why fold face up ? i sure as hell wouldn't want anyone knowing i could be pushed off something that strong when put to the test.

i think there were 9 out of 18 players left. top 5 get tokens and 6th gets a 14 bucks. at the time really only 4 people had chips, her, me, the push monkey, and one other guy everyone else was either crippled or needed to move soon or get blinded off. funny thing was she made the call, the aces held up vs AQ sooted and i got sandwiched between two monster stacks and basically had to fold for the rest of the tournament. i think ive played 4 of these cheapy satellites on tilt and ive gotten a token each time. i play a little loose to start try to double up once then hunker down into ultra nit mo

i was playing in an 8.80 tier 1 satellite on FT last night and FT pro chris klecz was on my left. she had a comfortable amount of chips to make top 5 for the token. she raised on the button and the SB moved in and he could cripple her. i'm not saying she was going to fold her aces but there was that little click hitch in her response before she made the call. i just thought it was interesting since i'd never seen it come up.

i fold it but i also add A8-A10 to copernicus's push range. M~10 just means your fuel light is blinking not that your running on empty. fold that jack high and wait a little longer.

squeezing pre-flop with a shove is an option. i'm not sure its a great option since straight forward ABC poker crushes micro stakes. the only time i try the "call with nothing to outplay my opponent on the flop" is heads up in position. from what ive seen of the 20 dollar 45 mans on full tilt i thikn those are the way to go. maybe i've been lucky but cashing in a 45 man seems only a little more difficult than cashing in a 9 man. the crazies still will double you up and suicide themselves. With one double up or just some solid play i find myself near the final table almost every time. also if you can play in the evenings especially late. the nitty SnG grinders play a lot during the day.take some notes too. i recognize a lot of the SnG players in the 20 dollar games. if you see a few of the more solid players in the game maybe

lol guess ive been unlucky but the min donk bet almost every time someone does it to me is the supreme overlord nuts. funny thing is i usually have AK or AQ that missed...shovel-> busto. its a good way to confuse me so if you see me in your tourney...please no donk bets.

i like the 45 mans. i dont find making it deep in those that much harder or time consuming than cashing in a 9 man these days.

if we think the villain is not bluffing there is only one non bluffing hand - AQ- we would be thrilled to see. flat calling isn't really an option with our stack so we shovel or fold it. i lean towards a fold with very little to no fold equity if we re-pop. all math aside tournament experience is what has to carry you through these spots...this is just not a situation that the villain can be bluffing very often and if its not a bluff its a coin flip.

Limping with KK in general is a poor play. You invite ace rags, small pairs, suited connectors and all sorts of interesting hands into the pot behind you and you never know if you have the best hand unless you make a set of kings on the flop. Unless you are very comfortable mucking KK on what looks like a "safe" flop stick to the standard raise.there are a few times you can limp with KK. If you are in EP with a moderate to short stack with lots of aggressive players behind you who like to raise you can limp and hope for a re-raise so you can move in. The other time i do it is HU. ive never been one to pay much attention to sharkscope but its kinda fun to check out people you play with and see if they are winnin. i did a search for one of the guys at my table and got a message that said access to this player' statistics had been disabled and was wondering how this was done. anyone have any clues ?

i built my bankroll from 10 dollar SnGs at poker room. When i would place 1st id buy into a 10 or 20 dollar MTT with guarantee money and go for a big score. When i placed 2nd or 3rd or busted out of the money id buy into another SnG. The bankroll doesn't fluctuate much if you are a good player and there is a chance to hit it big in the MTT. I prefer to have 50 or more buyins for whatever level im playing at but this is pretty conservative and you can get buy with 25-30. i ended up cashing out my bankroll awhile back and have recently started trying a similar strat at full tilt. you can sharksc

did you consider folding ? there is a very low chance of a bluff here and if its not a bluff the other realistc holdings have you crushed or hoping the board pairs. there are not too many situation where i'd muck a set but this might just be one of them considering how the action played out. happy ending though

The king is probably the worst card for you because it makes it seem like you just hit with your AK of diamonds or AK offsuit with the ace of diamonds etc which helps him make the call...hrm i guess this is a crying call live too lol :)i played a few of these a month ago in vegas and cashed in a couple. really tough. id hate to lay it down but the evidence suggests you are beat. Online at the levels i play at this is a crying call for sure but live its different. It takes a lot more betting courage to make a play like this without the goods in a live game at least for me.i think this would be read dependent for me. id start talking to the guy, ask him how much he had and try and get him to talk. kill phil was basically taking away the advantage that better players have on the flop by playing huge pots with them. Negreanu and Gavin Smith want to see the flop cheap, , take the pot with a bluff or hit some two pair or str8 you will never ever put them on a million years and break you. If you blow a small ball player up with a huge pre-flop raise it makes it too expensive for them to play especially in a tournament setting you take away the advantage and game just become who holds the better cards. i play a lot of SnGs and when i get heads up if i think the other person is a better heads

i think you might have one more fold in you if you raise something like 3k and get moved in on. the other option is smooth calling the button and using your position after the flop. A lot of people are very suspicious of the smooth call and min raise on the bubble...because you are inviting action and you wouldn't be inviting action unless you had a big hand would you ? its not something i do often but its a play you can use to get chips and bail from with more of your stack intact if something goes wrong.

i dont play turbos but i think the simple play is the best unless your playing a double stack or something. The simple plays are the shovel and the smooth call and check fold if no A or K shows itself. Your re-raise pf however does tell you he likes his hand...a mid pair is usually where my mind goes when someone smooth calls a re-raise like this. tough spot. id be interested to know the results.

im probably not calling the re-raise pf with 78o against the short stacks. i am more likely to call with this sort of hand against larger stacks. On the flop i think the best play might be to re-raise the bettor another 230 or so. He still has close to enough chips to consider a laydown plus you define whether he actually has something. if he pushes you can muck if he calls you might get a couple of free cards to hit your draw.

this is mainly a question of whether the 45s and 180s are worthwhile uses of my time or is it better to take some longer odds at a bigger payout in the guarantees ? im mainly a SnG player 20+2 and 30+3 and when i win in the SnGs i generally try to press the profit by taking some shots in MTTs. I really hate full tilt but there are not many other options for bootcampless macs. I feel like people play better at full tilt too. it is only break even if the guy is out of line with just one over card. Its a winning play vs an underpair and a losing play vs AA,KK or AK so a majority of the hands this guy could have your only breaking even or losing with the call. i still probably call too but i think you can definitely justify a fold. if your goal is to make money in SnGs cashing is the most important thing then winning since all the equity is in the top 3 spots. i tend to gamble more in MTTs to try and build a stack to get to final table and top 3 since a majority of the equity is there.
