HubDub04 0
With the recent developments with Stars and FTP's paper checks and E-checks bouncing due to the New York's DA actively finding and shutting down the site's payment processors, does this mean that the sites will be forced to finally pull out of the US because of the inability to pay it's players their money?I personally have had 2 checks bounce (as of yesterday) and I had 2 checks pending cashout approval that have been credited back to my Stars account.Anyone else have a check that bounced or had any other issues? I'm starting to think it might be a long time until we can get money off. This really sucks.

NickZepp 0
I'm going to be safe and not put any more money on poker for a while and I'm sure a lot will. But it doesn't look as bad now as it did last night.
FCP Bob 1,320
http://www.gambling911.com/gambling-news/n...sor-060509.htmlSites have had their check processors closed down before and as long as the legal climate is the same in the US they'll have them shut down in the future but it isn't time for the sky is falling thoughts. What this should do is remind you that you may not have instant access to online money so you should plan accordingly. tbrick412 0
I'll just copy and paste what i posted on the other thread about this issue...I just read the entire 2p2 thread and it doesn't seem to be as bad as we initially thought, but it definitely doesn't mean good things in the future for online poker. The consensus opinion seemed to be that Stars has 5 american processors, and one of them got their account frozen. Whether their account was frozen by the government or for some other non-poker reason remains to be seen. I wouldn't read to much into that gambling911 article that was posted because they are the closest thing to an online tabloid. So basically if you have cashed out in the last week, there is a good chance you got the check from one of the bad processors... I wont say which one it is here, but you can PM or AIM me and I can tell you. Also just to be safe, email stars with your transaction and check ID# before you deposit, and they can let you know if it is safe, or to hold out for a few days.I wouldn't be surprised if Stars/FTP support got this all fixed up fairly quickly, as this isn't the first time they have had an issue with a payment processor. wolfman50 0
i just got one of these bad checks from full tilt a couple of days ago, however as i posted in the other thread they sent me an email saying that they had already fixed the problem and i could withdraw again via check. also, the bank transfer withdrawal option on tilt appears to be working fine atm. Balloon guy 158
If the government begins looking into the withdrawals of poker players they are going to share this info with the friendly IRS.So the real question is are you guys reporting your income?50% rake might be a rude wake up call. Why would it be so high? What about the standard progressive tax rate?
Jariso13 1
Is it really 50%? Why would it be so high? What about the standard progressive tax rate? No. Gambling winnings are included on the line other income on your 1040. You can also write off your losses up to your winnings if you itemize. But, as with any unreported income from prior years, if the IRS finds out that you didnt report it, they will assess penalties and charge you interest until you pay it and these add up. The statute of limitations is 3 years unless you understated your gross income by 25% in which case its 6 years.
