  1. I haven't watched the movie in a couple of years and I just started playing 6 months ago so forgive me if this is an ignorant question, but that's why I am asking it. In the beginning of the movie he lost 30K trying to build a roll to play in the WSOP. Now that I play I know the buy in is 10K. Am I missing something becuase when I originally watched the movie I thought the buy in must be 50 or 100k. If he already has 30, why couldn't he have just taken a shot with that? Thanks
  2. I have watched the WPT Paris for the last two seasons and the dealers always deal the cards differently than the other tourneys. They don't really pick up the cards and toss they just deal off the top with one or two fingers. I know it may be a stupid question, but is this just a Paris thing or is this common practice in Europe? It looks like it would be harder to cheat dealing like this.
  3. I was reading Phil Helmuth's book and he was saying one goal of making the final 3 is to make a deal and play for the braclet. My question is how is the deal made? Do they tell the tournament director? Do they do it on a handshake? Does one person get first prize and they split it, but how would that work for taxes?Any help would be appreciated.
  4. I am new to this forum and this may be a stupid question but here goes: I saw Phil Ivey reraise someone on the turn of a big hand and his opponent folded and the hand was over, but Phil did a last look at his hand before he mucked. I have seen this before also on TV.What is the reasoning? Thanks for answering.
