hostile 0
Hey guys, ever since qualifying for the WCP on PS i've been playign HU.I've been playing $50 HU with only a $1000.00 Bankroll that is actually borrowed from a friend because I cashed mine out and went to myrtle beach/vegas for 3 weeks.Anyways, I've been killing the $50 HU. I play 2 at a time and have been keeping in depth stats.I'm 96-50, and have gone 35-15 over my last 50. My question is, when would be a good time to move up to the $100 ones. The play at the $50 is horrendous, but what about the $100. I have played 5 $100's in the past and won 4 of them, but in my experience the play up there is 10 X better than at the $50.What would be a good BR to have to play $50 and handle the swings, how about $100? I had my first low point today in all week, I lost 3 in a row...but then i rattled off 10 wins in a row.shawn...
grocery_mony 8
very respectable record. I would keep it at this level fo a couple hundred more matches and see if your still a winning player. it will also give you more BR to tryout a higher level

pokerplayer24 0
I'd want at least 5k before moving up to 100$ HU matches.I'm assuming you're up something like 1500$ right now to put your br at 2.5k. So i'd most likely look to put in another 200-300 before moving up.

MasterLJ 0
That record is insane.I'm almost borderline ready to call you a liar.Lying aside, if you are legit... $50 plays a LOT like $100. Move up now.You are at 65%. Most respectable sites rake 5% for HU play.That means in 100 games you net:Total Buy Ins = 50 x 100 = 5000Winnings = 65 x 100 = 6500rake = 2.5 x 100 = 250Net winnings = 6500 - 5000 - 250 = 1250 / 100 games or 12.50 per gameThat's crushing. Move up now.not so sure the profit is that high. 55-50 breaks u even w the juice. so he is 31 games over .500. 31X 50 bucks = 1550. profit of 1550 dollars. 1550/146games = 10.2dollars profit per game. seems like a small profit for such a high risk. your only profiting 20% of your risk

I read in one of Sklansky's books once (maybe TOP) that if your opponent were to go allin every hand, you still could only expect to win a little less than 2/3 of the time (with a typical blind structure). Needless to say if your opponents did that they would as successful if not a little more against you.I think his profits should look like this:96 wins * $100 = 9600146 tourneys * $52.50 = 7665Proft = 1935ROI = 25.2% - very good for HUIf that really is your record, move up to $100. koa 0
whats up hostile...I play these 50 hu matches all day, I got about 1800 matches logged two tabling for about 730 hours... but I play the 4 man hu tourneys not the one table tourney so bank roll needs maybe different but should n't be that much off, 2000 down swings can happen so if ur planning grinding long term in these games i would reccomend at least 2000 .... looks like u won about 65% of ur games... pretty damn good but not even Johhny Chan would be able to keep that up long term... long term if u are good its around mid 50's so i would tailor ur expectations to aboutt that range....for 4 man tourney u want to win 30% of more to make it worth ur time....also 1000 dollars for the 100 hu games, sorry to say that can be lose on pretty much one bad day... but it looks like ur hot right so its up to u... . gl
MasterLJ 0
I like to standardize my heads up winnings against 100 games, but to each his/her own.I'm not sure how you can say making $1250 bucks after rake after 100 games isn't awesome. You could very easily play 100 games in a week (13 / day) and make $5000/month. That's probably more than a lot of people make at their 9-5.Also, I wouldn't expect too much of a decline in win rate at the $100.Conservatively let's say you drop to 60%.Now for 100 games:Buy in: 100 x 100 = $10000Wins = 60 x 200 = $12000Rake = 100 x $5 = $500net profit / 100 games = 12000 - 10000 - 500 = $1500 / 100 games.Kinda thinking/typing out loud here. Maybe it is better to stay at the $50.
Canary3 1
I would think there is no reason for you to move up to the $100s. If the play is so bad in the $50 and you are making a killing like you say..... stay at the fifty and make tons of money!
hostile 0
just a little update....went on a bad swing for a bit..but rallied it off with 4 wins in a row, then 2 losses, then 6 wins in a row.new record is: 110 - 58.and yes this is legit and at $50 HU single tables, not the 4 mans. Anyone want me to get my stats sent to them from PS i'd be more than willing.and if anyone is willing to talk poker/bs or what not on msn add me: ilovemilfs@hotmail.comand for the math nerds out there...110 X 50 = 5500 (winnings)58 X 50 = 2900 (losses)168 X 2.5 = 420 (rake)Total: 5500 - 2900 - 420 = 2180 (profit) that's just the last 4 days of playing.shawn...
