Official Wsop Meet And Greet

Recommended Posts

If you have a meeting place, make it Daniel friendly, e.g. a cafe that has some vegan/vegetarian items.Maybe you should ask him for suggestions, without any pressure to show up (he doesn't get pressured). Also, carnations are harder to come by than a ripped up (half) ten of clubs or seven of hearts as a name tag. However, maybe the casino won't be thrilled that you have any playing cards stuck to your lapel, even an oldclipped half-card. Just an idea, given that T7o is one of Daniel's favorite hands...Even a plain piece of paper spelling out 7 with a heart, etc. would do, no casino staff would object to that.Wouldn't it be cool to have everyone scratch their heads about these nametags, like we were the body snatchers invading Vegas?Reminds me of the dumbest things, technically being a Catholic, as an adult I was so ignorant on Ash Wednesday I couldn'tfigure out what was with those black marks on people's heads... This was when I was 35 or so, doh!!! Some Catholic I was!!!

Ill be down there also for this one. It seems like most of the people are only coming to town for the 1st 1500 event. Anyone else playing in this one?
Chicago eh. I'll try and fine one of my really offensive Cubs shirts (I'm a Cards fan obv.) so you will be able to pick me out in a crowd. By the way, who the hell kidnapped Jason Marquis and replaced him with somebody who knows how to pitch.

The pizza at the place in NYNY was ****ing good. That's all I got.
I have to agree, given the circumstances and logistics, and the fact that all of us will be scattered all over. THat is one of the reasons I suggested the other pizza joints too...many folks will have cars.But...as far as cheap and easy pizza on the Strip....NY NY pizza slices is one of the best places I can think of at the moment. Quality wise it can be hit or miss, but mostly it is pretty decent stuff. Walk up and order a slice and then wander out into the faux NY City street scape to find a table. The atmosphere is fun and there are plenty of libation options nearby as well. It can get busy but if this became a Monday thing, then crowds should not be an issue really. Feedback??? :icon_cool:EDIT: May 18thMeet and Greet schedule, revised 5-18-07MONDAY, JUNE 4TH - 7 to 8+ PM.VENETIAN NOODLE BAR, VENETIAN (ACROSS FROM THE POKER ROOM)ASIAN/CHINESELOW TO MID EXPENSIVE, CASUALMONDAY, JUNE 11TH - 7 TO 8+ PM.CYPRESS STREET MARKET PLACE PATIO, CAESARS (BTWN MESA GRILL AND THE FORUM SHOPS MALL)BURGERS/PIZZA/SANDWICHES, BBQ, WIDE VARIETYCHEAP, CASUALMONDAY, JUNE 18TH - 7 TO 8+ PMSIRRICOS PIZZA SLICES, NEW YORK NEW YORKCHEAP, CASUALMONDAY, JUNE 25TH - 7 TO 9 PMSPICE MARKET BUFFET, PLANET HOLLYWOOD RESORT (OLD ALADDIN)MID, NICE CASUALMONDAY, JULY 2ND - 7 TO 9 PMRIO BUFFET, RIOMID EXPENSIVE, CASUALMONDAY, JULY 9TH - 7 TO 9 PMBELLAGIO BUFFET, BELLAGIOMID EXPENSIVE, NICE CASUAL(venues and times subject to change, check back often)

Umm, no offense but Daniel doesn't show up on his own site for his own tournament, why the heck would he show up to this?Don't get me wrong, I love the guy for his honesty, willingness to put himself out there and his poker skills but the days of him going out of his way for FCP are over. If his blog entry about limiting himself to 2 hours a day online or whatever it was wasn't evidence enough of this I don't know what is.

I am constantly amazed at how negative you guys are.Obviously it's a crapshoot. The only things I know is I've met him four times and he's so friendly, here's the instance that is probably most relevant:The day after the bootcamp he held (where I was able to talk to him for a few minutes) he busted out of the Canadian WPT championship and made a visit to the poker room at Fallsview (the other Niagara Canadian casino). So he's walking around saying a friendly hello to maybe 5-10 people, and he approaches my table and recognizes meand we did the pound, but it took him a half second to figure out he met me the day before... he's just a gregarious guy.It was so cool because just before this, the geezer sitting to my left probably truthfully told me that he'd played with DN in the old charity casino days, and I added, "oh, well I was with him at camp yesterday" lol...Well, you probably all know he's this friendly already, and hey, Las Vegas is where he's at all the time, so it doesn't hurt to say hi, he's that kind of a guy... right? It makes sense... it costs nothing but 5-30 minutes... (if we didn't ask for autographshe'd do this more often and more easily, I'd bet).

Daniel is a great guy, but he will be INSANELY busy during to WSOP. He, and everyone/anyone else is obviously welcome to join any/all FCP gatherings, he knows this. But, if last year was any indication, he will be mobbed 24/7 with folks wanting to say hello, do interviews, trying to sleep, eat, prepare, avoid, not shake hands, etc.Im not sayig he won't stop by and say a quick hello, but you're better off just politely wishing him well at the Rio if you want to see him in person. Just dont ask for stuff...he will be in tourney mode. Be respectful of that (not that you wouldn't :club: ).That said, does anyone have an opinion about Monday night pizza rendezvous at NY NY?On second thought.....There is also a pretty good Food Court at Ceasars btw....it's just past the sports book on your left...directly across the room from the Celine Dion/Elton John theater on your way to the Forum Shops. they have decent pizza slices...VERY good hamburgers and onion rings.....healthy wraps, etc...all kind of food. There is also plenty of seating and a patio type bar. All very casual. This could be a great spot because it is more "center strip" local wise. I actually like this location much better than NY NY, so any/all feedback is welcome. Holla! :icon_cool:EDIT: May 18thMeet and Greet schedule, revised 5-18-07MONDAY, JUNE 4TH - 7 to 8+ PM.VENETIAN NOODLE BAR, VENETIAN (ACROSS FROM THE POKER ROOM)ASIAN/CHINESELOW TO MID EXPENSIVE, CASUALMONDAY, JUNE 11TH - 7 TO 8+ PM.CYPRESS STREET MARKET PLACE PATIO, CAESARS (BTWN MESA GRILL AND THE FORUM SHOPS MALL)BURGERS/PIZZA/SANDWICHES, BBQ, WIDE VARIETYCHEAP, CASUALMONDAY, JUNE 18TH - 7 TO 8+ PMSIRRICOS PIZZA SLICES, NEW YORK NEW YORKCHEAP, CASUALMONDAY, JUNE 25TH - 7 TO 9 PMSPICE MARKET BUFFET, PLANET HOLLYWOOD RESORT (OLD ALADDIN)MID, NICE CASUALMONDAY, JULY 2ND - 7 TO 9 PMRIO BUFFET, RIOMID EXPENSIVE, CASUALMONDAY, JULY 9TH - 7 TO 9 PMBELLAGIO BUFFET, BELLAGIOMID EXPENSIVE, NICE CASUAL(venues and times subject to change, check back often)
