oh, by the way, i quit.

Recommended Posts

So I made the executive decision on Sunday to quit online poker for good and always. I'm tired of playing anonymous people on a medium that I can't fully trust, and some of the beats I took over the weekend on Stars and Full Tilt made me come to the conclusion that I don't have any desire to play online poker ever again. Everyone who knows me from these forums knows that I'm a losing online player, always have been and nothing has changed. I'm finally just tired of donating, I can't afford to piss money away playing a video game anymore (and that's really all I'm doing, since I *never* win anything worth writing about). I've deposited and redeposited on the various sites at least 50+ times for anywhere from $50-$200 a pop, and I'm done. I've already torpedoed my Neteller account (changed the passwords and email addresses to arbitrary random data I'll never remember) and dive-bombed my Stars account (same way, kinda convenient for Neteller and Stars how difficult they make it to actually close your accounts) and as soon as my obligation to the FCPFC is complete, I'll be killing that account as well. After the FCPFC is completed I will be a live-only player. Not that many people here would, but please don't offer me stakes, advise, or tell me to get back on the horse after falling off. I have no desire to ever play online poker again in my life. I would ask only this of my friends around here, if you ever see me playing online again (other than my last two FCPFC matches) or talking about redepositing around here, bombard my ass with flames and Gamblers Anonymous contact information. Peace.

Live poker rules anyways. The internet is for ugly people. Beautiful people like us should go out into the world so others may bask in our visage.

Nice to see someone owning up to sucking at poker... very refreshing. I know that this is an addictive mistress though and, I am thinking first week of march, you'll be back. If not, gl with the lvie game.

I'm not trying to offend you or get into a flame war, but honestly if you can't beat the game online, what makes you think you'll have better luck playing live? Are your reading abilities really that good, or is it time for a new hobby?

Honestly...I am willing to bet that most ONLINE players can't beat the live games....Only reason I say that is A)People online are hiding behind their monitors and will give away their stategies live.B) Most online players don' have the access to Real games... (Casino, B&M's) home games don't count.C) Online players will not have the patience for live games... they are used to a 100 hands an hours where as live games maybe 20 hands an hour.... Just sayin, that because everyone can't beat online games does not mean that they suck at poker....Online is a different animal...Anyway to the OP... .GL with live... you will be a better poker player.. most live players are better than online players.

Translation of the above: "Don't feel bad OP, I can't beat the online game either, but I still think I'm good."Seriously, nobody's saying there aren't differences between online and live, but my point is if you consistently lose online, you're probably not going to be a big winner playing live. I never said most online players would play well live. The fact is, the opposite is true, because most online players suck.

If you quit, you better quit both, online and live.If you can't realize what your problems are, you will still be a losing player even playing live games.Quitters are losers.I am not flaming you, anyway good luck.
That's an absolutely ridiculous statement. There are tons of people who are winning players live and losing players online. Some people can be good poker players but have trouble handling beats or play in an online environment, and thus end up losing over time. There's no reason to conclude that someone being a losing player online means they'll be a losing player live.Gl playing live Ajs, and viva la jopke :club:

it's been established that Live players are worse and thus live is easier to beat.no need to respond to this, the threads already exist.it's a fact.stated by a majority of those that play both a lotnot all agree. Then again, some say fold KK preflop to an all in re-raise, so there you go

Limit hold'em is infinitely times easier to beat live than it is online.Be prepared to take more badbeats/hand LIVE because so many players call all the way down to showdown.I play party .50/1 which is arguably the loosest online limit hold'em, and geuss what? 3/6 and 4/8 live players are WORSE.
