slppoker 0
yeah, what the hell. Must have finally realized that their lawsuit is crap and that the WPT does good for poker with their touneys
Alpha1494 0
The lawsuit is pointless, but I must agree with that crew. The final table structure for the WPT is terrible. I hope that eventually changes.

AcesUp46 0
How so?The blinds are terribly high compared to the stacks at the WPT final tables and it seriously becomes an all-in carnival. The recent WPT which Medic won was an aberration.
grocery_mony 8
How so?To what?the average wpt final table lasts about 100 hands. you get more hands in at the average $10 buyin online tourney and have had some heads up where it lasts just about as long as the entire ft at a wpt. So did the HU b/t Chip Reese and Andy Bloch in the HORSE event.
StrippersNBlow 0
Looks like hes dropped outDropped out of the lawsuit perhaps. He's playing though, and plans to play in the future. Way to stick to your convictions Joe. Over/under on how long until the rest start playing?
TheCinciKid 0
Dropped out of the lawsuit perhaps. He's playing though, and plans to play in the future. Way to stick to your convictions Joe. Over/under on how long until the rest start playing? Many of the rest of them haven't played the WPT in like 2 years anyway. I'd guess that Lederer, Duke, Gordon, Andy Bloch at least won't play a WPT event until the lawsuit is settled in some way.
Marchione 0
i was talking with joe back on the 6th of Dec at crown casino and his mind was made up that he was going to start playing WPT events ~Tony G even gave him a hard time about the Suit ~ however it sounds like the WPT is relaxing to issue's that Joe was pissed about

Remember, the main objective of the WPT events is to produce a television show; that is what generates the money for the WPT.From the NFCR's WPT Manual for the 2006 NAPC: "•Blind levels for the Championship Round start at the highest level that equals at least forty (40) big blinds for an average stack."Is that so bad? theresa113 0
I am not surprised. I also wouldn't doubt if Pokerstars influenced the decision to play... I mean, who wants your top named players to not be playing televised events?
Isaacs 0
i might be waaaay off here but my initial impression when i seen Hachems name on the list was that of the crew doing all they could to get the current 'world champion' on board to make their case somehow look stronger. Now that his reign as wsop champ is over Hachem (who was never very vocal about the case in the first place afaik) is glad to be back playing the wpt events.
mcpickl 0
yeah, what the hell. Must have finally realized that their lawsuit is crap and that the WPT does good for poker with their touneysOr it could be that he still agrees with the lawsuit, and believes that the WPT release is unfair, but would like to still play poker on the biggest stage because he's a poker player. So he has to swallow hard and sign the release. Every player involved in the lawsuit knows and has said that the WPT had done great things for poker. They just think their release is ridiculous. Well informed first post bub. Welcome.

I think it's ridiculous that the structure is based on TV time, the structure should be set before the tournament even starts and shouldn't change. There is a story of Erick Lindgren at a WPT final table and they started raising the blinds quicker because the WPT was running out of tape, that's the most retarded shit i've ever heard. If the structure is going to be determined by TV, and the players have to sign away rights to their likeness, the WPT should be paying the rake and providing an overlay, but they most certainly are not. Teffy 0
The wpt also jumps the blinds for the final table, regardless of what level they were at prior to the televised final table.
HarryDemetriou 0
The wpt also jumps the blinds for the final table, regardless of what level they were at prior to the televised final table. Not for me to speak on behalf of Joe Hachem but.....................I asked Joe about this earlier in the week and he said that although a complaint has been filed against the WPT which lodged his and other players objections to the unfairness of the release document that you have to sign when playing he still wanted to play as these were some of only a few events that he could play in. He also stated that he was advised that as long as he stated/lodged his objection to the statement that he had to sign under sufference at the time of signing it would be OK for him to still play without compromising his postiion. No doubt the WPT are happy for a recent WSOP main event champ to play in the event despite the current litigation.

I've seen him play, the guy has serious skills. Also, I like that people still scream "Pass the sugah!" at him at completely random times.
