At least there's some entertainment value in 3 card poker. Slots is like throwing your money into the ocean, only not as fun.

My kids will definitely play poker. It's a great game, and I hope they can find the same enjoyment from it that I have.

Yeah, so I had a terrible night tonight playing poker, so I decided to blow off some steam playing blackjack on Absolute. It was pretty much the most ridiculous run of cards (as far as blackjack goes) that I've ever had. I was up 500 in about 15 minutes betting between 25 and 50 a hand. The moral of the story? Playing blackjack to try and get even is a good idea.

Yeah, I highly doubt you were as calm as you're making yourself out to be. No casino I've ever been in will ask you to leave or take a break just for doing what you did. So I imagine the situation was a little more heated than you're telling us. My solution: don't act like a douchebag the next time, and you won't have this problem.

Playing a wide variety of hands in position is generally right. It's even right up front in the loosest games. I play 20/40 in AC now, but I started on 10/20 there....I have no idea if the games are comparable in Chicago, but if they're anything like AC, you'll be just fine.

It's not the "season finale," it's just going on break. It does suck, because I am also addicted to 24. I really don't know what I'm going to watch on Wednesday nights without lost. So lame.

I think that's true for me to an extent. It's stressful to play for a living (I've been playing full time for 2 years), but there's nothing else I'd rather do. I started playing for a living because I hated the idea of working full time at a "real" job. I think that it would just be boring. I don't think it would be more stressful.I think the person that said it wouldn't be stressful to play poker full time doesn't know what he's talking about. It's one of the more stressful things I think you can do for a living. Imagine going to work everyday, working hard, and getting a different paychecks
