speak for yourself, simpleton
This is the response I was looking for.I spend my movie dollars on the big budget action movie spectacles because they are more fun to see on a huge screen with huge sound. I would be willing to pay extra for this experience. I can handle the quiet indie dramas at home on my TV.But, if those movies were offered at a discount ($5?), I would certainly go see more of them. I really like the whole movie-going experience though, so I might be in the minority here.

You misspelled insipid.

We always go on a Saturday or Sunday morning. I prefer matinee costs and a ton of empty seats. Saw MIGP in a full theater for full price and it was a stupid decision. Not worth the $33 it cost.

Hang on here. The indie dramas which get buzz for being great movies would absolutely be part of the "premium" pricing. They have a more limited release, an audience that's more likely to spend a few extra bucks for quality, etc. The movies that would be discounted would be shitty comedies, action flicks with horrible reviews, etc.

I'm not talking about movies like Juno or Slumdog Millionaire; I mean movies like Another Earth ($1m box office gross) or Win/Win ($10m). No way those are getting premium pricing. Take Shelter, The Guard, Meek's Cutoff.

Number of these movies that I have heard of: zero.

You would really like Win Win. Definitely watch it.
With Theraflu this provides me with only two options. Either this movie is really good and I will enjoy it, or it's a porno of some kind and flu is snickering right now.►A man tells a friend that his ex-wife is having sex regularly with a repairman, in the Jacuzzi. ►A man says that a locker room has the good smell of self-abuse. ►An elderly man tells an attorney that nothing is going on between him and his nurse.►During a panic attack suffered by one man, his male friend lies on top of him on the ground to warm him up when two women stop to stare and the scene ends.►A man on a running trail pulls down his tights and points his buttocks at his male friend, and the second man takes a picture. ►A woman appears in two scenes in a low-cut top that reveals moderate cleavage. ►Two high school boy's wrestling teams wear tight spandex singlets.spoiler alert.

I have no idea what's going on with the rest of your post, but it is a really good movie and you will enjoy it.Edit: I mean, I recognize what it is, but still no clue why.

That's very strange. That website is kind of stupid. I understand the point of it, but its certainly not my go-to for a review of a movie. In fact, the only movie I've read on there was for Shame, which I won't be seeing, because one of the Grantland writers kind of dared the reader to. I appreciate that you understand my awful sense of humor, but I'm not going to go around recommending porn to anyone, and then sit here laughing while I hope you check it out complete unaware. I'm still confused.

That's funny, Win/Win was one that I thought of that should have premium pricing. People who go to that movie do so on purpose...that is, they don't decide to go to a movie and then decide to see that one. They say, "Let's go see Win/Win," which would make them more likely to pay a premium.
spoiler alert
I stopped reading after the first line, please tell me that was just a joke review of a trailer or something, not a synopsis of the movie complete with actual spoilers.Maybe I'll see if I can get Primer on demand today. I feel like I've heard good things.

ok. I'll check it out.

I had to make sure that Theraflu wasn't tricking me, and I used that information to confirm.

It's not spoliers, per se. I mean, it's stuff that actually happens in the movie, but it's all very general sex/nudity related stuff that you would only recognize if you had already seen the movie. For instance, this is one that you didn't read: ►A woman appears in two scenes in a low-cut top that reveals moderate cleavage. SPOILER ALERT!

I guess we'll never know!I don't know why I'm yelling.

I liked Primer. Want me to point you to a handy cheat sheet/reference guide so you can almost understand what's going on? And then maybe you can explain it to me?
Take Shelter is amazing and probably particularly relevant to your life, sir.
lolEdit: Here are a couple FCP comments on Primer:
I still don't fully understand Primer after watching it twice; I don't think I am willing to invest any more time to try and understand it.
"Primer" was made on a budget of $7,000 and is probably impossible to understand, but still fascinating, I thought.

Would the Primer primer be better read before or after the primary viewing?

I guess I'll argue about this some more. The point of dynamic pricing isn't about getting the most money from the people who are going to see it, it's pricing it for maximum revenue. That could mean you lower the prices to get more people in the theater. Or it might not. And the theater will always want to maximize ticket sales because they make their money on concessions. Also, some of those crappy comedies you mentioned earlier make a lot of money as is, so I'm not sure those would be the discounted. It's an interesting business decision though, but one that has been taken out of the theaters' hands.

Hey, screw you and your veiled religious bigotry. I just watched the trailer... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5U4TtYpKIcAnd it doesn't appear to be my type of movie. I was stressed out watching the trailer. I'm pretty sure I almost died in the theater watching The Ring.

I promise I wasn't making a religion jab, more the "family man in the middle of nowhere/tornado alley USA" thing.

Pretty great rationalization in the comments section:Would some of you please get off your high horse? Download it for free if you can. If i gave my money to EVERY movie I ever wanted to see, I'd be broke.
two questions:1) Is that movie super scary/horrorish... like The Ring? Or is it something more tame, but suspenseful, like The Happening?2) How many hours a day do you waste your time reading meaningless crap from random comment sections on the internet? It has a 92 on RT and with vu and mk saying it's great, along with a very well made trailer, makes me feel like I need to see it.Did you know MI:GP has a 93 on RT? Amazing.

Oh, I haven't seen it yet. I was just listing the type of movies that I would've seen in the theater if it wasn't so expensive. But I've heard nothing but good things about it. Ebert gave it four stars. I haven't heard any comparisons that would make me think it's like The Ring.I don't actually read the comments very often. It's only when people link me to stuff, I'll usually browse the the first page of comments.Edit: I said Win/Win was great and that I liked Primer. I only laughed at mk's post about Take Shelter because I knew what the movie was about.
