Things were goin well for me in the tournament, til I ran into this one donk who was just holding over me. About four hours into the tourny blinds at 400-800 im sitting with about 24k which is probably top 5 stack size in a field of 83. This one guy who has been opening pots all day with any ace and calling raises with ace rag. makes it 2100 UTG he is sitting with 10k I believe. Realizing this I just decided to make a play in late position so I raise all in with Q10 of hearts. Keep in mind this is the only time in the tournament id ever made a play, and when id raise I had the goods. I showed it to them everytime, So this guy is in the tank, then after 5 minutes he calls with Ace 5 diamonds, flops an Ace. The whole table was like you took that long to call with that ****, I was told by 5 people at the table I made a great play and cant believe I was called down with that. After I lost that pot I berated him but controlled myself to the point not to do over do it, as I still had enough chips to come back. In any case I was card dead for the remainder of the tourny til I had KQ pushed in and wouldnt you know it our hero had Ak to bust me. No more poker for me for a long time.Id also like some thoughts on my play.To that guy in the WSOP Tourny at Tulalip Casino with the Minnesota Sweater and Tulalip Poker hat. Your a donk, what the hell did u think u could beat by calling an all in. If I ever see you again im gonna just kick your ***. Here we are playing for a 19k first place and you play push/pray poker, your **** got hard every time you saw an ace.

we were down to 3 tables at this point and it pays to 10. He was calling raises, but to call with that for your whole tournament.

How bout this for hand? EP makes standard raise. MP moves all in. Hero is next to act. Hero Reraises all in. Player left to hero rereraises all in. EP makes the call.Guess the hands? $5 on stars to get them all right

AK, Q9 and 33edit: Q9 obviously hits quads.

isn't it sort of a contradiction in terms to suggest that you made a play at the pot and then to indicate anger at getting called; you made a play and he quite likely saw it coming; or he might just be the donkey you thought he was in which case it was foolish of you to make a play at him for half of your stack thinking that a horrible player would lay it downeither way, best of luck in whatever you choose to do in the future; your poker stories were always interesting if nothing else

Firstly, theres 4 hands, EP, Guy to my right, me, guy to my left. But you right that someone hit quads

Sorry to say, but you are the donk. Anyone who knows anything about poker knows that you don't bluff a calling station, and you don't try to outplay a fish. You wait out a fish and wait for them to make mistakes, then you capitalize on them. Plus, your going all in just to steal the blinds and his raise? Risking so much of your stack like that? Only an experienced player recognizes and respects a tight player's raise. Personally I hate the play of just going all in. It is essentially saying "I have nothing, I am only doing this because I think you have nothing and can't call." I pick that **** off every time. Its the worst play ever. Even a fish can spot this one out, and he had a correct read on you, so I applaud his play. And the fact that your angry makes me laugh. On top of that, you manage to yet again get yourself into a losing situation with KQ dominated by someone's AK. I was hoping to read something like "I flopped a set of aces, trapped someone into going all in on me drawing to only a gutshot straight draw, and it came on the river. We were both top 5 in chips and it was a $5,000 event" THEN I could see your frustration... but please grow up, you got legitimately outplayed.

What Tantular said, times ten. I hope you stick to your new mantra of not playing, for a very long time. Actually, I take that back. I hope you are sitting to my immediate left in event 15 of this years WSOP. That would be great.

I'm going to save you all alot of trouble. Search this guys old posts. He's gone busto more time than I can count and then he says he's never gonna play again. Quite often resulting in someone giving him cash to play in another tourney.Seattle: Doesn't this ever get old for you?

I believe a certain mod. said that if he kept posting results like this there would be a fun ban. Hope you enjoyed venting Seattle it might've been your last chance. Yay!

I agree with everything Tantalar said. Risking your entire stack on that steal is a stupid move. Don't make those moves if you can't deal with the times they don't work.

I am still amazed at the people who are upset because a bad player makes a bad decision. Knowing he has been making donk moves the whole tourney, Why are you upset that he didn't make what you consider the "correct" play this time by laying the A rag down? Did you suddenly think he became a master of the game and would realize he was most likely dominated? That's why you move in on him with only a great hand and get that call from A rag.

what made it a really bad play was that the guy raised UTG. and with the blinds at 400-800 and him having 10K in chips assuming he raised to 3-5X he has already put a decent % of his stack in the middle. He actually made a great call, as for the initial raise UTG, well that was pretty bad but he is a donkey and you should expect stuff like that from him. The play you made should be saved for a Tight aggro player capable of folding a hand. The fact that you made this play on a donk makes you a donk aswell. Trying to re-steal against UTG raises is just stupid. Especially when he is already somewhat commited to the hand

Well said... I wouldn't quit poker because of this I would use it as a learning experience to better my play.

i would think that the play would work better against a LAG. the tight aggro player is more likely to have a big hand UTG and he won't fold

I am not sure if you're looking for opinions or not, but i am gonna give you one. Don't make plays on poeple who call with A 5. Wait until you have a hand, and then jam them. I don't like your play at all. The reason why bad players are bad is because they allow you many opportunities to chip up at minimal risk to your own stack. You neutralized that advantage by unecessarily making a highly risky play.my 2 cents.
