  1. I think it's around 5 % so you need to be getting 20-1 on your call. I highly highly highly doubt it would be a good call for you to try and catch runner-runner.
  2. HAHAHA Sad to say that's me too. Just normal text book starting hands from given positions. No raises from early unless you have Group 1 or Group 2 hands, limp with small-mid pockets and don't be the first person to call a raise unless you have a very good starting hand. Predictable but profitable. Also leads to bluffing pots on the turn from good startin hands. I can't say there is anything wrong with it.
  3. If the answer were there to chose I would bet exactly 650 (the amount that the SB has left). The reason being, and it might seem a little odd to most, but by betting that amount you are telling the BB that you have a hand with enough potential to isolate the SB and possibly knock him out of the tournament. Also by betting 650, It shows the BB that you are pot committed to call if he wanted to put you allin. A7x is a good starting hand in a short-handed game regardless and worth a coinflip if the SB wanted to make a move with lets say KJ,KQ,Ax.
  4. Now im even more confused. Is it:Ing - as in bikING or skiINGor Ang - as in sANG or rANGIf I ever get a chance to hit on here I want to say her name correctly before I get shot down.
  5. I've been playing since last June and I love it. My buddy, whom I work with, came to work one Monday and told me he won $2,000 in Satellites at the casino playing holdem. I've played 5-card draw with friends in a friendly game but never holdem. I asked him how the game was set up. An he used salt and pepper shakers to explain the BB and SB since I just couldn't understand what he was saying. He also explain what starting hands to use and where to play them, so I went to Hollywood Park Casino in LA and bought into a 2-4 game with $100. After playing to 3am, I ran my stack upto $250 and
  6. I'm going to have to say I enjoy the show. I know there isn't any of that crap going on these days but it's entertainment. I know in the past however there were some instances of dishonest cardplay and some cardrooms were shutdown but with the mainstream revitalization of poker now a days I can't see ANY legitamate casino allowing such things to happen. I wish they had more cardplaying for sure but I doubt ESPN's target audience is the professional die-hard pokerplayers. ESPN is most likely targetting the new players who happened to jump on the poker-bandwagon who are craving a poker tv
  7. 38 chips and i would like to know the dead mans hand as well. I think it's Aces and Eight but im not sure why.
  8. I work for a public accounting firm and although I don't do any tax work, we have a full staff here that does. I'll ask them on the issue and keep you posted. I think this is interest of us all especially since we all hope to withdraw 5 digits of profit from online poker.
  9. According to Sklansky's Hold'em Poker for advanced players - A-rag offsuit should only be played from late position in a passive game(Group 8 hand for anyone who has read the book). Definately not from early or mid. If running good for the day I will play A-rag from button/cutoff if there are pot odds to call with NO raises. The worse you can be at anypoint in time is 4.5 to 1 dog. So if there is 4-5 limpers before it hits you (which isn't impossible at .5/1 limits since most aren't that agressive when 1st starting out), you are justified in calling because of pot odds. Now post-flop play
  10. On the topic of SNGs...which sites do you belive has the best SNG formats: PartyPoker, PokerStars, UltimateBet, FullTilt or PacificPoker. First off, I haven't been playing too long online (since Nov.) and I don't have a huge bankroll but I started on Full Tilt and then just recently went to Party Poker and all I can say is wow what a difference. I think Party Poker's format pales in comparison to Full Tilt. Full tilt you get $1500 chips, 9-player table, 10min rounds, hands-played statistics and have a visual handhistory (as opposed to written out). Party Poker had $800 in chips, 10-player
  11. Also the person who is short stacked is most likely to be waiting for a hand to go all-in with. I'm not going to gamble my big stack way with 9-3 offsuit or Q-rag in hopes to out gamble my opponent. My position is protected being one of the chips leaders. Leave it to other short stacks who have to decide when to make a move. However, if you have a playable hand and a short stack is in the blinds, now it is correct to raise and blind him out.
  12. One last thing that needs to be said...Congrats on your wedding and on being a soon to be father.
  13. LOL!!!!I love your little caption - "pokers a lot like sex..." truer words never been told.
  14. The structure for FullTilt is as follows:Play a $4 SnG and you get a $24 token if you cash in 1st place. The $24 Token can get you to the $200 token game in 1 of 2 ways. a. $24 SnG (9 ppl.) which first place gets the $200 token -or- b. $24 Tournament which awards 1-$200 seat to the WSOP satellite seat for every 10 ppl playing. If you get to the final table in the WSOP Satellite you either get a HUGE payout or a trip to the WSOP depending on the number of people playing.
  15. If you noticed they have $24 token SnG on FT as well as $24 tournaments? You can try playing the $24 SnG and purposefully come in 2nd for the cash. I did that once where I sat for a $4 SnG and came in 1st but didn't realized that it payed in tokens. Then I played the $24 - 100 person tournament and made it down to the final table where the top 4 seats went to the $200 token tournament. I lost on purpose in the 5th spot to get the cash because is was not too sure of my skills compared to a $200 field and I had absolutely no bankroll. You can do the samething if you wish but I will tell yo
