Canadian are notoriously stupid, it's true. They say really dumb things all the time. My mom, who is Canadian, thought that Mount Rushmore was a naturally occurring phenomenon. True story. I have a friend who is Canadian, and he can't for the life of him figure out the Feynman rules for even a simple field theory. I had this professor (again, canadian..lol, so stupid) who still doesn't know how consciousness can emerge from material objects.
Why don't you come up here, knock on my igloo, and we'll settle this in 50 degree below weather. I'll leave my pet penguins (Sally and John) tied up, so they don't attack you. Have you seen a show called "Talking with Americans" or something like that with Rick Mercer? It's amazing how naive some of you Americans are about our country.

I used to haul a race boat around the country during the summers and one of our races was in Saskatoon, so I got the chance to drive around Canada from the middle to the Western side and down. I've flown into Montreal, and cruise ship stopped in Vancouver.I dig Canada, love the people, and the land.I thank them for:Rush John Candy RIP Dan AkroydJim CarreyEugene LevyBob and Doug Mackenzieand The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinklebut the US is still the best ever. I traveled all over Europe, if the people hated me they forgot to tell me. If they had told me I would have mocked them because they all have warts that are easy to exploit.Let's all agree that the USA and Canada are good neighbors and friends, and let's get back to what's important:Hating the French

I don't know if this post in its entirety in directed at me, but if it was, allow me to clear the air by declaring my post a joke. In fact, I am Canadian. And I agree, "talking with americans" is funny, but is not an accurate cross section of americans knowledge of canadians. Someone could make us look pretty stupid too if enough Canadians were asked about America.

Alright, I'll stick my neck on the line...from my real account. All of you fellow Americans that have your panties in a wad over the bill thatwas recently passed banning US Banks from transfering money to and from off shore gambling sites (The bill does NOT ban online gambling, there's already a bill that does that that hasn't been enforced) need to have a beer, smoke a blunt, get laid or whatever it is you do to relax. The fact of the matter is the vast majority of you have no idea what you're talking about, have never voted, didn't call or write your representatives in thehouse or senate, but, instead, you come on here parroting what you hear from the other posters that also have no clue what the hell they're talking about. Clearly our system of government isn't perfect, or even close, but the fact of the matter is it's a hell of a lot better than any alternative out there...Otherwise people from around the world would be risking their lives and that of their families to imigrate somewhere else. When people from around the world want the best medicine and medical care available (as ridiculously expensive as it is) they come to America. Yes even you Canadians. When people want "a better life and more opportunities" they come to America. Yes even you DN. When there is a natural disaster, civil war, geneocide etc... anywhere around the world, the first number dialed is that of America and we're villified if our support, money, troops, whatever, are perceived to be inadequate or not timely enough. When we are attacked and almost 3,000 of our innocent civilians are murdered by religious extremists and we put our boot in the *** of those that threaten us, we are the big bad bully with nothing but world domination on our agenda. The fact of the matter is when you're on top everyone wants to knock you down. You see it in sports, business, politics, religious extremism and every other facet of life. And America is clearly on top. You are welcome here with open arms. You have the right to express your opinion, no matter how extreme, without fear of being thrown in jail or shot. You are free to choose where you live, where you work, to purchase property and build whatever house you choose. You are free to be as successful as you want to be, it's just a matter of how hard you're willing to work for it, not whether you have enough money to bribe the local government. You are also free to get the hell out if you don't like it. The system is not perfect. No political system is but rather than coming on here crying about it, get out there and learn about the candidates in the upcoming elections. Support the candidate that best represents your values and beliefs and, if there isn't one, run for office yourself. Or you can write in a POKER forum about how embarrased you are to be an American, that Bill Frist is a weasel, Bush is an idiot and your rights are being taken away. From the comfort of your parents home, in your underwear, while you multitable $1/$2 NLHE and you do absolutely nothing to change things. As an American, that too is your right.

Any of you Americans tired of these Canadians complaining about the U.S.? DN's Oct. 4th blog is just one example. Complain about our politics? And you're from a country where the office of prime minister, who is the head of the government, is not even mentioned in their constitution. They just kind of made the office up, and since nobody noticed or cared to stop it, the made up office is the head of the government. The leader of the Canadian government is appointed by the queen of England, through the governor general (appointed by the queen). And U.S. politics is a joke? The Canadian government was dominated by the Liberals (one thing Canada has going for it - they call a liberal a liberal) for about the last ten years. They got control of the government in the early 90s by promising to get rid of the GST (the much hated 7% national sales tax). When they got in power, they forgot about this central campaign issue. While they were trying to make Canada a socialist state over the next 10 years, they also were very corrupt and this finally caught up with them in the last few years. Canadians finally just recently got wise and gave them the boot. And U.S. politics is a joke? The Canadian Senate is an appointed body, not elected. So if the ruling party doesn't get what they want through the senate, they just replace them with new appointments. And U.S. politics is a joke?So here we have a county who's head of the government is not even a constitutional office, is appointed by the queen of England, and who long to be just like France. And U.S. politics is a joke? Can anybody from Canada say that with a straight face? And now you complain when the U.S. Government does something that is constitutional? Regulating interstate commerce is absolutely part of our constitution. We follow our constitution. Internet poker was operating in a grey area, simply because the internet did not exist when the wire communications act became law. Our government has regulated gambling since the beginning of our country, this is not new. And a hint to non-Americans, don't try to get Americans to comply with your ideas by saying Europeans have done it (like in DN's blog). This may work in Canada, but not here. For those that do not live close to Canada and are unfamiliar with them, the whole Canadian national identity is “we are not Americans”. Not liberty, freedom, justice, democracy, or even the pursuit of happiness. Just “we are not Americans”. This is why your average Canadian, like DN, is enamored with Europeans. Of course they have to align themselves with the European way of thinking, because “they are not Americans”. So the next time you hear a Canadian complain about something in the U.S., don't take it personally. They have to. By complaining about something in the U.S., it justifies their national identity of “we are not Americans”, even though so many of them come to the U.S. to make a living, like DN.A little hint DN, Americans don't generally take kindly to foreigners coming here and putting us down. Even Diane Feinstein (extreme liberal) defended Pres. Bush when Hugo Chavez was putting him down. You could learn from that.
US politics are a joke...and I'm an American

I have pretty much spent the 10 years traveling the world and will say the U.S Gov has never been so hated as it is right now ~ and its not because of some DUMB internet gaming bill~its because of the poor leadership in the white house KILLING the great U.S name and dream.if you want to blame some one blame Jeb Bush and Florida
You're serious right?? :club::D The HST is a blended tax. 14%.6% of it is the Federal portion (the Gst portion - 6% like the GST in the rest of Canada), and 8% is the Provincial portion. They didn't "get rid" of the GST. They just combined it with the provincial sales tax to create one tax.Yep, someone's azz is talkin, for sure.Bwahahahahahahahahahaaha. Stunned speechless by this one. Just wow.
what was the tax in nova scotia before the Gst was killed ?it was 18.1%and what is it now in Nova Scotia ?also some item's are not tax anymore !nmae one elected office charged in the Ad scam ?please i must have missed that news update

As an American, I think everybody should be entitled to free speech. Should we be allowed to complain ever about Canada or another country besides our own? If you think the answer to this is yes and that Canadians should not be allowed to complain about us, that is making a double standard my friend. This is the exact reason the entire world hates us.... When stupid idiots like you state that freedom of speech is terrific, but because im an American and I say so, you cannot say anything bad about my country. :club::D:D:D

From the comfort of your parents home, in your underwear, while you multitable $1/$2 NLHE and you do absolutely nothing to change things. From one American to another, I think your idea of everyone wants to knock the top off is skewed. Back in like 1998, we Americans were considered intellectuals and were greeted with open arms in all of Europe. Werent we the powerhouse of the world then too?? Being an American was a giant complement. then we decided to invade Iraq because we argued that the rest of the world was wrong and we were right. We "asked" the entire world what we should do and when we did not like the answer given, told them to go **** themselves. The reason we are hated now is because now we tell the entire world that we are smarted and better then they are and that no matter what groups like the UN, which we willingly joined, say we will disregard it and do whatever we want when we want how we want. At the same time, if a country like France or England invaded a country without concent from us, we would be jumping up and down bitching about how they can't do that to us!! We are America!! This is another double standard.Of course I do not hate you or look down upon you for having an opising view, humans around the world should be allowed to say whatever they want about anybody should be allowed unless they specifically agreed to waive these rights. (Military people)

Thank you. It just pisses me off that Americans are in general great people, but a couple of loud and idiotic Americans completely **** up our image and reputaition by professing how they "know everything about what everyone should do and everyone else is always wrong" Then then they wonder how in the world these other countries hate poor old innocent me??

Thanks Actuary. Oh, send pics of your wife You know, just in case! :D Chessazhole..... You sir need to learn on your own more and rely on the media less. And frankly, I could care less what the rest of the world thinks of us. If they don't like us, stop calling everytime they need someone to come save their sorry asses. I would much rather use the billions of dollars a year of OUR tax money to help the people in our country that need it rather than sending it to countrysaround the world that ask for "relief" constantly from one side of their mouths while talking **** about us out the other. Also, I realize that no ones opinion is going to be changed by reading a forum and I absolutely respect views and opinions other than my own. In fact I often seek them out because sometimes they make me think about an issue from an angle I hadn't before. One of my biggest pet peeves in life however is people not taking the time to educate themselves and, instead, regurgitate what they hear on tv. Just want all of you to know that this is just my opinion and nothing personal against any of you. :club: good luck to you sir.

I'm pretty certain this is coming down to Conservatives vs Liberals for the most part again, as far as the American posters.
No reason that it should since it's pretty objective. The only reason that it seems to be is that the arguement has been sidtracked into a discussion about whether it's okay or not to have the world "hate us," or whatever.
I like that you people think Freedom of Speech only protects the well-informed, well-spoken. "I have the right to say the leader of Iran is a good speaker."Sure..but then your paperboy has the right to say.."You're an idiot and get out of our country."
I gotta be honest, I have no idea who you're addressing with this post or what you're talking about. Are you saying that there are people who believe that paperboys shouldn't have freedom of speech but they should? Honestly, I'm lost.

there was a discussion on yahoo recently about that American gymnast (?) who received a medal and there was controversy about the scoring What was odd about the discussion is everyone who was saying he should give it back also said that Bush was also a lieing cheat who took things that were'nt his and America was reflected that attitude now. My point is most any discussion it's easy to separate the Libs and Conservs.

i'm guessing he's saying libs celebrate the freedom of speech, especially the kind by Mike Wallace? that espouses the virtues of a man like the leader of Iran. However, when a "dumb redneck" voices a strong opinion, well, he's being intolerant and uneducated. At least that's how I took it.
