All-in at the 3/6 limit table

Recommended Posts

yeah 4 or 5 bets max without the nuts, would I go all-in or call all-in if this was NL with Queens Full? Of course, but limit is different, ppl don't generally go over 4 bets on the river without the nuts, it may happen once in a while like set over set with no flush/straight possibilities.

:club: I don't think I'd bet everything I have on any hand but the nuts, but I'd probably bet everything I had on me, but keep a few dollars for cab fare home just in case :D

:D:):D It's 1am on tuesday over here in Los Angeles and i missed being the bull shit buster by a few hours.Come on guys! This guy Is makin this up!I thought you guys were some poker players and smell this kind of stuff. Alot of you have written posts where you can't understand why the hand went down the way it did. You Can't understand it, CAUSE IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!Raising and reraising to put in $700 each? At a 3/6 game? In a B & M casino? Go with your first instincts about this story and write it off as fiction and lets move on :):club::D:):)

the guy with the flush, he reminds me of the kind of player I often find in omaha, with a hand like :clubsa: :diamonds2: :spadesj: :spades9: and the board will read: :clubs10: :clubs5: :clubs6: :clubs9: :diamondsq: , and he'll wonder "i have the Ace high flush, how did i lose to a King high flush?"

was this donkey drunk or something? Actually I witnessed something similar at the local harrahs last night. I thought I was about to see someone hit the bad beat jackpot. the board showed 7733Q and the heads up players kept raising and reraising eachother until after about 15 bets one guy just called. The man who wouldnt stop showed A3, for 3s full and the other guy couldnt believe the pot wasnt chopped when he showed a 7 and I dont remember his other card.People beez stoopid. I still cant believe the guy never stopped raising you with the nut flush on a paired board when he had 700 in front of him. Sounds like a joke. Im pretty suprised that you never slowed down either. there was only one hand that could beat you, but still

I just wanna know what was going through the other guys head...He was beat by Q7, 73, pocket threes, pocket queens, pocket whatever spade the river was, or any combo of the riv card with a 7... yet he felt the need to continue raising at you instead of just calling? I mean... all-in in $6 increments is a long ass time... you think he would have slowed down and just called with his 7th nuts.
This is precisely why, like many others, I would have stopped reraising around the 10th bet. I just wouldn't be able to get over the fact that it's very unlikely the opponent would be reraising over and over again with just the nut flush when so many hands can beat him. He had to have realized that. Guess tilt makes you do crazy things.I rarely give the typical poker player the benefit of the doubt but, in this case, I don't think I would have gone all-in.

where I play, you dont see that kind of crap(usually) unless someones got the nuts. I sat at a table where a friend of mine convinced an old timer to go all in when it was heads up in a limit game. But that was simply because the old timer had the ace high flush on an unpaired board and didnt notice the possibility of a straight flush("my friend proceeded to tell the guy, Ive got the king high, I dont think youve got the ace high",as he raised him, goodtimes). Dunno, Ive had yokels put in ten raises against me with top two pair when I have the nut straight. Still though, 700 dollars, I dunno, depends upon how the kid is playing. As far as the response of, the action didnt heat up until the river. Is any player going to go crazy when they hit their quads on the turn? Theyre usually going to wait until the river

haah wow, people continue to claim i made this up.... i didn't. This 18 year old kid was an absolute jerk who gave a crappy little analysis after every hand no matter what, and was basically a donator. I know it sounds wild and ALMOST unbelievable, but that's why I posted it.... With the circumstances, i knew my "2nd nuts" was the best hand.It took balls to keep reraising but after several signs of genuine hesitation early on in the raising, I knew i was golden and was going to get a ridiculous pot off of a absolute moron. I really don't think i can explain how illegitimate this guy was... Stupid shirt that said "Im all in!!!" missing half of his teeth and, well like i said, i can't even explain this guy.

I think you made the best move you could make, even if it was statistically incorrect. bottom line if the guy moved all inn on you in no limit you would have called, confident in your read, I mean no offense but how often are you up against quads, and from a player that you totally have a line on drop the bomb. Those players who wouldn't have made the play when they had a solid read are robots and will always be destined to a minimum profit.

No offense to the original poster, but something is bothering me here. Are you claiming to have won 375 big bets in 12 hours? Assuming 30 hands per hour ( a conservative estimate for low limit casino play), that means you were winning at a clip of 96 BB/100. Someone please correct my math if I'm a bit off, I'm in a rush.If that's accurate, congratulations. You have just combined skill with unbelievable luck for a huge session.

I know isn't it beyond wild?? Idk how no one else said anything about that yet, i was waiting for someone to ask.within the 1st hour of being there i had the nuts when i held AK an the Flop came A K A turn 9 river blank. The SAME guy had A 9 and i took down about a $350 pot... One other guy couldn't fold his QQ till the river for some mind boggling reason.also, 30 hands per hour is way off... it was a super tight table except about a select 3 loose cannons.... honestly, i think we were looking more like a 50 per hour.... a dealer once commented saying WOW I HAVENT DEALT ONE RIVER CARD YET

a dealer once commented saying WOW I HAVENT DEALT ONE RIVER CARD YETThat's crazy. I've never sat at a 3-6 table that didn't go to the river at least every third hand, usually every other hand is the norm.

ahah i know, the dealer, who's actuall my buddy was saying after his shift that he coulda made more money than I did at that "call call fold" table. He Literally didn't deal a river till 25 minutes into his session lol. Basically all NL kids and older men including one gentleman that didn't know you could check... seriously.

I had hand like this once. My first live session at the Bellagio in Vegas. I sit 4/8 with $100 and the BB was on me when I sat down so I posted while the runner grabed me a rack. No love for me on that hand so I folded. Very next hand I pick up JJ, one limper from MP and the cutoff raises. I think for a second and decide to 3 bet to isolate the cutoff. Sure enough it works and the cutoff just calls. The flop is J2x (don't remember the other card but I had top set) with 2 spades. I bet out, the cutoff raises me, I reraise and he calls. the turn brings the K:spade:. I bet out again hoping he was playing AK and not a couple spades. Well doesn't the bugger start mouthing off saying things like, "You're dead son, I got you, etc." and then he puts in a raise. So here I am looking at a $78 pot, with a set of Jacks and I'm looking at a raise on the turn. I figure there are two possibilities at this point, He's got A:spade:x:spade: or he's got KK. Now I know he doesn't have KK or he'd have 4 bet preflop or bet his overpair harder on the flop (from the little I've seen of this guy he doesn't strike me as tricky enough to play KK the way he's played his hand) so I have him on an A high flush. I'm getting 9.75:1 to make the call and I figure I'm only about 3.5:1 dog so I make the call. The board pairs the deuce on the river so I bet out. Big talker raises me and still won't shut up about how he can't lose the hand. Needless to say I keep reraising until all of my $96 is in the pot, much to the awe of some dude on the rail waiting for no-shows for "O". Finally Mr. Big Mouth flips over A:spade:9:spade: with a huge grin on his face and then I slam down the 3rd nuts with a bigger grin on mine. The dealer pushes the pot my way and Mr. Big Mouth goes crazy almost yelling at the dealer that the chips were going to the wrong player. The dealer gets a really puzzled look on his face and calmly says to him, "Uh, sir, a full house beats a flush." Mr. Big Mouth sits back down in his chair and say "F*** I didn't even seen the F***in' board F***in' pair!"Definately the most memorable hand I've played.

haha ya, basically the same situation as mine, but i had a bigger moron willing to risk 7 times more money haah
Yeah, I've have given anything to have bought in for more. I had two black chips in my pocket from an earlier blackjack session but I was just planning for a short session at the table (couple hours max) and only bought in for $100. Dumb, dumb move, I know. The guy had me covered by about $100 too. I meant to congradulate you on your play in that hand but got carried away with my story. Nothing better than taking a guy like that to school.

didn't someone say it was only 5 or 6 raises? i know it was like $600, at $6 increments, but i thought i read that in one of the posts.I once saw a guy at 5/10 raise/reraise 7 times, thinking he had the ace-high flush (board was 3-3-5-Q with 2 spades) but actually was just on the draw (old man, bad eyes) and even more amazingly, the other guy had AQ, and won the hand!similar thing, i saw it get 5-bet on the river with the board 4-4-7-10-J and 4 diamonds on the board. winning hand was J-7, losing hand was J-K, neither contained a diamond.if you're playing against crap, don't be afraid to raise and reraise until you're absolutely sure he's got the nuts. i probably cost myself $100 at a 5/10 game, by only calling my opponent's 4-bet with JJ on the board of 3-4-7-7-J, and he only had 7-5.don't we all love bad beat stories and other people's poker experiences? i can almost picture the cringing reading these stories because they're so annoying. anyways, just thought i'd give some examples. its not NL, so the worst thing that can happen to a raiser is to get reraised, you won't have to call an all-in!cheers,danielp.s. where's the math nerds saying his 11000bb/100 rate is not sustainable? well he sustained it for 1 hand didn't he? haha.

This doesn't have much of anything to do with the topic, but hopefully the OP or someone else can help me out with this.I was wondering what the poker room situation at Soaring Eagle is. I haven't been for several months and last time I went there were 12 tables. As far as hold'em went they had 3/6, 6/12, and 10/20 games being played with a constantly empty column on the board for a 20/40 game.I had heard through a quite possibly incorrect source that they were turning that slot building across from the main casino into a poker room. If that or anything similar to that is true, can someone fill me in on the details?
