My fiance and I also have alot of cash lying around the place, and we keep it in seperate places around the house, hidden in the safe, and we put it in 10K bricks and put in a safety deposit box at the bank. Thats the best option for us. We keep some at home to go out with and live on, and when we have enough another brick goes in the bank.Hope that maybe works for you. It's great for us.

Hey Guys,I been working as a designer for 2 years now, and I recently moved from 1 house in Ontario to another.I make about 2400 every 2 weeks, and I'm not comfortable having all my awesome money in a bank.I'd rather it be all over my house because sometimes I do things in the spur of the moment and dont want to drive to a ATM machine, which even though are available at all hours of the night, etc etc..... I hate using them.Anyone have any ideas cuz like, I have 3k on me right now, and I'm just wondering what i should do with it.cheerscaptain amazing

1. Player's bank at the casino.2. Don't carry that much cash with you unless you are on your way to a game.

why not just open an account and use a debit card"debit not credit" to get your chips . When you cash in just get the cash put back on your card.waits for somebody to tell me casinos don't except debit cards :club:
I have 2 Safes (brand:safeguard, one old fashioned and one electrinic keypad for easy opening, probably a 500-750 total expense for both) at home, both bolted to the ground with inch think screws longer than my arm thru the bottom of the safe. Safe number one is where I KNOW they will look and #2 is where they will never look. Will still take them all day to get either out of there. Once u start winnin more though, those "bricks" take up more room than u think...lol (my mouth to god's ear right?) I also have a safe deposit box at my bank near the office for any overflow.

I would definitely look into getting a floor safe (decoy idea is good).Definitely get security to escort you if you have a big win.
This is your answer. AND, NO, I don't let my wife "in" on the money, either. When she starts to ***** about my playing, I flip her a Franklin and she shuts up for a couple weeks.

By the way, I'm new to the city. I grew up in the suburbs and lived there my whole life. A lot of this just might be paranoia about living in a big city for the first time. I dunno.
Living in Philly, just don't keep the money in your car. It doesn't matter if it's hidden in the floor boards, some ***-wipe will sniff it out and you'll be cleaning glass off the front seat the next day. I lived in Philly for 5 years, I know what I'm talking about.

i don't get it. you don't like to carry more than one thousand dollars on you, but...?just get a freekin box like everybody else. most places are around a $50 deposit for a year.both my girlfriend and myself have our BAs in english and she is currently pursuing her MFA. this means we have a twelve foot wide ceiling to floor bookshelf. trying to find where the money is in that would be an exercise in futility. i was keeping my bankroll in the bank for awhile but i do not recommend it (sometimes difficult getting access and that's the last thing you want to be thinking of at the table or on the way to the casino)

I keep mine on my desk in my room. I have one of those coconut banks from Hawaii and thats where I keep it, its only $2.75 tho............seriously though, the floor safe is a good idea along with the box in the casino.

do you seriously think I just made that up?You might have a hard time finding an atm that will give you that much at once (Bellagio has a 3K limit), but that is my daily limit.US Bank in case you are wondering

first of all you must have enough money in a bank account that they offer you a free safe deposit box. if you don't this discussion is pointless.based on your $$ priority1. put the large overflow in the safe deposit box2. keep at least 5k in a concealed floor safe 3. if you aren't comfortable walking around with at least 1-2k in your pocket then you need to stay with online poker and just get an occasional fix at the B&M

i"m sorry if you are playing poker for a living and 1k would devistate your BR. You are leaving yourself open to go broke at any time !!Get a job and let poker supplement your life style!
Uh, re-read his post(s). He already said losing 1k would not devistate his BR. He's just looking for a place to keep his money safe.

I don't care who you are, losing a grand isn't pleasant. It wouldn't devastate my bankroll by any means, but this is what I do and 1k is not something I'd like to lose. I've never claimed to have "boatloads of cash." I've made about 7 grand this week, and I'd prefer to do something with it other than just put it in my wife and I's personal bank account. And if you actually read my post, I played online for the past year, and most of my money was just in my poker accounts, and I cashed out a certain amount weekly into my bank account through neteller.Anyway, I'll have to look into either getting a separate bank account or getting something lined up at the casino. I also find it funny that a couple of you are so okay with losing a grand. I'm fine losing a grand at the poker table. It doesn't really bother me to lose, but I would prefer not to just have a thousand dollars taken from me. Maybe it's just me.
Yes, I know my mind is in the gutter. But this is all I saw as I read this post.

Hey guys, I've been playing poker for a living for almost a year, and my wife and I recently made the move to Philadelphia. I've switched to playing primarily live while my wife attends Temple University. Anyway, to my point. I've had a really good first week playing 20/40. My problem is this: I have a lot of cash in my house, and I don't know what to do with it. The bank, of course, is the obvious option, but I would like to have a pretty good size workable bankroll available to me whenever I need it as I don't always go play during business hours. I really am not comfortable even keeping the 1k that I use to buy in to the 20/40 game. I know the really high cash game players keep boxes in the casinos, but I don't even know if that's an option for me. Anyone know anything about that? Thanks for any information that you can give me.
invest all ur cash and forget poker. very few people make it in poker in the long run. It's kinda like the percentage of high school baseball players that make the major leagues. Its not many.
