hosshughes 0
First post here..Thought I'd throw this one out here since it happened this morning.$5 SNG on UBBlinds: 50-100 Down to 7-handedI'm sitting on 1600 in chips, strangly enough good for 3rd place even though starting stack was 1500.On the button with QQ. 3 callers. Pot is 450. I make it 750 to go because of so many limpers. Blinds fold. UTG calls. Everyone else folds. Pot is now 1850.UTG is 2nd in chips, so I'm determined to not get married to my hand if an ace or king flops. If no ace or king, then I'm making my stand here.Flop comes 8 5 5 rainbow. UTG checks, I go all-in for 850, and immediately get called. He flips over A4o. I'm stunned. I'm even more stunned when he turns an ace and knocks me out.Fire away. I'll be wary of the newbie flames. speedz99 145
Yeah...that's a terrible call on his end. Welcome.
Oziumrules 0
He is a lucky jag-off...you played it right, but unfortunately playing perfect poker doesnt guarantee winning poker!
troyomac 0
i've heard it said that poker is a game of decisions, not of results...you will usually win that hand, and trust me you will say many more bad beats even grosser than that.
jdwilli09 0
i was in a situation almost exactly like that except I had aces, and I was up against the same A4o and he caught runner runner 4's, I made fifth though in a 3 table, so at least i had that going for me, which isnt bad. jdwilli09 0
were you talking to me don? or the original post?
Elpedro 0
You just got unlucky - a good player would lay that ace hand down. That's the problem with playing the $5 sit and go's. If you can take the suck outs every once in a while then you're okay and should make money in the long run.
mbreon 0
Just a case of the cards not turning your way. Not a whole lot you can do. Move on to the next tourney .
jdwilli09 0
yeah, I was just happy it happened after I at least reached money, Id rather take a bad beat in the money or to go out first than on the bubble.

PokerFan 0
I think the saying goes "Get your money in with the best hand" in the long run its suppose to make you money, even thou it does'nt seem that way.
jack24bauer24 0
I'm surprised there hasn't been a "fold QQ and wait for K3" post yet.I hate k3.May it rot in the eternal pits of hell of the poker forum underworld.Or for you Star Wars fans, in the pit of Tarkoon by the all mighty Sarlaac. lboarts 0
The only thing you might've done wrong here is close the table before putiing a note on his donkey azz.
SAM_Hard8 50
Bad beat, break a few things, bang your head against the wall or whatever makes you feel better. But, don't forget to write his name down. Guys like that will make you a lot of money.

semaj550 0
No discussion to be had. You did what you had to do, he got lucky. Move on to the next one.As very tough as it is to do this after getting beat in such a crappy way it's all you can do.Tournament poker is about picking the best spots to get your chips in and there aren't many better than having a guy drawing to 3 outs.Learn to deal with that sick/pissed off feeling and start a new sit and go. This is an important part of being a winning tournament player, a very important one.
GWCGWC 83
UB, Stars, Party.....ect. are all rigged. You were set up and you will be set up again. What happened to to OP happens to me everyday. No worries. I don't make a note everytime my overpair holds up after the flop when I'm way ahead. If I did make a note, I'm sure it would be easier to absorb. Here's what is so sick. The guy who called the all in after the flop may have seen an opportunity to knock another player out. That kind of player is your friend and will lose way more than he/she will win.I hate jj, qq, kk aa, or any premium hand that gets beat, JJ is a stretch here. All you can do is try to get your chips in with the best hand. If you could see the other players cards, would you want them to call? Yes.P.S. Many casino's are rigged. The dealers are all card machanics that can create situations that are truly unbelievable. sick sick sick...f'n poker!
