  1. Just wanted to update anyone who was looking to try this approach but waited too long...Caribbean and Interpoker just changed their bonus structures. They lowered the number of hands needed to clear the same bonus amounts, but upped the qualifier to hands where the rake is $1 or more. You won't be able to clear this one easy at $1/$2, and unless you have the BR to play $2/$4, it's going to take a long time to clear. Just as a test, I've been trying to clear Caribbean since it's a $40 bonus after 200 raked hands. So far I've played about 2500 hands at $1/$2 and have cleared 70 raked hands.
  2. I thought I read somewhere that the points are only used for bonuses and once you clear the bonus you no longer accumulate points.
  3. I just started a bonus whoring campaign to build my BR so I could start playing $4/$8 Texas Holdem consistently and reached the point in my bonus plan that took me to Pacific Poker. They have a crafty way of working their bonus that if I knew before going in, they would have been one of my final bonuses to clear. The bonus requires you to wager 200x your bonus amount before you can clear it. The affiliate bonus I'm getting through PSO requires 250 raked hands where a raked hand counts if $0.25 or more is raked AND I contributed any $$$ into the pot, so blinds and antes count. Also has to b
  4. I find your lack of faith in the Krablar disturbing! Although I will give you this much, even if this guy is pro-Krablar, he played it all wrong. Being suited I could see playing from the small blind, but you gotta raise with the Krablar or else you can't do the Krablar Dance!I just looked at my PokerTracker stats and saw my Krablar Preflop raise % is 75%...that can't be good
  5. Betting 120 on the flop is telling me you don't have an Ace, or that you are trapping with one or a set, but I haven't played you enough or read enough of your hands to make that judgment yet. Go ahead and bet out more on the flop. If someone then has Ace with a weak kicker (like your opponent does with A-9), you may get them to fold. A call has got to make you wary of an Ace out there. You can then check the turn (This only works consistently if you are known to check raise) and if your opponent bets strong, you know he's confident in his hand because he doesn't fear your check raise. If
  6. I played a maniac last week who was trying to cap every hand preflop that he could(and I mean every hand...his PF Raise % was 100%). I wasn't paying attention as much as I should have been when I got pocket Q's and the flop came 3-6-8 rainbow. Being the aggressive player I am against a maniac I got into a raising war and lost about $16 when he turned over 36o at the end. It was the first hand someone hadn't folded to this guy since I sat at the table (12 hands had been played before I got QQ). So I decided that if I could isolate this guy preflop with maybe one other player I would open up
  7. Like several who have posted here, it was the first book I read. I bought it along with Super Systems (the original) and after reading through the first part of the NL section of SS I felt it was a slow read because I found myself having to look back over things as I my only foundation for poker was what I had picked up from personal experience.Hellmuth's book reads very quick and easy. There's a lot on which he could expand, but I think that would take away from the value he gets from it being so easy to read and implement quickly. Like Rich mentioned, he was able to read the beginner's se
  8. You may want to add bet365poker to your list. It has a $50 bonus when you deposit at least $50. Only have to clear 250 raked hands @ $0.25 or more to clear it as well. I'd recommend doing this after the Crypto sites (Interpoker, Plex, and Sun) since you can use your winnings there to play $1/$2 at bet365 and clear it much faster. I cleared 150 hands in under 90 minutes. Single-tabled for most of the time...2-tabled for maybe 30 minutes at the $0.50/$1.00 table til I realized that less than 30% of my hands were clearing the rake.Currently I'm up to $550 just counting the initial $90 plus bon
  9. There's a few posts in this thread about WSOP winners who aren't that great but had a little bit of luck (or a lot in some cases) and enough skill to win a bracelet. It got me to thinking (yes I know that's a bad thing) that I will know that Poker has become fully mainstream as soon as VH1 comes out with a "Where are They Now..." for WSOP Main Event "flukes". Notice I put flukes in quotation marks. While I think Moneymaker and Raymer were both very lucky along the way to their wins (Moneymaker more so than Raymer), they both played many hands with considerable skill...it's tough to wade thr
  10. It's different for each site, but once you get the PIN, you use it for all transactions.
  11. No, it's not a spam attempt. Cryptocounter is a bit sneaky at first. They have a banner add in the middle of the application and in big letters below it says "Click Here to Start"...literally it means click on the text, not the banner add (I made that mistake and thought it was a spam attempt as well). I just started a bonus whoring campaign which starts at Interpoker and next goes to Caribbean Sun and Poker Plex, all of which are on the Crypto network. Crypto Counter has been invaluable in figuring our how many hands I have left to clear my bonus. Sorry I didn't get more specific in how
  12. To answer the original poster's question about counting raked hands at Interpoker or any of the crypto sites, you can use cryptocounter. You can get it at cryptocounter . com
  13. Not sure if they'll show it on ESPN, but the cameras were around on Day 2 of Event #2 when it got down to 3 tables. I don't remember the exact chip counts at the time, but Phil was short stacked and moved all in with 66 and Liz Leiu calls with KQo.I read this statement about idiots who call all ins with KQ and even though this is about Omaha, I found it hilarious because Phil's exact words when a Queen hit on the flop were, "What idiot calls off three quarters of their stack with K Q???" He actually remained pretty calm for a Hellmuth bust...guess he was just warming up.
  14. DC,In case you are still considering this I would also note that Interpoker, Caribbean Sun, and Poker Plex all use Ecash. After you open an account, they send you a PIN for all transactions via snail mail. It takes 8-10 business days to get it in the US. So you can't just move money in and out of the sites quickly. Since I can handle more than a $90 starting BR, I decided to just clear all 3 while I wait for my PIN. I didn't figure I'd play as much as I did this past weekend, so I thought I'd get the PIN around the same time I finished clearing all 3. Well I just finished clearing the Pok
  15. Since I work for the phone company where acronyms run wild I can usually decipher most of them, but one is used here quite often that I'm not picking up, so I'll ask the ignorant question:What does SSHE stand for?I originally thought it was referring to Super Systems Hold Em, but just read this statement in another post:"SuperSystem is NOT/NOT to be confused with SSHE by any means"Thanks!
