Ex_Matt 0
Theres nothing sadder than a man who is scared enough of his wife that he appeals to the online community, looking for a way to weasel out of it.You want my advice?? HU4ROLZ

Poker Addict 0
The problem is she (for pretty valid reasons) will not want me to play poker anymore. And that makes me sad....It would make me more sad to lose my testicles. But that's just me.Seriously though, it does sound like you have played outside of your roll. If you can start with $100 and grind it back up, that is the way to do it.
Balloon guy 158
If you are losing this much than the first thing you should do is stop chatting during tournaments.
custom36 4
I think, no, I know that I am going to come clean after work today and just tel here everything. Maybe she'll let me keep like $100 in the account and I can grind it to make to the bonus, but we'll just have to see about that.Good.Don't go behind her back anymore. And, if you're a losing player, don't deposit $500 to play with. $100 is fine until you learn the ropes. Invest in a book or two. Join the strategy section. There's no reason to lose $1300 and think that "eventually" you'll become a winning player.I can even help you with your game, if you want.
SlapStick 0
So where it stands is that I have $650 in my account and about $300 in cash. So its not all that bad. The bummer is that I want to keep playing, especially to clear my bonus! .Has it crossed your mind while clearing your bonus you can lose the rest of it? Thats why you have to earn the bonus, so losing players keep depositing to get it back.Tell your wife everything and let her call the shots. You secretly took out 2k. But you don't have any sort of problem, you're fine. Good luck in vegas
BaseJester 1
You lost a thousand some dollars playing poker. Meanwhile, your wife spent a thousand dollars on shoes and scented candles. Telling her is the right thing. Don't be a pansy.

Poker Addict 0
Playing to clear your bonus is like putting $20 in the video poker machine to get a free drink. The redepositing to get the second free drink. You get the idea. And yes!!! There are much better things to spend that kind of cash on imo to help you win.
serge 904
whats the big deal if you lose $2000 playing poker in two years...Do you think people that have other hobbies dont spend more?Ask a recreational golfer how much money he spends on golf over the year? You could have a lot worse habits, that cost a lot more money..I say buy her a nice expensive handbag and some nice shoes with the remaining of the money, and deposit another $

fornicator1 0
Well 1350 in 2 years is not a gambling problem imo unless of course its stopping you from paying bills etc.I have friends who race motocross, golf, or just go out to bars all the time and poker is cheaper and safer than all those hobbies imho

StilettoNole 0
well at least he didnt lie to the wife and had sex with the 19 year old neighbour..Yeah, this is the worst thing I have done in our marriage. And to be clear, she called and said we are missing $2000 in the account, can you call your dad and look into it, and I just said that I would because I was at work and didn't have time to come clean right then. That was three hours ago and I am still at work and I plan on coming clean tonight. So its not like I have lied about it a billion times over... I secretly took out the money hoping to to build a bankroll... after going busto, I thought I could get back... obv I haven't done that. As far as posting it, I just need to hear people tell me to come clean. I was planning on doing it, it was just nice to hear it from others.
Snamuh 0
This is why I deposited twice. And yes, no matter how hard I try, I keep playing outside my roll.Dude quit poker. Whenever I hear about someone trying to win back their losses, it's clear they have a compulsive gambling problem. If you can't play in your roll, then don't play. You are a losing player. Get it into your head. You aren't going to be a winning player by depositing 500.00 and clearing a bonus at low to mid stakes. If you can't do this, then just quit poker. BTW it's incredibly shady that you have to hide poker from your wife. Doesn't that help you come to a realization that you aren't as good at poker as you thought and that you aren't going about it that right way? If you can't accept all this and come clean to your wife, then you really don't deserve her trust.

It's the shadiness of having to hide a secret account from your wife. It's also the theory that "if I keep playing, I can win it back."

I was planning on doing it, it was just nice to hear it from others.Playing to win back money you've lost is the best way to keep losing money. Play for the love of the game, the love of competition, or to improve your game. There are a lot of people on here who see $2000 and freak out. It's less than $100 a month. But, seriously, don't deposit more than $100 until you can break even or start winning at lower stake games.
Snamuh 0
And dude, this is one of the worst played hands I've seen. This is like ultimate fishiness. GET BETTER.http://www.cardrunners.com/members/display...221422895%22%3B
SilentButDeadly3 0
Here's a question, if poker is really just a hobby and it's not a problem, why can't you cash out like $500, put it back in your account, and keep like $150 or less in your account and play with that? It's obvious, over a 2 year span, that you're a losing player. It's not like that's a small sample size. Note, I'm not saying you suck or can't beat the micros or anything, but the facts remain that you're a losing player. Whether that means you go on tilt and as a result you do the following or you just play above your bankroll and subsequently run bad, (to which you mentioned you played above your bankroll previously). A big part of being a winning player is having these x-factors (such playing within your means, not being a degen for -EV games, etc.). The best players aren't always the biggest winners and it's those that have these x-factors that end up being the biggest winners.Judging by your previous stats, it's only a matter of time before you lose that $650, so why not just cash out $500 and drop in stakes and play micros that you can probably beat? I know it sucks, but you've proven by taking money out of BOTH of your college funds that you thought your "hobby" was more important than BOTH of your college funds. And trust me, I don't think she's going to like that. However, if you show you're taking steps to fix the problem, it just might save your coveted Las Vegas trip. But it might not, just pray that she's merciful.Good Luck OP, hope everything ends well.
StilettoNole 0
But, seriously, don't deposit more than $100 until you can break even or start winning at lower stake games. The thing is, I can and have won money at lower stakes. Its just that I have taken "shots" at much higher games and lose $200-$300 in one sitting. For example, one time I had won three buy ins at 25 NL and was felling good. I fired up two tables of 1/2 and proceeded to lose both buy ins ($400) in like 50 hands (not joke, swear to God... the two hands were aces cracked all in on the flop by a set and a king high flush to an ace high flush). And good bye 4/5 of my initial $500. So then, I go back to grinding, build my $175 to like $350 and then "take a shot" at .5/1 and proceed to lose $200. Repeat and go busto. That is the problem.
