I'm all about "White Castle".
Not for me. I am West Coast. And over here it is all about In-N-Out. They blow those White Castle Little-Tiny-Waste-Of-Time burgers out of the water. It's all about the Double-Double(Animal Style)
Oh god. I was in Cali for a few weeks and ate at one of those. They're THE BOMB, and thats a fact.EDIT: They still can't hang with Whataburger.
They can't hang with Wataburger. Are you completely insane! That is perhaps the most rediculous statement ever. I had a great deal of respect for you until you went and said that.

I realize we're all over the world on this forum, but to everyone living outside of The Drrrrrrrty South (the best place in the entire world to live), you guys are seriously missing out on the greatest place EVER.That of course can only be waffle house. It's basically a truck stop-like 24 hour breakfast place that's open every day of the year. The people that work 3rd shift (9 p.m. to 7 a.m.) are as rare and colorful as the people that come in during 3rd shift (drunks, stoners, truckers, rednecks, degenerates, what have you).I highly recommend the double order of hashbrowns "all the way." Of course, Waffle House has it's own lingo for how you order hashbrowns, and All The Way means scattered, smothered, covered, topped, chunked, capped (poker term!), peppered, and diced. For you rookies, that means my hashbrowns order is double hashbrowns, with cheese, onions, diced ham, diced tomatoes, mushrooms, jalapeno peppers, and the piece de resistance, topped with Bert's Chili. I can feel my arteries clogging right now, and an atomic, white-knuckle dump is never far around the corner from a 4 a.m. WaHo trip.Absolute and wrto have GOT to back me up on this. This isn't even an option. For those of you who don't live in Dixie, then all I have to say is :-P
I went to college in NC, I know all about the waffle house at 3 am. Good stuff, beer and hash browns.

Speaking of SoCal, I was there for about 7 yrs, and I miss the Alberto's! There is nothing here like their "three rolled tacos with guacamole" or the mother of all burrittttoooos - their Carne Asada burrito.

i am convinced this is the most unhealthy group of people ever. del taco is def. not the bomb' date=' del taco is some of the nastiest food ever...as with taco bell and jack in the box' date=' no wonder all of the poker players on tv are pretty much fat slobs...try eating a salad and fruit or something like that...i guess theres a reason that heart disease is the number one killer in america. when i play i love munching on mixed greens salad or definitely cut up apples, those are the best, also focaccia bread and tomato and basil hummus are a good snack...keeping your body healthy will keep your play better..i [b']gauruntee [/b]it.[/quote']Will it make your spelling better too?SW

2 answers. If I'm gonna play more, Tim Horton's, coffee and a donut. Caffeine, sugar, I'm ready for another couple hours. If I'm done and it's time to put a meal away and pass out or drink or avoid the need for serious thought, etc., it's a place called Nick Tahou's, an item called the "Garbage Plate" (cheeseburger plate, mac and homefries to those in the know) and anyone who's ever lived in Rochester NY knows, and anyone who hasn't is clueless and missing out.

To anyone who doesnt live in southwestern ohio or northern florida, you're missing out. Skyline Chili is the best place to eat at any time of the day. I live in southwest ohio and we definatley have wafflehouse. good stuff.

Waffle House is far from being a "Southern" thing anymore... but have no fear, the North hasn't stolen your ideas of drowning your own children in the bathtub or chaining people to the bumper of a truck.

LMAO...that is the funniest thing I've heard in a while. As for what we eat in Canada, well, we have a lot of the same restaurants/fast food dumps as you guys, except for Waffle House, White Castle, etc. I don't play in the casino really, so usually we order some pizzas, or occasionally Denny's or whatever else is open/around (A&W, Wendy's, BK). Also, I know one of our local casinos has a free Chinese buffet at 3am-ish that is supposedly pretty good. Basically the same stuff though. I guess we'll just have to keep eating that crap til Dan let's us in on the secret of his special vitamin! :-)

what do you guys like to eat late at night during or after a session...if you haven't had it, Del Taco is bomb....also, costco style taquitos with mild sauce from taco bell or del taco is bomb too...any other recommendations?
I will tell you what I eat during a session. I play in a casino that offers absolutely no comps or sells food near the poker room, so I bring reeses pieces and fruit jub jubs, and for supper I get 3 drink scewers of olives from the waitresses who like me. ( I usually play at least 7-10 or more hours). Healthy eh? 8) And when I get home at 11:00 pm or later, I seem to be craving taco chips with cheez whiz melted on top, and tomatoes and sour cream.JackTheCat :club: IT'S ALL GOOD! (especially the olives)

Yeah, I thought it was hilarious. Gourmet plate? Just seems so wrong on so many levels. I bet it's still good, but at 15 bucks a plate that bet might be -EV. Buffalo chili as the hot sauce IIRC?
