TheCinciKid 0
I'm only on page 1 but LOL @ those of you saying losing 2 grand is a gambling problem and how much he sucks at poker. I wonder how many players in this thread have lost more? And LOL @ you youngsters acting like the marriage is over cause "gasp, he didn't tell the wifie about playing some cards". That is all.Edit: Now that I am through all pages......sack up........tell the wife........learn bankroll management. End of story.I don't think that most people who said he has a gambling problem were referring to the fact that he lost 2 grand (and I KNOW I wasn't). It's about the fact that this dude was 1) playing with money that wasn't really his to gamble with in the first place. It would be one thing if he's using disposable income (entertainment money) to play a little poker. It's another to take money out of a joint school savings account behind your wife's back. 2) He'd lose his deposit (or most of it) then redeposit and gamble to try to win back the money he lost. When you're gambling to try to win back money you lost gambling, imo, that's the sign of a problem. Whether it's $5 or $50K, it's a problem when you're trying to cover gambling debts by gambling some more. That's where I see the OP having a problem. It has nothing to do with amount of money and everything to do with the surrounding circumstances.

mtdesmoines 3
It must not have gone well.I was just gonna post, "He's dead." Anyone know where he was from? We could google the local newspapers for his obit and post it and move on. Regardless, I feel the need for closure. This is definitely anticlimactic.Kind of funny to think she could even control him at work.

Pocket Treys 0
The last time he was on was yesterday at 2:22 PM and his blog has been disabled. I think either1) He's deador 2) He told his wife, started crying and begging for forgiveness and showed her the blog and everything else, and she probably said "it's me or gambling, period"I had the exact same situation a couple of years ago and I was in the doghouse for several monthes...but now my wife is totally fine when i go to the casinos usually about twice a month. I just don't play a whole hell of a lot of online poker since that is where i seem to lose and I usually clean up in live play.
KramitDaToad 0
I'm confused about one thing.OP has been playing for 2 years and his wife didn't know? What did he tell her he was doing? BudBundy 0
It is fascinating how "be a man" is the right and suitable answer to most of the problems.Be a man and accept your mistake , take responsibility , work your ass out and pay your debt , don't repeat your mistake and work really really hard to be nice to your wife and never do anything to dissapoint her again.Because if she doesn't leave you after this , she must be really in love with you. No women ever considers a future and having kids with a man who steals from their education fund and loses it gambling , 4 times.

StilettoNole 0
OK, here it is. This was not a joke, as badly as I wanted it to be. I did come clean with the wife, and she took it as well as you could expect. She did know that I was playing poker quite a bit, she just didn't know that I was redepositing so much and so often (or playing so high) . She is not leaving me, or anything like that. She is awesome and she does really love me.I have talked it over with her (as well as my dad and two close friends) and I am canceling my Vegas trip and quitting poker. Weather I quit for good or just for a period is yet to be determined. I have already contacted a gamblers anonymous group and will be meeting there to figure out why I got so over my head. I feel as though I can say with certainty that currently I am addicted to gambling. I feel this way because obv I couldn't stop and I had to lie about it to everyone, esp my wife. Even to my really good friend, who makes a living live (and we talk about hands at least three times a week), didn't know how in deep I was. Weather I am done playing poker forever or until I can get this under control remains to be seen. Thank you to those of you who offered solid advice... I feel like coming to terms with this is the best thing for me and my wife. I deleted my blog because, well, I had no use for it and it just is a reminder of my addiction.I have enjoyed posting in this community and I will miss it. Hopefully one day I can get control over this and learn responsible gambling and poker (read: bankroll management!). But until that day, I wont be posting.

Acid_Knight 2
Good luck sir.You can probably keep reading forums and stuff if you like since you'll still be learning without playing and it will leave you somewhat connected to the poker community if you like. But really, best of luck
