InternetExplorer 2,609
I totally understand not liking the feeling of losing, but the lead up and reaction to it just bothers the hell out of me. Playing the victim after the world’s least contested manager spot is decided essentially by default. If you wanted that position, you should have been looking for more responsibility, not planning out your time so that everything fits perfectly into a 40 hour bucket. A few months ago, she even openly said, “I value my free time” when I suggested she find more to do to get this job.

He just has zero respect for her work ethic or way of solving life issues Yeah pretty much I will walk it back a little and say I would not feel motivated if I had her job. A decent amount of her time is spent scheduling things, or stuffing envelopes. It’s not where she should be in her career, and she knows it. I had a job at least as bad when I started out—months spent typing trade details into a 70s era terminal. I just fed on the rage, rather than watch the clock and wait for weekends. I will insist that he is allowed to be at the closing where he will be wearing a tie and reading glasses. And I will get a "sold" sign to hang around his neck in front of the house, too.

Napa Lite 3,278
I’m thankful for everyone that posts here, regardless of content. Having to work today. Boss came in mad as hell that the Sam’s club didn’t have any iphone 8’s because he was going to replace his wife and (adult) daughter’s phones and get the $300 discount. He waited in line for long time. And now I’m finding some big errors in budget that are mostly my fault. Might get fired after I bring them to his attention. Brvy speed to me. Essay21 2,385
Yeah you made it seem serious. Shit happens on first draft. I’ve seen document drafts that make big mistakes from 500 an hour attorneys. That’s why we review things.

InternetExplorer 2,609
I really enjoy Boulevard’s Kolsch beer. Stayed crazy late to help someone with a spreadsheet. Management basically just would not respond to all my requests to go over this stuff for the last few months, and now we are a few days from the deadline, and suddenly they have time to review my mockups and make feature requests. I felt at least partly responsible for not forcing them to meet and discuss, and this person was going to spend probably twice as long on the stuff without me, so I stuck it out until 9pm. We had not really been reviewing stuff from all these angles, and it makes some of the advisors look extremely bad. Like, wow. I am astounded at the shit one can get away with if you’re 50 and appear to be doing something while nobody’s really watching.
Essay21 2,385
I should have gone to law school. I can’t say for sure, but I suspect in those cases the paralegal made the changes to the form and the attorney never actually looked at it before I saw it because the attorney hates it when the client says he won’t sign until the Bank has reviewed. But still.
