Jon Jones refusing to fight again. **** him. It is funny to see Dana not be able to boss someone around. Jones can pretty much do whatever the hell he wants and he won't get in trouble. Still, **** him though

There goes about 3/4 of a years worth of winnings.

Seats - There are no good seats (unless you are ringside). We had floor seats 11 rows from the ring... pretty close and I paid quite a bit. I couldn't see shit. You can't see over other people's heads

1) Jon ducking Glover.

2) They're in a weird Mexican Standoff.

The UFC is the premier promotion on earth. Anything else is a pretty huge step down not only in pay but prestige and recognition.

Their strategy has been very aggressive pursuit of the best of the best of the best fighters. It's worked. Jon Jones is undeniably a jewel in that crown but there has to be a point where they just say "OK, enjoy your rematch with Rampage in Bellator..."

They absolutely do blackball fighters. Daley, apparently Askren. It would be interesting to see it happen to a major champ who let his head get too big. Whether its in their best interests to do that who knows, but I can definitely see them doing it.

Tangent: I hope Roy Nelson stays in the UFC for a few more years. Age has always been his enemy, he's never going to beat top guys, that ************ has cost me thousands of dollars but I really hope he isn't reduced to knocking out hobos at the World Series of Fighting.

You like any moneylines on fighters today amscray? I think you like Rashad right? I'm a little nervous about him since I lost a pretty big bet when he lost to lil Nog

I bought some Rashad earlier before the line got to -200.

Looks like I'm going to win Leites straight but I bet small.

I have about $200'ish worth of Cerrone.

This probabaly means retirement or Bellator for him, 3 consecutive L's + age 35.

There's a video of him floating around showing him living a lifestyle that is absolutely, positively unsustainable once the UFC checks stop, so it should be interesting to see what he does.

I hate him.

True story; the one flier I had in the basket for this fight but didn't take: $10 on Lawler by D @ +1650.

Can't get caught up in results oriented thinking, though. Those kinds of fliers have been a leak and -ev so I pass on them now but sweet mother of god, it's annoying as **** when one hits.

I've loved Rory for a while, didn't think Robbie had a chance. Weird fight, but Rory needs to assert himself more in the first round. He'll come back stronger. He's never going to fight GSP, so it was redundant if they both win, but still a huge surprise.

I don't care for the "co-main event" titles in general, but hyping this old-man fight up for it was dumb. I like Chael as a talker, but let's stop giving him important fights and promoting his fighting style. He has no business sniffing title shots anymore.

I mean, that's a terrible decision, right? I had Jonny 4-1. I could see one other round going GSP's way just because of who he is, but two judges saw two other rounds for him? Yuck.

Him in limbo is also gay. Interim belts are annoying. Dominick Cruz still has a belt!

All true.

4-1 Hendricks, maybe 3-2 but giving the actual win to GSP is an impossibly bad decision.

Dana White on post fight seemed 0% receptive to GSP retiring or going on 'hiatus' (which is obviously just GSP's emotional reaction to getting handed his ass by a superior fighter, receiving the shocking benefit of an enormous injustice and not wanting to come back and face the music).

If he pulls that shit, they need to take away the strap and let him do whatever the **** he wants. Come back and fight for it, go away and retire, go to another promotion, who cares. These faggots who spend entire years without a single title defense need to be eliminated. All UFC contracts should contain a provision that if a fighter wins a title, he must defend it at least twice per year. Champions obligation. If training injury causes you to miss one of your two mandatory fights, you have 90 days to make it up or else you're stripped. No "interim' title, no horseshit. You might get first shot to fight for your own vacated title, you might not.

The biggest injustice here would be if GSP actually gets to stall an extra year out of his title reign at the expense of a man who just legitimately beat his ass.

What prevents the MMA from having their own scoring officials. Why do they have to use the Nevada commission? IS there some sort of law or something? If so, I would just take the UFC out of the country till the laws change and have their own officiating staff.

GSP can't remember portions of the fight. That is called brain damage. Tell him he's entertained you enough.

Yes. In Nevada, MMA is regulated kinda like boxing.

Back in the stone age of MMA, there were only a few states* that allowed that kind of fighting.

State by state, MMA proponents had to go and work with legislators to get it legalized as a sport (since it was generally governed by antiquated laws about fighting, written before MMA became a serious sport). Part of the concession they made to some states was allowing SACs oversight in judging and officiating. Typical bureaucrat job creation.

Professional MMA is still illegal in New York.

* = Not nessacarily proactively 'allowed' but more on the basis of no existing rules to govern two guys who wanted to get in a ring and beat each others brains in. That's why UFC's 1 & 2 were fought in Colorado, 3 & 5 in North Carolina, 4 in Oklahoma, other states like Alabama and Wyoming... Back then, those were the states that had essentially no laws regulating full contact combat sports whereas MMA ("human cockfighting" was the legislative buzz word back in the day used by opponents) was illegal in most other states.

GSP himself is receiving kinda-sorta unfair hate right now.

The man has always been a total class act. Yes, this was an unjust decision but whatever. Being the beneficiary of a bad beat is what it is. It's all part of playing the game, shitty judging is to MMA what runner-runner is to poker. Sometimes, it happens. If you don't whine when you take a bad beat, you're not obligated to feel guilty when you dish one out.

Also, since so much buzz is surrounding the bad decision itself, somewhere in the fog is lost the fact that it was not a dominant victory. Hendricks won, but GSP showed pretty damn strong through the entire fight, post-fight burgerface notwithstanding.

Where he deserves hate is if he actually tries to stall more days onto his title reign.

It's unfair to hate him for rivering the gutshot.

If I were in charge of any sort of 'rankings', though, I would rank Hendricks as the #1 Welterweight in the world, ahead of the champion.

Read this earlier. How can he possibly fight again?

Did anyone see where it looks like Hendricks taps out in the first. I remember seeing it but I dismissed it because the announcers didn't mention it, but someone asked me about it today and I remember that it definitely looked like a tap
