I don't mind the 99 fold if you are fairly certain that those big stacks will also put real pressure on the other shortstacks when they pay the blinds. If however, they are the type of big stack that just limp in every hand then it might have been a bad fold as the blinds are only 200 and that would give the shortstacks still several chances to hit a flop for free against the big stacks who will call with weak hands.if the blinds would have been higher already then I would be certain it was a good fold, now it might be good, but a push wouldn't be worse. The aces hands. The first one I wouldn't fold so easily. maybe if you are playing a high buy-in, but in the low buy-in's there are many players who would play it exactly like that but still lose to aces (KT,AQ, TT or 99 with a club draw). I would check/call the turn, or maybe bet 160 again and see what he does, he might smoothcall again. If he just calls again then check/call the river except if another club comes. I often end these type of hands with either 2250 chips or 750 ... a sweet start or 50% of the starting stack which isn't an impossible comeback this early. The second one.Likewise, on a scary board I try to keep the pot small.Or in the low buy-ins reraise BIG before the flop, heck even go all-in. You would certainly get called by KK or QQ. Newbie players are terrified to get bluffed at and will call with a lot more hands like AK,AQ, JJ, TT...And you say they have less than 800 chips left this early in a turbo, that shows even more that they are loose players, so it's almost certain that one of them will call an all-in reraise.

something i noticed during my $1 play. early on, first second level, i'd get AA or KK in early or middle and raise 3x and everyone would fold. Someone else would push with AA and get called by QJs or 88 or something.I wonder if the previous poster is right about players hating to lose to a bluff and more likely to call a huge overbet while folding to a standard raise.Just a thought.

Although I'm sure his NL system would be successful, i don't thing you're going to flop enough sets and flushes before you get blinded out.

I think with 6 people left the guys range is higher than AJ for him to open shove. It will cost you too many chips if you lose. Its all about accumulation and preservation.

I recently started to dabble in these and have found them usefull. More of a training tool of sorts, I've been playing the 20$ tubos and have really been focused on how players start reacting when the sense of urgency kicks in. Decision making ability seems to almost vaporize and studying this has made me a better player and able to target those who feel that sense of urgency whether it be in a cash game or tourney. oh and to fit in...7 of 9 today.

insta fold imo. If the bb is bad enough to fold why leave yourself with 4 antes if they double. calling isn't terrible though.steelers are vastly superior to cowboys
