MikeJohnson724 0
As all of you know Caesars Palace is holding NBC Heads Up this weekend. Well yesterday afternoon, the pros came in and many of them were playing in the card room. Was cool to see all the guys a table away. Jamie gold was playing 1/3 nl! He must be broke??!?!?! j/k. I think it's cool of him to play low stakes to screw around. If any of you are in town, head on over to Caesars today and play the noon tournament and see some pros. I doubt any of them are going to play this tournament but they will be in the cash games throughout the room.
juggo 0
i think 1/3 nl is just his cash game skill level.
HijackedAffairs 0
Was he still playing every single hand? I'm wondering if that's how he always plays in cash games. Every hand in HSP he at least saw the flop.
byaaatch 0
as much as I cant stand gold didnt daniel say that he has played very low stake games within the last few years?
ramenandeggs 0
i think daniel has a different idea of what low stakes is.
MikeJohnson724 0
Yah I know Daniel has mentioned it. Jamie was obv fooling around. I was never a big fan of the guy like most of you aren't, I just think it's cool that some pros take the time to do something like this while others may not. I understand the guy has 6 million and money isn't a thing, and to some pros money is still very important.Anyways I am going down there now and will let you know more when I get back. I was never a big fan of the guy like most of you aren't, I just think it's cool that some pros take the time to do something like this while others may not. I understand the guy has 5.9 million minus taxes and money isn't a thing, and to some pros money is still very important.Anyways I am going down there now and will let you know more when I get back.FYP
MikeJohnson724 0
FYPThanks Jam. With an accounting degree, I was unaware of taxes and all that stuff.
360f1 0
I was there. The biggest game in the room was 2/5 and there were no seats open. I'm guessing that if there was a bigger game, he'd be playing in it. For a while some of the big names were playing something (I dodn't see the limits) in the back, but there were no available seats there either.

BigDMcGee 3,352
They should pay someone to leave so gold gets a seat.. did you see the way they were begging jamie to stick around on HSP?
Ron_Mexico 4,219
They spread a 1/3 NL game at Caesars now? In December, it was 1/2 200 max or 2/5 500 max. Is this new?and Gold has been nothing but humble whenever I've seen him on tv. Guess I'm the only guy that doesn't have any issue with him. Seems like a decent guy that is enjoying the ride that comes with being the Champ.

byaaatch 0
WTF does your dislike of Gold have to do with that statement??it seemed as though people were busting of gold for playing in such low levels. I was just saying that he was probably just fooling around in those levels like daniel has fooled around in those levels.

Every hand in HSP he at least saw the flop.I love how TV editing has such a big impact on the public opinion.I listened to the Jamie Gold interview on the Circuit from 1/26/2007 (look it up on iTunes for free). Prior to listening to this I thought he was a jerk.
starfit 0
He seemed to be in a bigger game at Bellagio when I saw him Early January. He was at a $25/50 NL full table with about $30K in front of him. It was the biggest game going at the time and wasn't on the elevated floor area. Not too many people railing that game at the time.
Dratj 0
i think 1/3 nl is just his cash game skill level.Yah, I think after HSP, he realizes that the other high stakes guys are better. Remember Barry saying to Jamie"I was hoping you wouldn't leave and donate some of the money you took out of the poker community."
delphi12 0
it seemed as though people were busting of gold for playing in such low levels. I was just saying that he was probably just fooling around in those levels like daniel has fooled around in those levels. The only time daniel has fooled around at those levels was at the Wynn where he bought in for 250k obviously covering everybody and inflating his ego as people ooed and awwed at him. Jamie probably will drop back down to levels more reasonable as he has been getting crushed at the Bike and Commerce these past few weeks. Hell, I see pros all the time at Hustler (Varkoni, John Gale)..

He could be a nice guy, but if you act like that at the table, that's how most people are going to judge you.
