So I mentioned to CNN that they should include the fact that Mr. Frist has recieved $50,000.00 worth of contributions from Harrahs. And that Harrahs earnings were up $1.7 Billion since the act this quarter. And that the next time they did a story about this situation they might consider pointing that out.Their response ...."Thank you for taking the time to submit your comments on the "Top Stories" of the day on CNN.com! It is very important for us to know what our viewers are feeling and we value your response. This is how we are able to consider changes that will appeal to you, our valued viewer.Due to the volume of emails we receive, we do not personally reply to emails sent through this section. However, we pride ourselves in making the opinions of our viewers known to CNN senior management and producers. Your comments will be part of the Viewer Response Report provided to our news division."

I understand people are still very angry at Bill Frist, but he's no longer in Congress and has bowed out of an attempt to run for the White House in '08. There are many more constructive ways to try to change the law than to focus your anger on someone who longer has the power to do so. A good start is calling your congressman and senators and voicing your opinion. I worked as an intern in the Senate in college, and the feedback from those phone calls really do make their way up the chain.

I can certinly understand that. And I assure you that I have written letters to all of my congressmen etc. However, where do you think he's going to spend that $50,000.00. While I don't think he has any hope of winning the White House, I will do anything I can to ensure it.That is all.

You don't have to worry about him ever being elected president. His behavior in the Terry Schiavo incident alone trashed his credibility with a very large segment of the population. He flip-flopped on the subject of stem cell research only when it became apparent that public support was largely in favor. Despite being a Harvard-educated physician he refused to confirm on television that HIV cannot be transmitted through sweat and tears as a government document claimed, even though virtually every scientific study has concluded that it cannot. He may have sold stock that was in a blind trust in advance of poor earnings reports that caused the stock to drop, possibly violating SEC regulations. The man is thoroughly unelectable.

Frist is not running. Old News: "Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist of Tennessee said he has put aside plans to run for the White House in 2008, and instead will return to medicine and the health-care field that helped launch his political career 12 years ago."Rest of article:http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2006/11/29/f...esidential-bid/If you want to bet Frist running, I am taking offers.

That $50,000 had nothing to do with the internet bill. That's just for conspiracy theories. He's the leader of the Senate and thinking of running for president......you better give him some money if you're smart. Harrah's is just a smart business, that's all that $50k had to do with.

Your email got me fired up about this again so I emailed a friend of mine who is a producer at the Nancy Grace show. It's a legal topic's show, so maybe he can shoot the idea out there and maybe it will go somewhere. If the idea flies, I'll post the air date.

Nancy Grace has got to be hands down the worst show on television. IMO that is.

How much money would it take for your friend to take a **** in her cofee?? I despise Nancy Grace with a passion and have emailed her network and her show many times.

Make no mistake. CNN has no desire what so ever to get the story right. They care only of forwarding their agenda. The standard reply you received is more evidence of that...

It disturbs me that there are people who actually creating their political affiliations on whether or not they are for or against online poker. That should be about #572 on your list of things that are important when choosing to support a candidate.

You are correct. Though he has recently said that he wasn't running for president, Harrah's probably donated to all political leaders and anyone even considering running for office. OP Let me ask you a question. What were there, 10K people in the main event last year? How many do you think will be in it this year? Harrah's has the WSOP, there will be a major drop off this year, can you guess why? Where is Harrah's going to benefit from the ban of online poker?

Not on poker, but on the issue of if our government has the right to make decisions about what an adult can do in their own free time. I have a mother, I don't need George W. or anyone else deciding what is okay or not okay for me to do.

If the casino's really think that internet gambling is bad for them I feel that have it all wrong. I think the internet is the breeding ground for thier next generation of live players. Players that otherwise may have never played.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for keeping our rights and I'm disturbed about that topic as well. But as I said before there are hundreds of other things involving personal freedoms that should be addressed before worrying about whether or not you can play poker online.
