Actually, Oprah is very smart, way smarter than most of us.I apalogise to OP, I misunderstood the thread title. I thought OP was refering to the Oparah or however you spell it. You know, the one where people prance around in tights and sing extremely high and annoying notes. That's why I thought the thread was stupid.I agree that an appearance of a pro poker player on OPRAH would be very good for the game. I respect the woman alot as she has alot of influence in the world and does good for it as well. Just a few years ago she opened a school for young girls in my home country of South Africa. I watch her show quite alot actually for a 15 year old and I like the issues she tackles. Oprah will tackle the issue if poker eventually and soon enough pros will be appearing on her show, I'm 100% sure of this. Poker is to big in your guys' country for it to go unnoticed by a talk show queen.Sorry again OP, I need to get my eyes checked. :club:
Bwahahaha at both posts.lolollolol @ Sick boy's obv real and genuine mistake.

Oprah isn't smart at all. She hasn't had a decent show without the entire crowd screaming and whatever not. She only has 1 view at things and won't ever invite guests that aren't with her as in the same views of government/earth etc
I'm no Oprah worshipper, but I do respect what she has accomplished and admire her efforts to "do the right thing" by using her power to make the world a better place. If I had that much power, I would also be very careful about with whom I shared it. I wouldn't be sharing my influence and media platform with people whose views I oppose. I also wouldn't be turning my show into one of those confrontational shows where people spout their opinions and stick with their constiuency's "party line" regardless of what anyone else says. Those shows do little, if anything, to further an understanding of the topic. They simply spur the passions of the already committed. At least Oprah tries to build things and improve things and encourage people to think for themselves. That's more than a lot of TV pundits do.Finally, I have said all along that the PPA (and others interested in promoting legalized poker playing) should pay less attention to the "18 year old boys" and more attention to people over 30. We more mature folks control a lot the county's wealth -- and most of the votes in an election. The "faces of poker" used to sell the idea of online poker should include plenty of middle-aged women, Moms, Dads, grandparents, etc. -- people with whom the voters feel comfortable, people who are respected and trusted -- not people commonly associated with irresponsible, illegal, or high-risk behavior of any kind -- people who watch Oprah.

Well one things for sure, if there ever is a poker player scheduled to be on Oprah, then I'm sure Bob will let us know.True story: I did an event that Oprah attended, she acted like a self important billionairess hollywood person with a Hillary complex. That's what the caterer said anyway. So I guess the real question is when will there be a poker player on The View?
