Merby 3
I love FCP because I'm a charter member and you are not.*I love that I was able to make this Charter member brag before Balloon Guy did... or at least until he inevitably goes back and edits his earlier post.I love the sense of community we have at FCP, tossed together with a dash of good strat advice...But most of all, I love all the free booze in the super secret Charter Members' Lounge.*if a charter member is reading this post, then please ignore this statement. Fade2241 0
FCP is awesome because of how the members root for each other even if you've had no direct contact. Everytime I've final tabled a large MTT FCP'ers I didn't even know were right there to root me on! Daniels blog brought me here, the people made me stay. Holla FCP!
CobaltBlue 662
I've participated in forums aside from this one, but FCP has held my attention over the long haul. I've met a lot of great friends and learned a lot through it.
Potsie P 0
I lot of reasons come to mind as to why I enjoy FCP--the hilarity that breaks up the workday, the support I get directly or feel indirectly for loving this game the way I do (especially when so many others look down on it and you--even when you call it a "hobby"), the honor amongst friends who in some cases haven't even met face-to-face, and the fact that not a single FCP'er whom I actually HAVE met has been anything less than a total class act and definitely, definitely worth knowing. These are all notable to me, particularly because I never expected to find any of these things when I first joined FCP. Of course, I could go on, but suffice it to say that what all those reasons and more boil down to for me is simply this: I am a better person by being a part of this community. And for that, I thank you all. Even the n00bs.

AdamDarv 0
Although I do not post often, I do enjoy reading the forum for a number of different reasons. Many of you guys have become friends over the years and that is pretty cool. As a newbie you don't just get to show up and get accepted until people have a better understanding of who you are and what you are about and I am good with that. But this forum does have alot to offer, from pure comedic relief, to people offering up stakes, rail calls of support, strategy info, gambling challanges, FCP gatherings and of course legendary starting hands such as the Krabblar. So it was here at FCP that I first learned of the Krabblar and the power behind it. So this past week I am out in Arizona on business and decide to head over to the Casino Arizona for some $5 - $150 spread limit action on my last night (Thanks to FCP I searched Arizona Poker and found this casino). Anyways the Casino Arizona had quite the poker room, you guys in Arizona are pretty lucky, hopefully come July things will pickup in Colorado with the limits being increased to $100 max bet. After playing for about an hour it is pretty apparent that the guy on my left and the guy on my right are friends, and overall the table is pretty friendly with a variety of players from a skill standpoint. Got a old guy, like near 80 sitting at the table who can barely see the flop and needs the players to help him out by telling him what cards on the board. Got another guy who has not played much and is spewing chips left and right. And a couple of others who are only playing the nuts and for smallish pots. So other the the guys next to me and 2 others who have a reasonable grasp of the game it appears to me to be a fairly easy game to beat. So after a few hours the guy on my left starts talking about the Krabblar, with the guy on my right. I interject and say they must be FCP members and sure enough they are. Guy on my right turns out to be Trussdude and turns out to be a pretty cool guy. Both trussdude and his friend leave the game up well over $500 each and trussdude is cool enough to invite me to his home game next time I am in Phoenix, which apparently has some other regular FCPers playing in it. So before these guys leave I pickup the Krabblar UTG and open for a raise to $20, I get 2 callers including the old guy who can't see so its 3 of us to the flop. Flop is J 3 7 with 2 clubs, I lead out for $40 and old guy follows along with the call. Turn is a Q so I fire another $60, one again old guy smooth calls. At this point I am hoping(putting him on) he is on a flush draw, because in all other previous situations where he has top pair or middle pair he shoves allin. River bricks and I check and he checks ebhind. I flip over my K3 offsuit and he mucks face up his Ace 4 of clubs as I rake in a nice $280 pot, at this point i decide not to do the Krabblar dance for fear of him having a heart attck right there at the table as well as he probably could not see me do it anyways.Moral of post - FCP is a cool place to be regardless if you are a newbie with little or nothing of value to contribute or a long time regular. And once again shout out to trussdude - was good meeting you and bud.

GeneralGeeWhiz 0
Do not hijack this thread to fight. What are some other things people enjoy about fcp? I've met a lot of cool people and also have become a better poker player.
BeaverStyle 1
I thoroughly enjoy Q's LOL-cat thread cliffnotes whenever they occur. I know others have done it as well, but I believe he was the first, and therefore the best! <3FCP will always mean something to me. From the perspective of a below average wanna-be poker player to someone who has eventually profited from the game... I owe it all to FCP and to it's members. I never had the big tourney win to allow me to put in more volume and better results, but my measly winnings from poker are thanks to the help from people in the strat forums and the support and banter of the gen poker forum. Great thread fluff!p.s. If I ever have a bad day, I can pretty much scroll through any thread on FCP and within 10 seconds see a magnificent pair of bouncing titties which undoubtedly puts me in a better mood. Jordan 1
I've made good friends, as strange as that sounds, through FCP. Some of which I still haven't met, but probably will in the near future.I've made good connections through FCP, which has both benefited myself and others.I got into poker through FCP. Before I found 2+2, RPG, and other sites, I was at FCP. Before there were forums and "charter" members, I found the site and would just read the stuff that was here.I've never been a "fan boi" in the sense of the word, but I've always been a fan of Daniel, as I found him fun to watch when I was first getting into poker and found most TV poker to be bland...and am thankful for the forum and the site as a whole. I like that it's an open group. Although there is the occasional "annoyance", they are generally very easy to ignore, and the positives out weigh the negatives. If it weren't an open group, I wouldn't have met the people I have met. I wouldn't have some of the friends and acquantences (spelling yawn) that I have, nor the connections and 'influence'. So I take the positive with the negative.Outside of the challenge thread, I don't do much on FCP. I'll make the occasional post outside of that thread, and wish people GL that choose to subject themselves to tournaments or w/e on any given sunday...but just cause I don't "use" the entire forum doesn't mean I don't enjoy FCP or wanna just drop it all together.2+2 is the other forum I post at regularly and there is just as much lolness there as here. But each site has it's niche and it's benefits. I don't necc. expect to make the same type of quality of poker friends as I used to, but this was a place that IMO has generally been friendly and fair to new comers which can be tough on the internet when so many people are closed off yada yada. Cliff notes: Most people are cool and the positives of being part of FCP and most every other online comm. I been part of outweigh the negatvies. Don't wanna see that burn out.- Jordan
