So I bet and get called. Average chip count at the table is $45K.Flop comes 893 rainbow.Everybody checks.Turn is Kd.One person bets the minimum of $200; everybody calls.River is the Jd.Everybody checks.The raiser wins with a pair of jacks.I asked him why he raised $5K with 10J. Now having played these tables for awhile, nobody raises more than $4K unless they have AA, KK, QQ, JJ, AK, AQ, AJ (yes, even AJ) and 10's."I was on the straight."I was confused. I asked him what he meant. He explains; "I needed one more card for the straight." I said I wasn't referring to any post-flop action. I was referring to the extremely high raise for 10J offsuit. Again, "I was on the straight." I guess it makes it perfectly acceptable to raise any connectors. This one doesn't have any conversation except me calling the guy a moron and happened just now. Same table as the above.Guy raises $1,500. 4 callers, myself included, with QA offsuit. Flop comes 10hAhAspades. The raiser goes all in for his stack ($32K) and I immediately call, knowing that if he did have an ace, it was with a low kicker. Everybody folded after me.Turn was a brick.River was a heart. I don't remember which one but it didn't pair the board obviously.Dude had the jack and eight of hearts and wins with a flush. I call and show AA v. his AK I win, but he complains and I quote: "my AK had more outs preflop." Bluefin crazy "HUH?!" hero "Sure AK has 6 outs preflop and AA only has 2" Bluefin crazy Obviously I can barely count all the things wrong with his statement so I do the smart things and get up to have a smoke . I come back to the table 10 minutes later and 3 of the players are still debating which hand had more "outs" preflop.
