Zach6668 513
Why haven't we gotten an update on Bennett? This is insane. Every year he gets a mystery ailment after his best game. And it's always secrecy. Maybe he has some degenerative disease and has to sit out periodically but they got sick of making up injuries.
digitalmonkey 929
He has Lupulitis.
Zach6668 513
There wasn't even a play that looked like he got injured. It's so bizarre. I needed him tomorrow.

doox 15
Any thoughts on Sprong staying up or heading back to juniors? With Farnham going to NJ and Fehr returning soon, I cringe at the idea of Sprong wasting a year of his contract getting 9-10 minutes a game on the 4th line. JR doesn't care about anything but the short-term, so he's probably in favor of keeping him up. I'm of the opinion that he should only stay up if he'll get meaningful minutes to help his development, or if someone like Perron gets traded for some defensive help. Zach6668 513
Ya, I don't give a shit about burning a year. If he's one of the top 12 forwards, he should stay. We're talking a difference of maybe a few million 3 years down the road if he stays, I don't think it's that big of a deal. With Fehr back soon though, we may not need him. 87,71,81,14,72,57,13, 9,19,61,7,16 ... That's 12 forwards probably better than Sprong right now, and definitely 9 better top 9 options, probably even 10 or 11 top 9-forwards.
Zach6668 513
Bennett is back tonight, and Fehr back as early as this weekend. Sprong is at 6 GP so he can play tonight, tomorrow, and Saturday before a decision is made. Then the Pens don't play again until Wednesday, and Fehr should be back, with plenty of F depth in WBS. Farnham and Sprong have nothing to do with one another. Farnham isn't a useful NHL player.
serge 904
Is Rob Rossi a respected Pittsburgh journalist or a Steve Simmons? Just watched a clip of him on sportsnet. He slammed Mike Johnston and he claims that his system is not keeping Crosby happy. He mentioned that Crosby s PPG under Johnston is .37, sample size of about 83 games. The main thing he slammed him for was the PP.
doox 15
He's a journalist, but respected is a reach. He's become a whiny cartoon in the past few years. I prefer Dejan and Josh Yohe.

Zach6668 513
.37? .37 less than his usual? What? Points per game? He has the best PPG in the NHL last season (IIRC), all under Johnston.
doox 15
An interesting read on Reddit, discussing Rossi and one of his articles that called out Mario: https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=3&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CCkQFjACahUKEwidz_Cap-bIAhXGVz4KHW7MCH8&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.reddit.com%2Fr%2Fpenguins%2Fcomments%2F32t60z%2Frob_rossi_needs_to_be_banned_from_covering_the%2F&usg=AFQjCNE6pMoL0EVeFLpxgsRW-OGDvbpwHw

Zach6668 513
53 shots against!? WTF! Ya... didn't really feel like that... score effects had something to do with it once the Pens got up 4-2... they didn't really have a lot of quality scoring chances though, didn't feel like the Pens were being dominated that badly. Dunno.
gruven 530
Ya... didn't really feel like that... score effects had something to do with it once the Pens got up 4-2... they didn't really have a lot of quality scoring chances though, didn't feel like the Pens were being dominated that badly. Dunno. They've got a 'protect a lead' defensive system that allows for long shots from low angles, with a collapsing zone to protect rebounds. Same as last night. Something they're not concerned about.
doox 15
You guys saw this prick? http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nhl-puck-daddy/adult-intercepts-puck-meant-for-young-penguins-fan--video-004827889.html Apparently, he's a douchenozzle named Terry, who is a craps player at the casino in town. From the people I talked to that know him, there's no chance he wasn't proud of himself afterwards. He once faked having brain cancer for the sympathy and free license to get away with more bad behavior at the tables.
digitalmonkey 929
I saw that. What a dick! That's unbelievable to me. Good on the Penguins for giving the kid a couple of pucks and a Crosby jersey. Seriously though, who the **** does that!? I caught a puck at a Wolves game once...gave it to the first kid who came running up to me. Felt much better to do that than keep a Puck.

Zach6668 513
Back in the late aughts, John took me to a Pens game at MSG. I was watching warm up from down by the glass, and Ruslan Fedotenko picked a pick up, looked directly at me, and tossed it over the glass to me. My very first instinct was to look around and see if there were any kids around that I stole it from. Lol. I didn't. I was the only person in a Pens jersey. It's weird that Fedo would think I wanted a puck. I was like what, 23? 24? Lol. Jesus. Has it really been that long? 2008 I think.
