epistemic 0
I used to live in Maryland, and state law there is so strict on online money transfers that you cannot use Neteller. Period. If the state of Maryland makes it virtually impossible for you to create an account with Neteller, what makes anyone think that because they are offshore the Federal government can't enforce it nationally? And who has been able to even deposit via Credit Card for years? This isn't about Credit Cards, it's about totally regulating what happens with our money online. If it passes in the Senate, we're ****ed.
ForRealDD 0
Maybe if poker gets shut down we could flip e-quarters for mobney ? what makes anyone think that because they are offshore the Federal government can't enforce it nationally?Hmm...good point....You could argue that we could pull it out of ATMs with our neteller cards, yet, the american financial institutions would not accept neteller cards in the ATMs......well this is ass-fuckery at it's finest.... Yoda 1
I still don't think it will pass the senate. That is where the real money goes. The bribes will hit the right pockets.. the right lobbyists will do their job. Last time this went before the senate they denied it. Jack Abramoff lead that campaign. Someone will take this one.Enter Calvin Ayre...makes us proud!

You can get a money order and mail it to Neteller. What this law if passed will do is force us ALL to become criminals. And force NONE of us to report the income. As it stands now... pro players should report. They do and the money is taxed. I can still use my pre-paid debt card to deposit. If they force all cards to stop. What's to stop an offshore bank creating their own line of pre-paid cards.I'll play with some off-shore credit card in whatever currency they use, fund my neteller with that currency and play. I didn't read where they said it would be a crime to place the bet.. if it is.. it should only apply to American money. They want to stop cards right? And block sites? Once they block sites they are all over our rights to information and speech. They do that... and they become China. It will NEVER pass. Those sites all offer free games too. Get ready boys... we are the new front lines in the war on prohibition. Your great grand daddy's fought to drink the moonshine.. We are gonna fight to play poker. It's that simple. We won't stop. They will just force us underground. If this passes.. you all better efhin march.

Neteller is used just like paypal.. for more than just gambling. There was a day paypal allowed foreign deposits. So if they say, Americans can't use neteller because you can bet with it. What's to say you can't use your Visa to buy porn? or beer? Who legislates purchases?damn are we at that point!?? god help us.

Uppie_ 0
Sorry for not knowing more, but I see it passed the house has it already passed the senate? If not it we still have a chance to write our senators, and get it failed there. There are very sneaky politcs at work running this vote at the time of the WSOP so a lot of the strong lobbyist are tied up possibly. If this Bill has passed the Senate then there is nothing President Bush can do about it his Veto would be meaningless because they have a 2/3rds majority to override it. And with all the repbulicans voting for it well it is unlikely he is against this bill.

I did miss the point. DAMN!!! I never really looked at it like that. But you know what? There are a ton of fish in Europe. Millions of players here who don't think they are fish. There will be people.joe 6 pack still quits after loosing his money... now.. or later..and uppie.. no still has to go to senate...

With Nov. coming up, the way to help work this is get the right party into office as this won't be up for a vote till after Nov.

With Nov. coming up, the way to help work this is get the right party into office as this won't be up for a vote till after Nov.Check the fourm with the link, but it seems to be both partys pretty much were for it. The Question is do they think this is a push button issue and will make a lot of not people but VOTERS upset, the answer to that is a resounding NO. Comes down to this Most internet gamblers/poker players are in the 18-25 demographic i would assume, I have no data just expernice and strong educated guess, This age group is traditionaly the lowest by far in voter turn out, and is not a swing group of voters. There simply aren't enough of them that vote. Also statement about the elections well only 1/3 the senate is up for election as opposed to the whole House so I can see it seeing the senate floor unless they don't want to pass it and don't let it out of committy. The best way to shoot this down is find out what committy this bill will go to and find out who the sentors are and who the chairmen is and let them know how you feel and really have people from there states let them know how they feel and try to kill it in committy.
