I watched the broadcast to specifically see how scotty acted and I wasn't let down. I remember watching an exit interview with Demichele and it had me interested...I was pretty surprised by scotty but at times I was basically like, ya...figured.Anyways, I don't know...I'm surprised but you can't really do anything about it now. His reputation is tarnished and if he cares he'll probably do something to try and make up for it, but what exactly that is, I dont know. Maybe make another FT next year and have a touching 3 minute segment. That'll fix all the problems, right? After 'Michele stopped celebrating and what not, I think he handled himself fine. I have a hard time being a nice guy at the table all the time if someone is being ridiculous, and I'll stick up for myself, much like I think he and erick both had to do eventually. With 'Michele mentioning about scotty supposedly being an ambassador of poker and what not, after he is being ripped by him, and then erick basically telling scotty to stfu and just play. Who knows how bad it would have got if scotty wasn't talked to as frankly as he was at the table...you could kinda see him calm down a lil' bit after certain comments, but taht coulda just been the editing.Regardless, I'm sure he is embarrased about how he acted...but if he really does have a drinking problem and doesn't want "help" nothing much will happen except maybe he'll try and not drink so much at a final table.I don't know anything about the guy though, much like everyone else, so I'm trying to not make too many generalizations..b.ut basically, like everyone else...i was pretty much in shock the entire broadcast.- Jordan

Also, anyone know if Layne might have had money on Scotty?
This is only gossip and didn't come from Daniel so I could be wrong. The story I heard from a friend (not Daniel) was that after Layne went from broke to a little bit flush at the WSOP he decided to back Scotty in the $50K Horse. I don't know how much of him he had but it would explain some of his stupid behaviour, along with him being drunk of course.

I heard Layne and Todd had pieces, Layne had a massive piece. My friend at some point celebrated after Mike won a hand and he said Layne went nuts screaming and berating him, calling him all sorts of shit and saying "do you have any idea how much money I make if Scotty wins? None of you should be rooting for anyone cuz none of you are making as much money as I am if scotty wins" I guess then he took out a wad of 100s and started yelling "this is nothing compared to what I'll win here".

Now I'm even more sure Scotty didn't have KK that hand in the 6 max event! In all seriousness, it seems like he's an extremely nice guy when sober, and exactly the opposite when drunk. He really should go to rehab/AA, it will probably improve his poker play as well.I wonder how much more of this public outrage there would have been if someone like Men Nguyen acted like this at the final table of the 50k HORSE and won

This matches with what I have heard (not from Daniel ). That Layne had a massive piece and Scotty had less than half of himself in the tourney.

Like I mentioned before, Scotty has a bad reputation for paying his backers. I doubt anyone is getting anything from him.

Does everyone really think that this was a chip dump by Scotty? In Omaha 8Scotty: Ah Ac 9d 3dLindgren: Qs Qc 8d 4dBoard: 3h 7c Jh JdAt this point, Scotty cannot make a low hand. And his Hi hand is Aces Up and can only improve to a full house with an Ace or J on the river (if his opponent doesn't aready have a J). Also, Scotty has no back up draws either.Meanwhile, his opponent still may have the low draw (which he does) and/or a J for the potential scoop. His opponent can also have a heart draw for a scoop as well. There are also a couple of other draws available (4-5 and 8-9) that can beat him on the river too. Two pair is rarely a winner in Omaha 8.I'm not saying it's not suspicious, it is. Especially with the speech, "I'm going to keep him alive. I'm going to throw that away just for him" which is pretty damning. But I've laid that type of hand down in Omaha 8 to save a couple of bets before.I'm just saying, on the face of the cards, it is not that suspect of a laydown. Now if Scotty had another draw in there and laid it down, it would be an easier call for chip dumping.Besides, Eric Lindgren is not someone you want to double up at that stage in a tourney.

Don't know if it was a chip dump or not. But it looked very suspicious, considering how much Scotty would call down when he was way behind in quite a few hands.

I may have missed something here, but if what Bob and JC are saying is true, what about that crazy Indian Casino that supposedly bought him into all the events at WSOP and then dropped him like a bad habbit after he didn't pay them back and acted ghey?I'm just wondering who actually bought Scotty No into these events.

My take on this is that Scotty read that E.L. thought he had the best hand and Scotty figured that there weren't many hands that he can beat since there is pretty much zero chance that E.L. is bluffing there.

WTF, why is Lon calling him "De-Mikelly"Really annoying imo. (just started watching this, sorry if this has been mentioned.)
It has been mentioned here and gets mentioned in the show. He is of Italian heratige not French so it is pronounced Mickelly. He said he wants to embrace his Italian roots and pronoune it that way.

in all fairness to scotty though, this was 2 months ago, so he may have gone through some sort of rehab/stopped drinking, but you just never know, I am sure he is fully aware that he acted like a complete jackass at tat final table, whether or not he decided to seek help is yet to be seen

Sounds more natural pronounced DeMichelled, imo.Plus that's how I first heard it on the USPC... oh wellz.

Never would have done this if the Soprano's wasnt to best show ever. If it was a French mob show he would have kept it the same.

What's the handicap on this actually happening? I wish every time I screwed up with my family or something, producers would come out and help me poorly explain it away, set to that same "I have Spina Bifida" soundtrack, and then there would be no consequences. Or lingering public stigma. Is there such a thing as jackass rehab where regular people can go to avoid accountability for being total scrots to people in real life?

So no mention in here that DN wants to be Jennifer Tilly for a day? :icon_biggrin:Kind of have to go with Lindgren on this one:"I ain't on Team Scotty...I'll tell you that. Never been. Never will be. How bout that, buddy?"Increased respect for Lindgren. I've actually kind of been impressed with DeMichele since the USPC broadcast even though I knew he came off a little douchey...was glad to see that my read was good.
