How come everyone plays higher limits live than they do online? Two reasons.Live players are just stunnningly worse than online players.andLive play is a lot slower, and most people aren't working with a playing bankroll live, they're working with money they can lose and not worry about it.

Online I play 3/6 6-handed and 5/10 or 8/16 10-handed. 1/2 NL for kicks. My online bankroll is about $4500 at the moment. (From a seed of $350, deposited in mid-January)Live I play 10/20 or 2/5 nl. Like Smash said, I don't really have a "live" bankroll. Since I don't get to a casino that often, when I do I'll play with whatever disposable cash I have available. For a 10/20 game that's usually around $1500 but I buy in for $500 and keep the rest in my pocket. -DanHasAPlan(consuming on pstars and fulltilt)

Good Afternoon Guys, I'd like to start of by introducing myself i'm new the forums. I have been reading constantly and can really see this as a good place to talk about my favorite sport. I play NL $200 on Pacific Poker 2 Tables, 1/2 Blinds. I live in Green Bay, WI and I play at the Local Poker Room there about once a week. I play No Limit $200 or $400 2/5 Blinds. I started out playing Limit Poker for about a year and did decent but after I started playing No Limit there was no going back for me. I'm currently working on getting my bankroll up the the $500 buy in status but that should take me a good couple months.
I play at Pacific too occasionally, and you can only play 1 table at a time.

Doubt I'll change anybodies world with this information, but for those who care:I'm currently playing at .5/$1 limit table online. I'm building an exclusive poker bankroll, which I started in November of last year with $17 won in a freeroll. NOTE: initially this was purely a contest of sorts with a friend to see who could build the most out of nothing. The side effect is that it has changed my game and made me appreciate bankroll management. I've sort of become addicted to building the bankroll.Pre-November 2004-- Let's be honest. I was a jackrabbit bouncing around between limits and various games with complete disregard for bankroll management. So I've experiened every level up to 30/60 in live play and tried about everything online. Thank goodness this stage is over for me, and I feel fortunate that I'm not stuck 30 G at this point.

I have played against you on PP at the 15/30 a few times. Wondered if you might be the fish in the tank on some of those occassions. Especially when you capped my flopped A high str8 bets all the way to the riv. Sadly though you sucked out the runner runner boat on me. Was it a tilt day for you, or just a moment of fish food, lol?

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie. I usually play 3-6 and 5-10 online, my live experience usually consists of $20 buy-in 6-8 person tourneys at a friends house. I have played a little 3-6 at the casino though.

never played online except briefly if a friend has to go potty or something. when I'm home I play a morning tourney, 35.00 or 25.00 nl. After the tourney I play in a 5-20 or 2-10 spread limit, if I spend too much I'll go to seattle and play the 200.00 3-5 no limit, all these games are very soft and I do well thanks be to God. when i go to cali I play 20-40 or 40-80 mostly at the commerce and have always done well there, my problems have been with 10-20 pot limit omaha, I've lost lots in that game and only play it rarely. I won my first limit event last week, we made adeal three handed and each took home 6,000.00, big win for me. I thought I had a chance for a second win two days later but came up short and got 15th for 400.00. the buy in was 325.00 so i'll live with it, Rick I think his name is, clonie gowans bofriend won the second limit event, he said it was his first limit win also. We both just missed the points race for a world series seat, we both had 10 points for second the winner had 16 points and wasn't even there for the last two events, bummer, I really thought it was my time but I will get my seat one way or another. where there is a will, there is a way.

There seem to be a lot of posts regarding NL games live. I was just curious as to where you find these games. I have had trouble finding a lot of NL games at casinos.
depends where you live. In days of yore when I had $$$(eight months ago) I'd normally be sitting in 5-10 NL games in AC or the 20-40 games too(stud and HE). Now I sit down at the 2-5 NL tables and the 10-20 HE tables

I play only at the casino or my room. I am limited at the casino to 20-40 with an occasional 30-60 game and the friday night 300 min buy in no limit game. Justin

I play mostly 20/40 live. Despite what others are saying, in california, 2/4 chip blind games play much looser and more aggressive than 2/3 games, 1/3 games, or 1/2 games. This has do to with the physical size of the pot, and it means everything. Play the same game with larger denomination chips and it dries up.Online I generally play 3/6 to 4/8 and $20-50 tournaments. This is because I don't want to deposit a lot of money online. I already got ripped off 1 time at Party for $650 (though they gave me back $300 with an apology). As far as the different styles of different games, I have never played micro, so I can't comment on that. 2/4 to 8/16 in california all play very loose, with 2/4 being passive, 3/6 and 6/12 being average, and 4/8 and 8/16 being very aggressive, often capped multiway pots. The game gets much tighter at the 10/20 level. That's when the players start to get better. 15/30 and 20/40 have better players with some maniacs mixed in to make a much different game. You have to pay attention to who is in a hand, because even if the capper caps with any 2 suited, there may be someone who only calls 2 cold with premium hands and you know your 99 is no good.

You would be correct, sir. :)Were you there or hear about the kid that laid down pocket aces pre flop in the 300 min game? A couple hands before he saw them get cracked for about 3 grand or so. So when someone pushed all in before him, He held them up, and announced his fold for everyone to see. The kid that pushed all in said THANKS and turned over kings. :)Justin

Stud hi/lo Pstars- .50/1.00 or .25/.50 (depends on the tables available and who is playing)NLHE and LHE- Mainly sit and gos, $5.00 or $10.00. If you see me play on a cash games it will be a $1.00 or less. I mainly play because either FCP members are playing or I am trying to get my bonus/points, etc. I really suck.Omaha hi/lo on occasion. Usually .05/.10 or .25/.50 if I am feeling brave.Live- NLHE $22.00 tournament with rebuys for first hour, $10.00 10 tops, cash game $30.00 buy in and $1.00 blinds. I try to avoid the cash game because all I do is give my money away. It starts late, I am exhausted, everyone is drunk and I have no clue how to beat 3 9 offsuit.

recently, i've become addicted to omaha hi lo. in a casino, i play $5-$10 with a full kill. online i look for a table that has 6 plus players seeing the flop. i'll join any table up to 10-20 that has that many people seeing the flop.

Well, I live in Canada so I don't know any places that are licensed for NL.
Canada's kind of a big place. If you happen to be a left-coaster, River Rock casino - near Vancouver (BC) - pretty much always has a no limit table running (blinds are 3/6); sometimes as many as 3 on Friday or Saturday nights. Plus all the tournaments are no limit.

Well, I live in Saskatchewan an there's not any no limit here. Although Casino Regina has a lot of big games. They have a 50-100 game there. They're also having a big tournament in June or July where theyre trying to have a $1 million prize pool, although I highly doubt that will happen with a $1000 buyin. I would love to play NL cash games live but the travel expenses just don't make sense for the level I play at. Besides there are games that go up to $25-$50 online so I'm happy staying at home.
