who thinks horse should be the main event at the wsop?With out a doubt this game require more skill than any other since it is every other (so you know HORSE is an acronym for holdem, omaha8, razz, stud, stud eight. i think, corrections please. it may not have sutd high) Caro wanted this to the ME event to. Also, i'm asking if this the game to determine who is really the best, not who likes hold'em

You forgot a poll option for those of us who know HORSE and don't "think it sucks," think it should be back in the lineup at the World Series, but think you should leave well enough alone as far as the Main Event goes.

My choice isn't on your poll.HORSE should not be the main event, because it can't be. Go ahead and try. It won't happen. But, I have other reasons to favor a single game event like the current ME. The Main Event's strength is that it is the biggest and most prestigious tourney in the world.HORSE is the tournament that requires the most rounded and complete player. Anyone who wins that tourney gets my serious respect and is undoubtably one of the best players at the World Series. The same cannot be said for the ME winner. We are in a new era of poker and that's just the way it is.I thought Andy Black was going to win the ME, but fickle luck had to get in the way. The poker gods have spoken.

The only problem I see with HORSE being the main event is that it's not very casual-viewer friendly, especially the way that ESPN does the broadcasts.The networks would be afraid that ratings would suffer, and I think they're right. In the Olympics, the decathalon may determine who the best overall athlete is, but the ratings are better for the sprint races.

not for ever. you don't get a football tutorial every time you play. I don't see tutorials on Darts on tv and i have no clue wtf is going on. Once on ESPN 2 i saw competitive sheep hearding, (yes sheep hearding) with no tutorial. HOld em will be VERy main stream soon. Once this goes away omaha will fall into place. Everyone knows stud.

Yes, good point. My post should have read he can obviously play tournament poker. I doubt that his game doesn't translate well to cash games....but he wouldnt be the first tourney specialist either.Damn now I am curious. Thanks blaze.

I think they should start a new game maybe call it DAHOPE(DA-HOPE-E) and it should be for D either Draw high, or Deuce to 7. NL/PL. A would be Ace to 5 Triple Draw either NL/PL .Holdem NL/PL, Omaha PL,Pineapple(Crazy) PL/NL and Omaha eight's or Better PL. Dont know about the main event, but it'd be fun to see a mixed game event in a Non Limit form. If I could have an Ideal WSOP here's what it'd be5-6 Holdem Events5-6 Omaha Events3-4 Omaha 8 events3-4 Stud Limit Events (Including H/L Split) 1 Pot Limt Stud Event(I've seen it grow in populariy) 2 Crazy Pineapple Events 1 A-5 Triple Draw 2 2-7 Triple Draw 2 5 Card Draw High events 1 5 stud event 1 Razz event 1 Pai Gow Poker5-6 Mixed Game events: HORSE, SHOE, DAHOPE, SERF(Stud,Stud8,Razz, Five card stud) a Mixed stud game sounds cool to me. HORSE would be good as the ME, but it'll never happen. While HORSE may show who the best all around player is, I think the Deuce shows the best NL player. While it's easier to win than others in terms of entrance, it is the game where the pros have the biggest edge, IMO, and the field is usually completely comprised of the best in the world. The winner of the 2-7 tourney has played at extremely tough tables the whole time, with none of the dead money like the ME to build your stack.
