RyanM 0
Never stayed there...played there for awhile though. It's San Remo with a facelift and SR was always a dive, so it's kinda ehhh. It's certainly not far from the strip (basically shares a parking lot with Tropicana) and right within close walking distance to MGM, Trop, Excalibur, etc. Poker room is very small (2 or 3 tables) with a $1/$2 NL game with $50 min, $200 max buy in. It was pretty rocky when I was there.
moayer 0
just across the street from mgm. it's the old san remo casino. i dont think they did much to renovate the place. looks like they just changed the color scheme, though i did not venture inside."google maps is the best"
xxxmen 0
Never been to Hooter's Casino, but I highly recommend going to Hard Rock on a Sunday during the day. It's an oasis with Cabana's and eye candy everywhere. It's called REHAB Sundays(see pics on site for juicy details). There's a lineup at 9am for this. Check there site out for more info! It's a crazy party there! I heard Ceasar's Palace is also good!

grbs1605 0
I stopped in when it was still the San Remo, not more than two years ago mind you. We stopped just to go in and play some blackjack and get the 5.99 steak, which I was told was not worth 5.99. Anyway at the time they did not have the card readers on the blackjack tables ala Mirage, nor did they even have the mirrors...they had to actually lift up the cards and peek to see if they had blackjack!!! I had not seen this before since I had never traveled too far off the strip and didn't notice these old school tables downtown either. The place made the Barbary Coast look like a palace. grocery_mony 8
if you stay at binions ask not to stay in the room where it took them over a week to figure out there was a dead hooker in the boxspring matress

I'm not really worried about the location. I'd rather have a nicer room and take a daily cab ride to the strip.

LAPoker 0
We were in town a few months back and a buddy of ours thats a dealer there hooked us up with a cheep rate. Everything else in town was around $250 a night. Anyway the room was allright, it is just off the strip, it definitely isn't the Bellagio. The important thing is that it is in a decent area of town. You have to be carefull in Vegas, because there are definitely some bad areas especially near downtown.
DB10-2 0
it's about a block off the strip, just south of the trop and across the street from MGM, kind of on the western end. it's relatively far from bellagio, casear's, venetian, wynn, and places like that. i didn't go in, but i also heard it was nothing special. nutzbuster 7
Tuscany Suites.Just behind Ballys. Very nice for the money and relatively cheap and very close to center strip.Have fun.edit: weekends look expensive. forget it. must be a convention in town...
Speedy Petey 0
Binions is a dump and you have to take a $12-15 cab ride to the strip. Hilton is way to far North. I stayed at the San Remo 2 years ago and it is alright. The staff was rude but f'em. I am going next week and will be staying there(Hooters) again. Got a great deal on Expedia and you can walk to a lot of great strip casinos in 10-15 minutes.

And then apologize after you almost start a fight? Then comp you breakfast?Benny Binion baby. But it is a dump. Hear it's still better than the Plaza.
jbage007 0
hooters hotel/casino is just like a hooters restaurant, only with a hotel and a casino and a pool no matter where you stay, you're always far away from where you want to be(you may have to think about that one for awhile) you wanna play some poker? then forget hooters--their "poker room" looks like it used to be the janitor's closetof course, it IS right across from MGM which is one of the top 5 places to play (along with the B, the mirage, the wynn, and caesar's, although the venetian is giving everyone a run for their money now).hands down, the hippest place to stay anywhere close to the Strip is...the new Fantasy Tower at the Palmsjust don't even think about playing poker there (although sometimes you can get lucky and catch a decent NL game there)HR is already going downhill after Morton sold it off (IMO)you could even try the Westin right across from Bally's but actually why not just do Bally's? it's cheap enough (usually) and right smack dab in the middle of everything (along with the Flamingo, Paris, the B, Caesar's, blah blah blah)well, just have fun, that's the main thing
