No problem. My read is that Dave thinks *he's* being the nice guy by backing off a girl that his buddy (that's you) is clearly crazy about. I've done that for my friends before, and they've done it for me. In any event, if your radar is telling you there's a chance with someone you can really see yourself having a future with, you're not doing yourself any favors by ignoring the impulse. However apprehensive you're feeling about putting yourself out there, I guarantee you she feels it 10x (since women have a natural instinct *not* to put themselves out there and take the big risk) assuming that she's not just the nicest uninterested girl in the universe. i think you were right on with most of your advice. She certainly has her share of pretty-boy suitors, so she'll definitely miss me when i move out. as per usual, if i want something to happen, it'd have to be something serious, so i can see where i am then.we do make dinner, watch tv, etc together. she is not in the least bit shy though. if she wanted something to happen, she'd make it so. a lot of it is because i think she is/was pretty lonely. she didn't make many friends in rez, and is only in her second year. her roommate from last semester was never around, and moved out. now she's got a nice, fun roommate, who brings over lots of friends, and i think she's enjoying both the company and positive attention (i.e. not dbags hitting on her in a bar).
