ricker 0
while we're here together..someone help me sum up Big Fish and how it comes together at the end. (not literally)I know I was so flustered because I could not express why it hit me so hard. Was it ther realization that the father was trying to instill certain values in his son and show how wonderful his mother was. Or how parents, while not perfect, when they truly love you, it comes thru. I tend to get angry when a movie makes me sad, flustered that my guard came down.thanks!************It was about the magic of storytelling and how his father instilled values in his son about the value of fantasy. Classic father son moment. The son always thought it was his father telling lies, but it's really about how one man can pass on stories with morals.
Actuary 3
thanks Hobbes and Ricker... that's good stuff.certainly that movie is my "most pleasantly surprised because I"m not a fan of fantasy movies" movie
DonkSlayer 1
My dad told me to go get a drink of water during the dancing part with Jamie Lee Curtis in "True Lies." All I said was "I've already seen it."Did you know that part was originally written for her to take off her top, and she said "no way, it'll be hotter if I don't."?!? WTF?!?!? Mercury69 3
I did think that Bang the A ss Slowly was an emotional experience...But, seriously, I get misty for Casablanca. I also find Blade Runner has some surprsingly tender moments, especially at the end when Rutger Hauer's replicant let's Deckard live, talks to him for a few moments and then releases the dove.
