This is true, so I don't just generally hate or have a problem with people who wear sunglasses at a table. However, if you're sitting in a 1/2 game or a low stakes home game or something and you want to wear glasses, it's probably because you want to look cool and like a real poker player like on tv. It's people like that that I have a problem with because it's just stupid. And by "you" earlier I mean a person, not you specifically, for clarification.

Spence 0
The reason to wear glasses isn't to keep people from getting a tell on you. It's to be able to look around the table to try to gather tells on somebody without them realizing what you are doing. It can be unnerving to have somebody staring at you every hand, and it can make fish uncomfortable and more likely to leave. At least thats why I would wear them. I don't though. silkyjonson 1
I wear them at times. Really for 2 reasons, sometimes I feel like I am giving away too much information if I am playing with solid players that will pick up on itl Even if I am not it makes me a little more relaxed which will lead to less physical information. And also I like to be watching people while in a hand and at times its uncomfortable starring a guy down and they may give away more info if they dont realize they are being starred down. But I never wear them unless I am in a rather large game with a lot of money on the table. GrinderMJ 0
I don't generally wear them, but I'm definitely going to during the Heartland tourneys at Turningstone as I feel I give away a decent amount of information by my facial reactions/actions. I don't think wearing sunglasses will make me a ******.

antistuff 0
sitting in a room with bright indoor lighting for hours and hours trying to play poker is just icky. of course this isnt why most people wear them and i think it just makes them look silly. i think to myself like man, any tells you are giving off with your eyes are the least of your worries. but each to their own no need to be a hater. looshle 6
I wear sunglasses and a hoodie in mostly every tournament I play. I never used to and also was on the bandwagon of hating the idea of wearing sunglasses but the more you conceal, the more comfortable you feel. Knowing I give away little to no physical tells gives me the confidence I need to allow me to use my full arsenal and takes away fear of being played back at.I started wearing sunglasses at WPT Foxwoods and haven't stopped since. I know JC and alot of big name pros agree.

ThreeBet 0
I don't wear them all the time, and when I do, its not to conceal anything (although the point that it makes you more relaxed/confident is pretty valid). I wear them so that people can't see where I AM LOOKING. Its very easy to "look" as though you are looking one way when you're actually looking another. If I'm not wearing glasses and I watch the PF raiser as the flop hits for his reaction and he does the same to me then he knows that I like to watch (LOL!) He's now going to make the assumption that I'm a pretty good player if I'm watching him versus the cards hitting the board. If I'm wearing glasses then I can appear as if I'm staring right at the board waiting for the flop, but I'm again staring him down looking for his initial reaction to the cards. He thinks I'm looking at the flop so he has no clue. In addition, he may be one of the posters here who thinks I'm just an idiot or trying to look cool, or is a bad player etc, etc. which are all going to give me a little advantage. There are numerous advantages to wearing them and I could cite several specifics such as the one above, but almost everyone thinks its because you're trying to hide your own tells when, if you use them for observation they can be an extremely valuable asset. If others think I'm an idiot, EVEN BETTER!

I wear my sunglasses at nightI love you. Did you check out some Morrisey yet?All of you guys knocking sunglasses and the players that wear them have obviously never gotten a playing card in the eye.And that's very likely around Jesus or Chan. Although I think Jesus has the control to put the card where he wants it, Chan is probably a bit sloppy. They made a book out of that movie? Wow!A rare gem from Dane. I have to say, when Dane makes a joke it is usually quite funny, even if it is over the heads of a good portion of the board. On topic: I don't wear shades at the table, but I may have to give it a try. Nobody respects my raises and river bluffs anymore.
