I actually like the slow play. I have had some beats from it, but its not too bad. And also the QQ vs. AK isn't that bad of a bad beat, its pretty much a coinflip, unless you flopped a set, and lost to runner runner. I don't slow play calling stations either, when I flop my monsters I'll play them fast, because there called calling stations for a reason. Nevermind I reread the post, and you said you lost to a K on the river. He had about a 13% chance to win going to the river.

Whats funny is that committing suicide back in the day use to be a crime. It was "Taking of a human life" The question is, how can you punish the person? After all they are dead. If you tried to committ suicide, and did not have success, then you would be punished.

He has you beat, easy fold. Fold it preflop. Your impatience will get you in trouble. Good players know when to wait, and be patient, and not just throw in money with a weak A because they were feeling bored.

what are the stack sizes? And I don't like the check on the turn. Can't be afraid villian will always have the flush, when the third diamond comes. You have position, BB checked the turn, you need to bet.

All I have to say it that people who lift weights, and get big, isn't from low selfesteem, and they don't need to feel like they need to get big. I have lifted weights for 6+ years, and strictly power lifting. I'm not trying to brag or anything, but I'am pretty big. I have to say, girls love it. I started lifting because I really had nothing else to do, and thought it would be good to get in shape, and I was hooked. In school I would have 2 weight training classes 2 hours each a day. So I was pretty much working out 4 hours everyday, 5 days a week. My girlfriend loves it, makes your gir -
Yeah I forgot about the celeb poker thing. Also that Mansion Poker: Speed poker crap is pretty horrible too.

Yes aggression will take you pretty far, the quote, "Aggressive poker, is winning poker." But since you haven't played in awhile like you said you may want to be carefull, because since you've been off for awhile you may become sloppy, and what not. I wouldn't want to take a long break from not playing any poker, and when I come back be Super Agressive. But thats just me.

Obviously you don't want to play marginal holding in EP with raising preflop, because yes you are most likely to get a raise from LP, and you don't want to build a big pot OOP. With the marginal holding you want to keep the pot small, and may try for a steal in later streets if you feel your hand won't win at showdown. In LP its good to raise a little wider range of hands because just like it sounds your in position. You want to be building big pots in LP to maximize you value in the hand when you hit your monsters. Some people play it the opposite, they flop a monster, and slow play it to

All I have to say is play SC (Suited Connectors) One Gappers, and obviously the premium hands. Just don't sit and wait for those premium hands. You have to be aggressive, so you don't get blinded out, and if you take a big hit like you did with the AA's well thats just how it goes. But be aggressive, be willing to gamble etc... If your not the aggressive type then the Turbo's I don't think are for you, and stick with MTT's or SNG's. Just my .02 GL

I disagree, I think with an unknown this is not a 3bet. Its an unknown at the table, no reads, its really a disadvatage to you, and an advantage for villian. Just sucks to be in a situation were you pick up bullets, and an unknown is at the table, and he is betting into you, and you just sit back and ask yourself, WHY??? But I play mostly NLHE, not limit so I could be wrong.
-
All I have to say, is I'm not getting away from this, and this situation would have been me putting the guy all in. I just can't see how you can fold this. But I guess your read was SPOT ON!!
-
These situations get fairly tricky, with the turn peeling off a club. Often than not your going to find two overs in this spot, I think the range you gave him is a good rang AK. I probably push the turn, and hope you doesn't call, and if he does call, hope he has one pair, or two pair, and no club draw. I don't see him calling your all in push with a club draw for pretty much his whole stack with one card to come. I push the turn, and hope he didn't catch the flush on the turn, and if so, hope you boat up on the river.

I don't know if what I said sounded confusing or not, I was in class while typing it early this morning. OP said that after villian re-pops his 2.5BB raise then its either push, or fold and find another hand to fight with. I think that after villian re-pops him, If he were to push, I wouldn't really flame him for it. And with the 2.5BB comment I was just saying my preference is a raise of 4 or 5 times the BB, thats my standard raise, and raising that much will define villians hand more than raising 2.5 I think, If OP raises 4 or 5 BB's here and villian re-pops him, what you would do, call,
-
Why raise it only 2.5XBB? I was saying raise it more around 4 or 5 times the BB, and I didn't post it, but no matter what the flop comes go ahead and push, But I guess pushing it all in preflop isn't a bad decision either, either way I was indicating your going to get your whole stack in with this hand.
-
I would raise more on the turn instead of just smooth calling, in these low limits you will find people like villian that may have a very weak holding, and I push villian all in on the river, I think more times than not your two pair is good here.
-
May be just a button steal with the 2.5XBB raise, might of thought that raise was weak, and wanted to test you. I push with this preflop, there is no calling, then folding the flop. I push, and with that you might get a fold by villian in this spot, and often than not, its going to be a coinflip. Next time don't raise just 2.5BB on the button with 10/10 3 handed, I make it around 4-5XBB.
-
Hmmm..... I don't know about the three bet with the AA's hand. Against an unknown you don't have any reads, don't know how he plays he could have raised preflop with JJ's QQ's QJ, for you know 55's, I think I just call here on the turn, and you'll be expecting a bet on the river from villian, in which its going to be read dependent on your part.

Does Everyone Else Go Broke In This Situation?
pokerguy33 replied to Al Smooth's topic in Tournament Play
I probably call the all-in bet as well. If the guy had AK, AQ, or AJ, I think he would have slow played it, or try to build a pot like you said. I call and hope he don't show A and any other card lower than a 9 or A7 -

Wasn't judging this player from one hand. I said he played the 22 hand horribly, and so did about 4 other people. And I didn't read the OP because I was just going on context clues from the title. But anyway...... -
Just Donked Off 4 Buy-ins On A Cash Game
pokerguy33 replied to Willing 2 Die's topic in General Poker Forum
Maybe you should buy some books on how to play cash games, if you are constintly not making anything in cash games, then something is wrong, and you may want to invest in a book that may clear up what your not understanding, between cash games and tourneys. Just some advice. -
