I Have shopped dell because of coupon but need to know what size screen other specs that are necessary in order to play multitables. I have a desktop but need something for poker that the wife won't play on all day.

Bubba83 0
Honestly, just get a cheap used one off ebay. I trust anything from Dell/Gateway/Sony Vaio and i'd say go for 500mhz plus. If you buy new it's going to cost like 5x more and will be way more than you need to run online poker.

I want to get something really nice, and preferrably get a 4 monitor set-up for easy 10+ tabling. I've heard Dell is ****, what computers/monitors are good?Im looking for something kind of excessive. DonkSlayer 1
I was just about to say "save money" but if it's not a problem then don't worry about it.I would say get the biggest screen possible, and if you have a Dell certificate, get one that they label "desktop replacement." A word of advice....I got a laptop almost specifically so I could carry it around and do stuff while I'm running tables. This is a mistake. If I'm looking to play seriously and make some money, I sit down at a desk and plug it in and use a mouse. It's very hard to concentrate when it's on your lap and you're watching TV. I only carry it around if I'm in a tourney and I have to do other things during it.GL

I specifically bought it because i thought it did 1600 x 1200, but im apparently a moron because there is no 1600 x 1200 setting in the display properties. However, you can get rid of that.Do yourself a favor and spend the extra $$$ to max out the available ram.

XX44466XX 0
i have an old laptop but i just recently purchased a 17" LCD flatscreen monitor and a splitter so now I can play off 2 screens SMOOTHLY. No_Neck 0
I just got a new Dell laptop and I love it, I don't remember what I got but it was the cheapest one I could upgrade. Make sure it is a WUXGA screen

Suited_Up 2
Dell XPSI only have first hand knowledge of the desktops, cause I recently got an XPS 400, but I have heard good things about the laptops too.Jon, don't believe the dell sucks BS... Go look at ratings... the XPS's are awesome.Get the one I have, or if you really want a crapload of power, get the 600, although I think i'ts mostly uneccesary. Then get whatever monitors you want.Unless you really wanna go high-end, then get Alienware. jayboogie 0
Personally I'd get the laptop that's the lightest and most portable without sacrificing too much performance. It's real annoying lugging around a heavy laptop and the ones that give you that resolution on a 17" are very heavy, along with just about all the Dell ones too. Make sure you get some kind of service plan for your laptop as they are very fragile and will breakdown. It's also very expensive to fix even the smallest things. For monitors, I'd recommend the Dell 2001 FP, pretty much everyone that has it loves it.
cen 0
I have an inspiron 9300 17" widescreen from dell... I got it for around $1,100 and it is awesome. Max native res on the widescreens will not allow you to 4-table without overlap, but the overlap isn't bad at all.If you are going to be using additional monitors to hook up to the laptop get a couple of the dell 2005fpw 20.1" widescreens (every 4 months you can stack coupons, I got mine for $355 shipped) or if you want to spend money get the 24" widescreen (around $800) or the 30" that just came out ($1800-$2,100)...I have my laptop hooked up to the 2nd input in my 20.1" so I have both the 17" screen and the 20.1" monitor to use at the same time and 8-tabling is easy.I use dell everything (laptop, 2 monitors, and a desktop) and haven't had any problems at all.If you buy a laptop I would be a fresh format on it the first time you turn it on just because they preload a bunch of crap on the systems. But any dell laptop you buy you will be fine with, go with either the inspiron or xps line, then just add a second monitor and you'll be 8-tabling away in no time...I can post some pictures of the setup if anyone is interested! ROGUE06 0
I just got a new Toshiba laptop that will be used for college next year. So far I am very satisfied with it. My dad got me a good deal on it too, from Office Depot. It is like a $1100 laptop, but is an older model. Well anyways it was on sale for like $800 and had a $300 rebate plus a $50 gift card so I made out really well. It is a 15" 1280x1024 screen with a 1.6GHz celeron. It has 512mb ram and 60 GB hardrive. Just look around, it is pretty easy to find a good deal, just don't go for the brand new version since it will be outdated soon anyways. What did you to to get such a high resolution? What video card/screen do you have? Can you post your specs? I'd love to get mine to display 4 tables without overlap (there's not a lot of overlap now). Mine is widescreen as well, just not the resolution of yours.
