scottyno 0
I turned 21 a week ago and Im going to Foxwoods tomorrow. I'm probably just going to play some 2-4 limit and maybe a little 1-2 nl and probably bring $200 with me. Any good advice I should know before I go to the casino for the first time? Also, whats a good policy on tipping, $1 for every decent sized pot won?

troyomac 0
Tip at least $1 for every pot you win. Tip the waitress for every drink. Tip the cashier when you cashout. Bring $400 for 1-2 just in case. Have fun, try not to be nervous or intimidated at the table, although it's hard not to be the first time at a casino.
34off 0
everything they said, plus dont be scared..I know its hard but I remember the first time I sat down at a live table was a 2/5 game with 300 dollars..I played 3 hands in 2 hours LOL..AA 2 times, and 77 once ad flopped a set with the 7's..I left with a little over 400 in 3 hands..but my point is..dont be scared, but wth only 200 dollars your options are thin. Playing 2/4 limit with 200 dollars you will be broke..its impossible to beat that game. I would play 1/2 with 200 and push any set made, or 2 pair..but Im a donkey anyway still tryin to figure out how I beat live play but suck online....
GWCGWC 83
If you have any questions about the action, don't be afraid to ask the dealer.Don't try to get the 2/4 LHE table to play razz.If you play 1/2NL, OVERBET THE POT. If there are 6 limpers and you have AA in the BB. Don't think a raise to $12 will get it down to HU. You may have to raise to $27 but it depends on how the table's playing. If you find yourself on a table that isn't playing like the NL play money tables online, get a table change immediately. Don't try to get people to believe you're Asian. That pasty white skin is a sure giveaway. Make sure you wear a yankees baseball cap. Have fun and make some money.Oh, and Troy's tipping advise is spot on. one dollar for small and large pots. umop-apisdn 0
Bring more than $200 to FW - especially if you're traveling from a distance... Nothing worse than being stuck in the middle of the forest without a buy-in.

FoxwoodsPro 0
Just finished a 3 day session myself.. If you are that short rolled my suggestion is bring 2 buy ins for 100 + 20 sngs. (instead of 200 bring 40 more)Pay outs are 500300200play is soft, players are nice and even more + EV if your friends are gonna play with you.2k starting stacks and blinds go up every 15 minutes so its a solid structure.Def the nuts for a first time visit IMOAnd tell teh waitresses you know Jay (the Long Island Iced Tea guy) i used to be a big deal around there.GL

holdinmynutz 0
Hire BG to lurk the tables about an hour before you arrive and then tell him that you will give him 80% of your winnings if he will tell you the 'hot cards' for the night. Easiest money you ever made.
Flushgarden 0
Try to not let your hands shake when you're putting your chips out to bet. Also, 1/2 NL live plays like .05/.10 online.

You may have to raise to $27 but it depends on how the table's playing. If you find yourself on a table that isn't playing like the NL play money tables online, get a table change immediately. This is spot on. A rule I like for my live NL play in cash games, they play about 2-3 times as big as online. No joke, depending on the table, an open-raise in a $1/2NL game can be to about $10-$15. Same goes for the money you bring. $200 is standard for an online buyin at $1/2NL, but you'll probably be short-stacked in a live game. In my experience most people will be sitting with about $500-$600. I've never been to FW so I don't know their max buy-in limits (if any) but I wouldn't bring any less than the max buy-in for the game you're playing (maybe even 2 buy-ins if you get sucked out on). Most important thing is to relax and have fun, and don't get discouraged if you lose. All about the long run baby.

aadams_22 3
Stay Away from the craps and roulette tables!! I disagree with this. You can win decent money by conservatively betting solely red & black or 1st 18 & 2nd 18.

Ive never seen anybody do this, but Ive only played in Alberta.
