I've literally had 4 hands this past week where if I win them, I win the seat (77 vs AK, 99 vs AK, AK vs T4, and QQ vs AJ) and I lost them all. If I hadn't won a seat today (in a tourney where I went 0/3 in flips, but did suck out getting it in 30:70 once) I would probably be slitting my wrists right now.But you're in, and that's what matters...How much did you ultimately shell out? My current plan is to take my initial investment of $1k in W$, play sats to the $650, and every time I go over $1k in W$, I play $175 DSs until I am back under. Granted, this plan works a lot better when I win more than one sat per week, but whatever.Most recommended path is dependent on how much you want to spend and how much effort you are willing to put into going. Left the house at around 11:30am and reached the poker room at around 1:30. We both signed up for 1/2 NL as we had only brought around $300 apiece with us, she was asigned to one table, I was sent to another. Poker was really nothing memorable or worth reporting, I played for about 6 hours and booked a $23 profit all told. Just couldn't get anything to play with at all, when I had big hands preflop I either got no action or missed the flop entirely, most of the time I just had nothing worth playing at all. Casey had much better fortunes, and turned her initial buyin into just under $600 in the same amount of time. We decided to get some dinner at around 8pm, and we planned to leave at around 9 because the dogs had been home all day by themselves. We each got a couple of hot dogs (Nathan's jumbo dogs...mmmmmm) and then wandered over to the pit to burn up Casey's match play coupons that she got in the mail.We went over to the craps area and tried to use the coupons, but were told that they had to be redeemed at the Customer Service counter, couldn't just use them straight out of the mail. We decided to just play for a bit and see what happened, I bought in for $100 and Casey bought in for $40 ($5 minimum table). The timing couldn't have been more perfect, as we jumped on the table just as the dice were getting red hot. Made about $40 on the first shooter, then the second guy rolled for an easy 15 minutes before rolling the dreaded 7. I was betting 6's, 8's, and 5's as well as tipping the dealers by betting two ways on the hard 6 and 8 and everything was hitting (the shooter rolled 3-4 numbers that would pay me in between setting and hitting the point, it was just a stellar run for him). By the time he hit the 7 and crapped out, I was up over $300 in about 30 minutes. We decided that was enough craps to suit us, and went to get the coupons redeemed for some blackjack before we left. We found a $10 min table and Casey played the coupon and a little of her craps winnings (she turned that $40 into about $170) while I bought into the game for $50. My luck was better than hers this time and I booked another $25 win in about 10 minutes. All told, we booked a solid $700 profit between the two of us, and had a great time. The only downside was cleaning up a pretty large quantity of dog shit when we got home at 11:30pm because somebody couldn't hold it anymore. Poor guy... Link to post Share on other sites

Once the bases were loaded, you didn't know whether to cheer because you were one out away from a tied series, or sit down because the Tigers were about to regress back to 2003 form.Need 2 in St. Louis, hopefully Tigers can win in 6. And I'd argue that a 8 BB raise by a medium-large stack that has played maybe 2 hands at the FT would signal that AK is nowhere near a 50% favorite against his range.
