There goes about 3/4 of a years worth of winnings.

Seats - There are no good seats (unless you are ringside). We had floor seats 11 rows from the ring... pretty close and I paid quite a bit. I couldn't see shit. You can't see over other people's heads

I think Nate is hungry to avenge that last penalty ridden fightKappman is moving up a step here, yes? Man 3 weeks is too far away
I'm sure that Nate feels robbed to have lost his last match. Nate is definitely champion material. He's just in a division where the guy who holds the belt doesn't seem to have any weaknesses which is a shame for Nate. I guess it's a step up for Kampan. It's a great fight any way that you look at it though.3 weeks is waaaay too far away.I'm also not happy about the UFC having fights in other states and the possibility of having it in more countries. There is nothing in this world like going to a UFC in Vegas, especially when you have good seats. Words cannot describe. Seriously.

I think that Marquardt is one of the most underrated fighters out there. Don't get me wrong, I like Kampman and he trains with a great camp (Couture). So his combo of kickboxing (his natural ability), and now grappling, are very good. But I think Marquardt has yet to show us how good he really is.

If we agree that Nate is the favorite, Why is Kampmann even money? I don't understand why he's the only underdog on the 88 line whose odds of winning are greater than the favorite's odds of losing.

What site are you getting odds from? Can you post them?

Are you saying even money for one guy and -130 for another, is an arbitrage situation?
I'm just saying I don't understand why the odds are so different. On one hand they are saying Kampmann (Even) will win 50% of the time and on the other hand they're saying Marquardt (-140) will win 58% of the time. There may be an obvious reason, but I'm new to sports betting.

Thats the profit margin for the sportsbook aka the juice, the vig. In alot of sports its about 10% like in football where you have to bet $110 to win a $100 profit. In MMA the juice is 15%. If a fight is a coinflip at the sportsbook you will see a line like -115/-115meaning you have to bet $115 to win $100. And yes the juice is ridculas in mma.

Ah I understand. I actually misread the line and thought they were offering a really good bet on Kampmann, but obviously they have him as worse than even money to win.

Looks like Lesnar/Kongo at 91 in November. Also Florian/Stephenson in a fight that Florian has everythin to lose and nothing to gain. And what if Stephenson wins, does he get the next crack at Penn even though he was slaughtered by him less than a year ago?

ffs. I'm going to be in Vegas that weekend, and I was praying that 91 was going to be there. LFT.

Ok, just because the olympics are going on does not mean that we need to stop talking about MMA. What is wrong with you guys. Lots of sweaty men who fight in cages to discuss.

Anyone else really like Henderson over Tequinho? I mean, Hendo obv has the stand up and with his wrestling he should be able to avoid any strong BJJ if he wants to, right? It seems too basic, but I can't come to any other outcome.

A. Silva RNC'd him.

A. Silva might be the best fighter in the world.
But we're talking sbout jits and Palh is pretty good at thatAnd imo, A. Silva is benefitting from a weak divsionRecall his fight with Lutter, and Lutter has no gasSilva is awesome; but I'd like to see more of him against Top Level bjjNo doubt he's the supreme striker in mma

You can make a point for both sides. I honestly don't know what Palheres's stand up is going to be like. Silva was able to inflict striking damage and then secure a rnc on Henderson. This is a lot more effective I would assume. However, Palheres is better at BJJ then Silva. Palheres looks like a really tough guy. Brazilian Top Team is a great place to train. I wish I knew more about him other than his submission over a has been like Salavery. I don't mean that in a disrespectful way. I like Salavery a lot, but I think he is way past his prime. You also want to factor in who the UFC wants to win. Palheres, if he puts on a great performace and submits or even does damage and gets a victory over Henderson is huge. They are looking for someone to beat or at least give Silva a run for his money. Sadly, I don't think Cote is going to be that guy. Same is true for Griffin for Sherk. UFC definitely wants Griffin to win. I don't think Griffin has a great chance against Penn. But we know what happens in a fight with Penn vs Sherk. So the UFC wants to see Griffin win. These are things to consider.........Not deciding factors, just part of the equation.

I agree. And not for any sense of shadiness; but more from the fighter's own motivation point of view. If you know you're perceived as a gatekeeper or recently had your chance in a deep division, well, where's your drive going to come from. It takes a more special competitor to keep it going once you're off the track.I'm interested to see what the UFC does with Gray MaynardHe beat Frankie very decisively. MMath says he's a top contender; but obv we need to see more.next time he fights is Oct 25 vs Rich Clementi, a serius veteran with a solid string latelyHopefully being with Xtreme Couture does not retard his progressFootball season starting soon and unbeliveable UFC cards to boot, is this what Heaven is like?

- ELITEXC CONFIRMS KEN SHAMROCK VS KIMBO ON CBSWith less than six weeks to go before EliteXC’s next CBS-EliteXC Saturday Night Fights event, speculation has been ongoing as to who Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson will face on Oct. 4. That speculation can now be put to rest as MMAWeekly.com has confirmed with EliteXC vice president Jared Shaw that Kimbo will face UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock.Much attention was drawn recently to EliteXC’s cancelling of its Sept. 20 event in New Mexico, the company stating that it was necessary to do so to focus its promotional efforts on the pivotal Oct. 4 event on CBS. Shaw supported that statement in confirming Ken Shamrock, saying, “We were clearing the runway for Oct. 4 and we’re landing with some heavy artillery. Kimbo emerged as king of backyard brawls and is a YouTube sensation, now he wants to lay claim to the title of ‘The World’s Most Dangerous Man.’”Though Shamrock is well past the peak of his career – he’s currently on a five-fight losing streak – the facts are that he has a record of 26-13-2, he has been in this sport since before Kimbo left his teenage years, and the strongest part of his game, submissions, is one of the weakest areas for his opponent.“Shamrock is by far the toughest test of Kimbo’s young career,” added Shaw. “He is no stranger to big, tough fights. Ken realizes this is his opportunity to add a storybook finish to an illustrious career. He says he’s seen holes like Swiss cheese in Kimbo’s game.”Indeed, Shamrock has been fighting since before the first Ultimate Fighting Championship event, emerging first for Pancrase in Japan before being called upon to fight in a one-night, eight-man tournament at UFC 1 that also included that night’s eventual champion, Royce Gracie… in 1993.EliteXC is looking to capitalize not only on Kimbo’s unique appeal as a “YouTube sensation,” but also on Shamrock’s background as one of the forefather’s of the sport.“We see a tremendous fight for the casual MMA fan that has caught on to guys like Kimbo, while at the same time appealing to the hardcore fans who have grown up with Ken Shamrock,” said Shaw. “We feel this will test Kimbo and the maturation of his MMA game. Ken being a veteran of the game is going to look to expose Kimbo’s weaknesses. It’s time for Kimbo to show his continued growth and the knowledge that he now has, and put himself in a situation for the biggest victory of is career.”It is no secret that EliteXC has attached itself to the popularity of the Kimbo train and wants to use that popularity to make sure that the pivotal Oct. 4 event on CBS is a ratings success. A win for Kimbo would be a tremendous boost for the promotion in the casual fan’s eyes due to Shamrock’s name recognition. “It’s pretty simple. For Kimbo Slice, he wants to become the world’s most dangerous man and he wants to become the future EliteXC heavyweight champ. The only way for him to achieve those two things is going through Ken Shamrock,” Shaw stated. But what happens if Shamrock derails Kimbo? What does Shaw see for the future if Shamrock’s experience prevails?“If Ken Shamrock wins this fight, he’s on top of the world again. He’s once again proven that he is the most dangerous man in the world. He beat the guy that many consider one of the most unpredictable and dangerous striker’s in the heavyweight division.”In addition to Shamrock and Kimbo, Shaw also confirmed to MMAWeekly.com the rest of the main card, set to air live on CBS. Jake Shields will make the first defense of his EliteXC welterweight title when he faces British fighter Paul Daley, Gina Carano returns to face Kelly Kobald, and Benji Radach makes his promotional debut fighting former EliteXC middleweight champion Murilo “Ninja” Rua. If time permits Shaw added that a second female bout, between Cristiane “Cyborg” Santos and Yoko Takahashi, would also air on CBS.

The only non gimmick fight on that card is toast as KJ Noons is refusing to fight Diaz. I will be watching the Kimbo fight close for any signs of shenannigans. If it goes to the ground this time Kimbo will be tapping.

Quoted for WAT??? That might have been one of the most retarded things I've read in a while.
