Tiltinagain 973
i just tried to drive a stick. her car is a stick and she's driving tomorrow. in case of emergency she wanted me to have learned before. lets just say it didn't go to well. i was like a retard humping a door knob. made me feel like a real munson. At first I was surprised that you don't already know how to drive a stick shift. Then I got to thinking that the number of people that know how to drive one is probably significantly less than it was 15 or 20 years ago. It hard to find a car with a stick shift now a days. Theraflu 1,035
New Sierra Nevada Beer Camp 12 pack. A mix pack of 4 different beers...a 5.9% IPA, a 8.1% imperial red ale, a 5.6% imperial pilsner, and a 9% oatmeal stout, all for $15 at my local packie. I recommend it highly, both for alcohol content (it's about 20 light beers worth of booze) and the selection of mostly good stuff. I can't say that oatmeal stouts are a great summer beer, but it's a really good stout, as far as those go.Also snagged a couple bombers: Left Hand Wake Up Dead, and imperial russian stout that has shitty reviews, but is really just getting harsh scores because its on the low end of the most popular style among beer drinkers, and the new Stone 16th Anniversary, a double-ipa that is supposed to have a lemony flavor that I haven't tried yet. Stone is top 3 in breweries for me (I think, I haven't updated my personal list in a while). I'm mostly excited that this beer was released about 10 days ago, and my local place is already stocking a beer from California.Whilst writing my beer reviews, one of my friends mentioned what I think might be the best beer rating system no one has utilized yet: Rating beers similar to how gymnastics are rated in the Olympics. Each style of beer gets a starting multiplier, and then the rest of the review is based off of that. So if a brewery puts together the best brown ale, which has a difficulty of 1.5 because I hate the style, but still nails its beer, I can reflect my opinion perfectly. Then, with a beer like the Left Hand imperial stout I'm currently drinking, the difficulty is a 4.0, so even though I might only give it 6's across the board, it would still beat out everything but the best brown ales. I haven't worked out an accurate number system yet, but I think it's something that I want to put some time and effort into. It makes too much sense, to me.Good luck suited. I've utilized the extra down time to my advantage, and turned it into a non-failed marriage so far.One of my friends, the one I drink beers with, offered me a job on his team last night. He works for a bank software type company, and just started a couple months ago. Pay would be mid-to-low 50's, according to him. I believe most of the job would be dealing with banks and their issues/implementation of software stuff. Don't know the quality of benefits, but I assume decent. The catch is that its 70 miles from his house, and about 55 from mine. I currently work 5 minutes away from my home. The supermarket was 6 minutes from my house. I haven't had a real commute of any sort since I was driving to BU for school. It'd be about a 30% raise. I'm not going to interview for it, for a couple different reasons, but god damn it. I'm such a fucking townie. My wife doesn't want to me go for it, so that makes my decision a little easier, but I'm kinda putting a lot of eggs into my "I believe I'll be the head tax collector" in a reasonable amount of time, based on my boss being old, and liking me, and having the ability to recommend me any of the thousands of people he knows with sweet town government gigs.Beer. DJ Vu 176
Is it 55 miles in rush hour traffic? Because if it isn't, a 45 minute or so commute is nothing.
Theraflu 1,035
Is it 55 miles in rush hour traffic? Because if it isn't, a 45 minute or so commute is nothing. It's currently like a 90 minute commute for my friend. We could probably carpool together, and save some gas money that way. My car currently is not suited for that much driving...it's not long for these roads as is. But it would still be at least an hour from when he picks me up. My days would go from 8-4 out of the house to 730-630 out of the house, but I would still have weekends off.

Theraflu 1,035
More of a 9:30-5:30, or whenever people feel like showing up. It's absurdly laid back and relaxed. The intro interview for my friend was done by a good acquaintance, who had his hand down his pants and feet up on the table for the entirety of the interview, whilst his bigger boss was also in the room. The company as a whole sounds like it can't function, but apparently has a shitload of bank contracts, and their parent company is from Israel and basically prints money. It doesn't make any sense from an outsiders perspective.
