  1. if you were too take ONLY 3rds in those then yes you would be loser even at a 40% win rate. If you can consistently win at 40% atleast 2 outtta 10 SnG's (so half of your wins) would have to be 1st's or 2nds to show profit. Sng's are a great way to make $$ but you gotta take the gold medal to really take advantage of them. Yes the 10% juice sucks. Where do you play at? I dont play at Stars but I was told that their $5 sng's are 20% juice (5+1) that is ridiculous. This will hurt you too.Keep plugging away though man. Don't get discouraged and you'll get better and will turn those 3rds into wins.
  2. I dont know if this is 100% rght, but it seems like they do MORE often after a semi bluff OR a full on balls out bluff.I don't know though, it would seem like these guys would have a gret memory and not need the look back to remember what their cards were.Next time when wathching see if it is just random for some players or they do it in certain situations, like the one above. If it is the latter then try to notice what their body language and betting pattern is like during the hand. Maybe you'll pickl up something.
  3. yeah he calls it "small ball." I think it is a smart way to play at times, especially early in a tourney. Too many times ppl are trying to bust people or overplay their hands when there is small blinds and plenty of play left in a tourney. But we all know what can happen when we slowplay or try to trap. :?
  4. I missed like 5 days here, but it seems with all the "issues" that occured in the past couple of weeks, that Smash has decided to no longer post here. I heard he has a Blog somewhere, but I dont know the address.Maybe someone could help clarify things. Thanks
  5. Does UB support it well? Thanks for the quick notes, honestly I hadn't heard abouit the program until joining this iste.
  6. What is your guys' opinion on PokerTracker? (basic)Just briefly is it worth the download?
  7. UB had one of those once with a 2k buy in and I was thinking that it wasn't going to be close and it ended being like 1.35 million or something. I would be sweating a bit too if I were them, even though 250k or so to lose for them is a lot right off it isn't too big in the grand scheme of things, especially if many people keep their $$ in their accoutns so the can make intrest on it.I think it is a crappy buy in personally. I mean 10% on a $400 tourney is steep. Should be something like $30 "vig" IMHO. I know 10 bux isn't a huge amount to save but it would add up for hte players to save overal
  8. It is a good structure for some play, not a crap shoot IMO. I find that you don't need to try and build a stack as quickly as before. Blinds go up every 12 minutes. Most of the regular SnG's last anywhere from an hour to an hour and forty five minutes.UB does have "Turbo" SnG's that make the blinds go up every 5 minutes. This can be a better scenario if you don't mind a bit faster play. I find in these that players are trying to hit hands quicker b/c of the structure, but I still wait for the level to get up a bit before worrying about the blinds, this works pretty good for me b/c it seems lik
  9. It is amazing how many ppl on this forum have made Royal's in the past few months. I mean reading this thread there must be atleast 40-50 hit in the last 6 months from ppl on this forum. WOW 8) I think it is all luck in hitting them obviously, but the law of averages says that since I have never hit one in all my hours of play that someone will have for me, just like many other ppl in the poker world. So having someone play as long as Hellmuth and only make 2 is not that strange in the grand scheme of things. As a side note I have made 3 sets of Quads the last 2 nights of playing. Weird IMO. A
  10. Anyone want to swap me $5.50 from UB onto FullTilt for me so I can play? :? Meaning I'll give you $5.50 on UB and you give me $5.50 on FullTilt. You know a transfer of funds (last time I asked no one seemed to understand). Atleast I'll donate to the tourney fund. 8)
  11. INTENIONAL (important part) holding back a call or a showdown to make your opponent think they have the best hand. IMHO I think Daniel was taking a moment to think about the situation and his odds along with his read. You must remember this is POST flop where 2 pair is possible especially HU. I honestly believe DN figured he had the best but did not want to make a mistake that would cost him the tourney if he thought called instantly. Again you would have to ask DN if his read was that David had nothing and his Aces where 100% the best hand.
  12. WOW I stand corrected, WIllamson is a bit lesser known so I hadn't heard much about him in my time, VERY interesting.
  13. I musta missed the conversation about annie getting a boob job.The Willamson one has to be a fake IMO.
  14. Yeah middle "wrap" hands are very dangerous, it is ahrd to make the nuts with these type of hands. Good point.
  15. I didnb't see this episode, and really only saw about 1.5 hours all season. Who won HU? I saw the 2 different chip dumps to Eddie (Miami and his Dad), and saw Williams get his AA cracked. (Funny side note here, my wife thought this was a "real" tournament, and I told her I bet a backrub that a King will come on the river, she said sure and you know the rest, that one was TOO easy to pick out).
  16. The basic premise in Omaha Hi/Lo is to scoop the pot. To do this you need a hand that can make a great low with the high posiblity of a good straight or flush. MANY newbs will play A2xx and play crazy with it preflop (mostly in PL) and then either lose a lot of $$ or get 1/2 of the low only. I like to have my Ace suited with one of the low cards.I don't know any real %'s but I am certain that a low occurs around 1/2 the time. (I could be off here tho)Look or hands that are great for a h/l possible scoop, and of you can get in a cheap flop with a high only hand go for it. (except for obvious ex
  17. How did that "shit" make it passed the "censored" response that comes up when yu even say pi$$ed. LOLSo we can say "shit" now? Maybe it is the fact that it is "holy," like okayed by the man upstairs that makes it OK. If that is the case then "holy shit dude that is cool. In my best Beavis and Butthead impersonation "Sweet, that rocks!"LOL 8)
  18. Well next week there is another "new" show, and some blond hair guy with a tan is on it, atleast from what I saw on the previews. I bet my house that he wins that, I am TOTALLY guessing though. My wife thinks hes cute and she told me so. Umm yeah, see that tourney was played about 6 months ago. If you wanna see the results of any poker tourney (which may spoil the show for you) the goto pokerpages.com.
  19. Watch the movie "The Door in the Floor," or look it up on some site that shows the "nudie" parts of movies. Mimi is a MILF if I'd ever seen one. lolbtw Kim Basinger is "in" that one too
  20. I would like to see a screen shot of a situation like this. I have never seen it, but we all have heard stories. So any screen shots please post em.
  21. This is a true story one late one night on UB 100 n/l table.player 1: :clubsa: :diamondsk: player 2: :spadesq: :heartsq: player 3: :diamondsa: :heartsa: player 4: :spadesk: :heartsk: player 5 me in (BB): :spades4: :hearts7: this is all by position NOT each player in a rowSmall raise up front (1), call (2), raise (3), call (4), call (me)(1) All-IN, (2) ALL-IN, (3) ALL-IN, (4) ALL-IN, (me) ALL-IN (I said I was drunk remember)Flop :diamonds7: :clubs7: :clubs4: Turn :spades2: River :clubs3: I get rich now and bic*hed out by all the players. :green:  8)
  22. Yeah even though you have pot odds to make the preflop call, it is still 1/10 of your stack. then you get sucked in post flop for the same thinking that it is only 2300 more into a pot of 5000. yet this is another 1/5 of your original stack. so basically you are putting in a 1/3 of your stack in this one hand with QJ of hearts, seems like too much for a marginal hand IMHO.
  23. I am just going by Skalansky is all.You may lose the 1 bet here but if you continue this trend of raising with this hand then you'll win more in the long run.
  24. I would still think the correct play would be to raise preflop. Now they blinds may or may not call and the other limpers may think abot folding. I dunno that the dueces would fold for one more bet though. I still think you should raise b/c if they do all stay in the pot and you DO hit the set then the pot is much bigger. However if you don't flop the set and the dueces lead out (assuming the blind fold) then you can simply call one bet for another card if you think your behind.I think both plays work depending on your style and the play of the table. I find with loose tables you make them pay
  25. I am pretty sure that Skalansky has some kind of reading on it. I heard that somewhere before. try 2+2 and search the books section.
