So as some of you may know...i started an internship for my last year of school.im glad i got the spot and i think it'll be a good experience...but just being in the office today really made me realize how 'lucky' i have been to be able to play poker...like, i knew this...but actually getting back in the 'real' workforce...refreshed that in my mind.i'm still not sure what path i'm going to take once i graduate...i just really enjoy playing poker..so we'll see what happens.sorry, it's kinda blogish.- Jordan

yea, well...pretty sure he had a job before he started making much more playing poker, and playing as much poker as i was...not that i was playing a shit ton and making a lot of money (it's all relative)...but i'm just a bit younger and it just kinda worked out that in college, playing turned into paying my bills...so i've not had to work and chosen to pursue this...just not sure for how long i want to. But I really do enjoy it, I'm just not sure if it is because it lets me have so much freedom...blah i feel really random, but i think it's just a ton of stuff that makes me enjoy the "poker profession" so much overall. Obviously there are lots of downsides to it, but with the bad there is also the good, vice versa and all that jazz.all i know, once i grad. it's going to be very tough to just get a job that I dont see myself doing down the line (career) and equally hard to make that type of decision. I'm very much against settling down and just living (job wise). I enjoy poker cause I have tons of freedom and can do, more or less, what I want when I want simply cause I have the freedom to make those choices...so blah, I also think if I play poker I can also do a lot of other stuff that otherwise I may not be able to if I'm working...but we'll see. And it's not like I'm going to be defined by my job either way, poker player or social worker, or whatever I happen to decide.my major is social work and i'm interning at an organization here in columbus that serves people living with hiv/aids.i'm glad i have the position and i think it'll be good...but i just have a hard time seeing myself as a case manager (generally i would want to advance, but as far as in what theatre i'm really not sure, so many options)...or w/e...like, idk..it's sorta hard for me to explain...anyways...we'll see what happens as it goes.- Jordan

Maybe take a few months out and travel. You could always take a laptop and earn a bit that way to pay for your way - I jacked in a career of 5years when I was 23 because it wasn't what I wanted. Sounds cheesey as fook, but it was the best decision of my life, my only regret is that I didn't do it sooner so I could have travelled more. When I wasn't sure what I wanted to it gave me ideas about things I liked and helped give some perspective.....plus its awesome to live the life of a backpacker. :club:

In all fairness, I said this because the thought of sitting in a casino and playing cards 8+ hours a day for a living was almost as bad as sitting in an office.Thank God for online poker! :club:
