poker. Hmm kinda like Playmakers or whatever it was called, only the NFL had the power to put a stop to it. I think next thursday night I'll make better use of my time, although the 2 girls are pretty smokin are make the show a little more watchable.

i think the show has gotten progressively better each and every episode. that said, i think there is still a lot of improvement to be made. most of the poker on the show is usually showing a bad beat, or else the hero has the nuts every time. there aren't too many hard decisions associated with the nuts. the drama is iffy as well.... but the story is progressing and i think the show is entering a new phase after seymour got killed and lowball got fired..... might we see a team of eddie clarke miami, the cop and lowball? we'll have to see

I watched last night and it was the worst I've ever seen.. Even if they were trying to hollywood the days when "the Ant" Spilitro had cheating players and dealers on his payroll at the STARDUST AND HORSESHOE, the things Don Everest does are just stupid and unrealistic... Besides the big games in the 60's-70's were dominated by hi-low stud, stud and the like NOT no- limit Holdem. In fact I can say until ESPN, I never even saw a live no-limit holdem game (except a $200 baby buyin), in thirty years of playing outside of the World Series stuff. Poker 30 years ago was full of violence and cheats--but you won't see anything close to what really happened in Tilt!!

I'm going to have to say I enjoy the show. I know there isn't any of that crap going on these days but it's entertainment. I know in the past however there were some instances of dishonest cardplay and some cardrooms were shutdown but with the mainstream revitalization of poker now a days I can't see ANY legitamate casino allowing such things to happen. I wish they had more cardplaying for sure but I doubt ESPN's target audience is the professional die-hard pokerplayers. ESPN is most likely targetting the new players who happened to jump on the poker-bandwagon who are craving a poker tv series. I can't remember which episode it was but seeing that one guy walk into the table with Eddie and said "There is no such thing as a professional poker player" and proceeds to lose all his money to Eddie who says "He's my ATM". I thought that was great, I laughed my ass off .

I like it.A lot of people seem to complain about how much it sucks after they watch it every week.
Nope, not me. I watched the first one, it sucked, and I haven't watched an episode since.

I liked the episode on last night.Especially when dumbass Eddie gets caught by Madsen, and they whoop the crap out of him. Hilarious fun! That's what cheaters deserve. Even if it is a cheater delivering the beating.

I don't understand the point of this post. Everything you say may be, and probably is true. But at no time ever is it said that the show is supposed to take place in the "60's-70's." In fact, last night they threw out the date of '88 having been a while ago, so we can assume that the show takes place perhaps around present day. So again, not really critisizing or anything, but what happened in the 60's and 70's is completely irrelevant to the show.

i quit reading the posts after this one, and i guarantee most people missed the subtle sarcasm in your statement.and by the way I thought that this week's show really put a spin on things and i am interested in seeing where things go.But as much as i enjoy poker and I do like the actor portraying the matador, it just goes to show that not even a good actor can save bad writing. no matter how cool he is some of the matador's lines are SOOOOOOO BAD hehe but TILT is logged into my DVR and is set not to be deleted until i do so manuallylater

I seen the first 5 episodes and Im not impressed, the whole story is just not for a series, maybe a mini series. And am I the only one that think Michael Madsen is a pain to listen to in that show? Every line he has is some cheesy crap.

Whatever guys, me likey. A buddy and I make it a point to watch it each week. It reminds us of that show "Fast Lane" or whatever it was called... some cheesy far-fetched special agent cop show with young guys who were bad actors, but it was still fun to watch. yeah, that's the phrase to keep in mind: fun to watch. I tend not to analyze the acting and the actual plot line etc. If I FEEL like I am enjoying it, then so be it.

It's definetly present day. Look on the floor after the shattered glass...they're a card player magazine with John Juanda on the cover. It's dated Friday, December 3rd, 2004.cover17-25.jpg

In what other show, ever, can you get beat up by your girlfriends dad and then she feels bad and brings over a "friend". THIS SHOW RULES. Now how do I get my Father-in-law to beat me up :D

I personally like the show, it's entertaining to me and it does remind me of that show Fastlane, which I liked as well :D I don't think the show was ever geared towards being realistic, it's just entertainment and the show I think attracts non poker players as well. Also, keep in mind the demographic it's trying to hit. It's geared mostly towards males in the early 20's, the new breeds who may have just gotten interested in poker and I think it does a good job hitting this target market. It's not for everyone and I think that's quite clear, if you look at the age of the main characters on the show, you'll see who it's geared towards.
