NickZepp 0
Didn't Scotty slow roll Barry too at the beginingBarry didn't seem to appreciate it.WOW Scottys rep fell hard and fast during this one.Ahole and hypocrite - berating DeMichelle for celebrating and then doing 10 times worse. For the first half of the episode he was just funny and silly. Basically how you are when you are about drunk. By the end he was so drunk he probably didn't know what he was saying. I remember Gavin Smith the same way on PAD one time against Phil Ivey. CaptainQuint88 0
I really enjoyed this episode because now I see what I am like playing the $4-$8 tables in Atlantic City after drinking Red Bull and Vodka all day.

wakiki 0
Wow, Scotty really showed a negative side of himself. Lindgren seemed to be getting along fine until Scotty turned into a jerk toward the end. Disgraceful. I found myself rooting against him for the first time.I'm curious how someone like Daniel would handle that at the table.
Coyote18 0
What about Layne cheering him on the whole time. Not exactly the performance you want to put your name behind. My only run-in with Scotty was a few days after he had won an invitational tourney at the MGM Grand. He came in a few nights later with a huge stack of $5 chips making sure that he got all the dealers with tips. He went on to throw stacks of chips at the dealers. Now I know that $25 a dealer is nothing to him, but it was the act of doing it that I was impressed with. He also stopped for pictures with absolutely everyone in the room. All of this has completely wiped that good memory out of my head.I see Daniel sitting there with Layne as well. Has he given an opinion on this?
king_tanner 84
I don't know if DeMichelle felt like he had to defend himself because he was on TV or what.I play a 4/8 dealers choice game at my local card room where always at least half the table acts like Scotty does, where the berating is equal towards other players and the dealer. The only thing to do is ignore them because there is no way to reason with them. DeMichelle could have said anything to Scotty and he would still think that he never celebrates after a hand. StrippersNBlow 0
It is an old story but our own DN paid something like 80K for Flack to go to rehab....how is it a guy out of rehab still allowed to drink?...I'm pretty sure that's the case. Maybe he's one of the few that can just drink and stay away from the hard stuff. The only picture I took w/someone at the wsop was shitfaced on the last night with an equally hammered Layne. Seriously genuine and nice guy, my initial impression in the 20 minutes I was around him at least.

Billionaire 0
i have played with scotty before at the cherokee casino in tulsa and he was very friendly and very nice. He actually talked to me for a little while away from the table about a number of topics. All during his time in tulsa i did not see him without a michelob in his hand, so obviously this is a problem. I believe this was just a really really bad night for the guy, as we have all had them for those of us who drink in excess or have ever been to college. I lost respect for him after watching this as you would think it would have been in the back of his mind to respect such a poker legend, he never played with chip a lot i would assume though. Scotty was never part of the big game and it would have been the ultimately best outcome if barry or doyle won. It was a bad night and i am sure scotty feels bad, i wouldnt make judgements on people based on what you see on tv.

It sounds like he's an attention whore making it rain so people will look at him.I don't think any less of Scotty; I only liked Scotty in the first place because he's such a joke. Did he used to seem like a good person to people?
duckie143 0
WOW..When I first heard Scotty won.. I thought good for him and hearing DN's vblog about it..(he didnt mention any thing bad, just he was happy a KNOWN PRO won it and that it was important to him that a known pro wins it the first 4 years or so)Then I saw the episodes. I was a Scotty fan..now.. not at all. and nor will I ever will be unless he comes out and saids he is sorry and he was drunk and he didnt know what he was saying AND that he gets help. The kid I think is a good kid and all respect to E-DOg.and of course his wife. Who doesnt think she is in it JUST for the money. All that bling. What young attractive girl is gonna fall in love with THAT. When the money goes, she is gone.I feel sorry for Scotty. Fake wife and the only true friends he has are drunks and degen gamblers.

What young attractive girl is gonna fall in love with THAT. When the money goes, she is gone.I don't hide the fact that I have a lot of animosity towards women in general, but after she said "that poor kid is so confused" or whatever it was -- like Scotty is just outplaying his twat off or something -- I can really envision myself jamming a toaster up her badger-gnawed battle box and plugging it in. Set it up on FTP and I'll back DeMichelle against him all day long.
JoblessBast 0
ESPN did a great job presenting the tourney as a memorial to Chip Reese. They included Doyle's mini speech, interviews with Chip, other players' thoughts and memories... Lindgren seemed especially touched by the ceremonies at the start of the final table. It really is a shame that it devolved to what the public saw at the end: the complete opposite of what type of player and person Chip was, according to everyone who knew him and has spoken about him.The only solace I can think of taking is that it's partly because of such characters that poker has exploded into what it is today. And having a villain helps run these "reality" shows, which is basically what poker shows are. But when you include the fact that we need as much positivity shined on the game as possible these days... that was nothing but a shame.
thecove 0
I met Scotty only in passing at the 2007 WSOP as I was exiting my tournament and making that long walk through the Rio Convention hallway, I saw him walking toward me on his way in. I yelled, "Wassup Scotty?!" and he replied "What's up baby?" A cool moment, I felt. Then tonight while watching the 2008 HORSE tonight, I too find myself rooting against Scotty even though knew full well he would win. It truly was a bad display and bad form on the table. We've all watched Scotty play on TV and I can't remember a time when I saw Scotty act like this.Could it be that all the emotions from flaming out of last years Main Event coming to a head when he knew his redemption was within grasp? I don't know. But to the point that his antics got to Eric Lindgren, who is normally a even keel guy, is very telling. But can you imagine your worst moment in your career when you are at your lowest being taped and broadcast for all to see and judge? To have this one moment take away all that you have accomplished as far a good will over the years is tough.I was surprised that no penalties or warnings were given from the floor people, especially with the Chip Reese trophy to be awarded to the winner. The game should be run in the spirit of Reese and the way he played the game.I do hope when Scotty sees tonights episodes, he reaches out to DeMichelle and Lindgren personally and offer his apologies then he'll need to get his PR agency to help him win the good will back.I think the most disappointing thing is that the Chip Reese trophy was awarded under these conditions. If anything, Scotty needs to be apologetic about this.

mgils 0
I just got finished with the episodes, and was amazed at how big a douche Scotty was! I'd really like to hear Daniel's opinion, since he seemed happy afterwards that Scotty had won the match. I'm very curious how Daniel could be in the crowd and watching Scotty, and then be happy that he won?And kudos to Lindgren. I really liked his "I'm not on the Scotty train... never was, and never will be" quote. I guess Scotty isn't too well liked by his fellow pros.

I guess Scotty isn't too well liked by his fellow pros.cause lindgren constitutes the entire pro population? it was a bad night for him and very disrespectful for chip but scotty is very well liked by his fellow pros which is why so many turn out to play in the tournaments at cherokee casino in the middle of nowhere oklahoma just cause its his tournament

Billionaire 0
ya that was just disgusting the way scotty was acting :/ .... not happy at all to see that.you are right, it was, i found this on his wikipedia its pretty funny considering what we all saw tonightNguyen earned a second place finish at the 2007 World Series of Poker in the seven card stud high low split eight or better event won by Eli Elezra. Scotty stated after the event that he hadn't played cash games in over two years because he enjoys a friendly environment which is difficult in serious cash games.lol
Loismustdie 0
Anybody can be an ******* once in awhile. Ill timed, but overwhelmingly the stories you hear about him are good ones. I will say this, the worse he got, the more upset and befuddled the other 2 looked and just maybe that helped Scotty win alot of money. Maybe.

Billionaire 0
this is from todd brunson over on two plus twoTodd Brunson writes:Actually we were all drunker than he was..jk..Scotty definetlly got way out of hand. At one point I had his wife help me make him take a smoke break while he got blinded off. That hurt but I knew if we didn't calm him down he was thru.Scotty was under a lot of pressure to win. While he almost always drinks while playing Ive never seen him drink that much either at or away from the table. I also think the time issue cought up with him. The ft went well into the morning and once you start drinking like that you're gonna crash if you stop. It's hard to defend him after the display he put on but Scotty truely is a nice guy and a Gentleman Gambler 99.9% of the time. ESPN just cought him during that .1% when he went freakin crazy. Also ESPN cut out the early parts where that kid kept sucking out on ppl and standing up and taking bows to his cheering friends. This even had Eric upset. In his defense I don't think he knew how unsportsmanlike this was but I'm sure he does now. Anyway, that's what started Scottys tirade.I agree it was bad. Scotty made a terrible mistake here. But just imagine if you had a camera record your worst moment and broadcast it on national TV.
