  1. high fives all around. goodnight all.
  2. Mike Matusow Wins! Hoyt Corkins has the button, he limps, Matusow raises to $60,000, and Corkins calls. The flop comes Ks-Js-4d, Matusow bets $60,000, Corkins moves all in, and Matusow immediately calls with Kd-9d (pair of kings). Corkins shows Qc-10c for an open-ended straight draw. Corkins needs a nine or an ace, or something runner-runner to stay alive. The turn card is the 2h, and Matusow is one card away from winning. The river card is the 3h, and Hoyt Corkins is eliminated in second place, earning $325,000.<b>Mike Matusow wins the 2005 <i>WSOP Tournament of Champions,</i&g
  3. I dont have class until 9am but I agree, FINISH THE DEAL MIKEY, US COLLEGE KIDS NEED OUR SLEEP!I agree.Except I have a 7AM class.
  4. Phil Hellmuth has been talking to ESPN in his exit interview, and (not surprisingly) he's had plenty to say. He started out by talking about how freaking lucky Hoyt Corkins has been, because he was pushing all in, all in, all in, and the very few times Hellmuth calls him with premium hands, Corkins has aces or something. He also pointd out that Corkins must have won 70-80% of their blind vs. blind situations. He said the general public won't even be able to comprehend how unlucky he got at this final table. He went on to say that this was among the top four performances he's ever had in a tour
  5. my family and i play a different way. one person is dealt a five card hand. that person has to say a poker hand, i.e. pair of sixes, ace high. the next person can draw anywhere from 1-5 cards, and must say a hand higher than the previous hand. at any time the next person can call a bluff, and if the hand doesn't match or beat the said said they lose a dollar (1 out of 3),this continues until there is only one person remaining.a cheaper, more time consuming way to play i admit.
  6. He's pretty good when there is 5000, 500 and 250 as well, Hell he's even good when there is 100. Was your post supposed to oopose the fact that he has a better tournament record then almost any pro if not all of them?He has some work to do on his HU, but you can't deny his consistent finishes are probably better than anyone elses in big tournaments.wow. i'd hate to play at a table with 250 people.
  7. bah, i made a long post and i may have read the quote wrong.oh well.
  8. I just got SSHE and HOH in the mail three days ago.I'm halfway through SSHE.If you any sort of HE player it is worth the investment.
  9. funny you should be calling someone an idiot.your post had nothing to do with the goal the OP is trying to attain. he wants to have an updated tab of DN's profit/loss in the WSOP overall.not how he does in each event.idiot.
  10. If I read the post correctly, I don't think he meant it was his 16 year-old who wanted to play, but moreso a random 16 year-old with 5k in his pocket trying to buy into a game.
  11. Congrats!I love kids but I can definately wait to have some of my own. 5 more years I'm thinking.
  12.     :dance:i'm kidding austin. no hard feelingshaha. 32/36 on the act here. woot!
  13. congrats that mommy and daddy pay for everything?for people that work, especially in college that $35 could be equivalent to 5 hours of work at some menial job.on top of tuition, books, and housing?hell if i sat down with $35 at stake i'm doing everything to win it all.
  14. After a flop of 9-4-3 with two hearts, Bob Stupak is all in with pocket sevens against Phil Ivey's Q-9 of hearts -- giving Ivey top pair with a flush draw. Stupak needs a seven to stay alive, but the 6 on the turn is close enough to give him a gut-shot straight draw. Needing a five or a seven, he watches a jack fall on the river, and Bob Stupak is eliminated in 27th place, earning $56,615. Phil Ivey has increased his huge stack of chips to $2,600,000, at a time when the average stack is about $870,000.
  15. I agree. Paul is getting on JJ now, it's generally a fun thing to watch and read. Paul Phillips has an avatar too, but he isn't in red so I'm assuming he isn't being compensated at this point.
  16. Congrats Kurt.As true for many other people I don't really know you, but it is good to see someone doing well from FCP.Best of luck, and bring us home a title.
