http://politifact.com/truth-o-meter/articl...agra-rand-paul/'Barely true', on that site, when referring to a claim against a liberal means "absolutely true" in normal human standards.
lol, sure it does. It was a last minute amendment meant to try and derail healthcare. Do you seriously think Harry Reid wants to give Viagra to convicted felons? That's about as believable as Rand Paul believing in an Aqua Buddha. The actual context:"So how accurate is Angle's charge? The ad implies that Reid actively wanted to give subsidized Viagra to sex offenders, but that isn't the case. First, what Reid actually did was vote against an amendment that would have stopped using taxpayer dollars for that purpose. Second, Senate Democrats made it clear at the time that they were not voting on the merits of the amendment, but rather to salvage their bigger legislative priority, the health care bill itself. Finally, Reid didn't actively bring up this issue; it was proposed by a senator opposed to the broader health care bill."Senator Coburn specifically brought up this amendment knowing it could either help sink health care or it could give GOPers something to make a 30 second ad out of during this election and make it sound nefarious. Politics!

Which is exactly the point Juan was making. Not that NPR really gave a shit about what he was saying. They are in the middle of a big pledge drive. This was done to give a boost to that effort.
There pledge drive must have worked, George Soros donated $1.8 million for more NPR 'reporters' just before NPR fired Juan.I'm sure it was a coincident

I don't think he's upset. Fox News just gave him a shiny new contract for 3 years and $2 million.....maybe it was a stunt?
His response.By the way, I saw that article from Jason Whitlock's tweets:Doing the damn thang does not accurately convey what Juan Williams did here http://fxn.ws/asWPKF he did the mofo-ing thang! F- what u heard 16 minutes ago via Echofon Juan Williams column linked n previous tweet brought tears to my eyes. NPR straight chin-checked. Williams went helmet2helmet on they ass. 7 minutes ago via Echofon Whitlock is awesome.

Whitlock is awesome.
Lol, Whitlock is a clown. If that's how Williams feels, then so be it. I just find it interesting that within days of NPR firing him, he got so much money from Fox to be their token Democrat.

1. If you aren't joking about Whitlock, then you're an idiot. Whitlock is great.2. Don't be stupid. A monkey would have predicted Fox News hiring Juan. The second he got fired for saying something on Fox, I said to myself, "over/under on Fox hiring him within 24 hours". I took the under with myself and lost. Dammit.Fox News would not have hired him if he wouldn't have been fired by NPR. He's a regular on Fox. Why not hire him any other time he was on? How the hell do you think Fox forced NPR to fire him? Do you think Bush snuck into the NPR office and sent an email to Juan? Fox is run by some of the smartest people in the country. News Corp knows what they're doing. They know that 1) He was fired for saying something anti-muslim on their station 2) Their demographic doesn't like Muslims 3) Their demographic hates NPR 4) We need to hire this guy immediately.

[mumbles something about catching flies with vinegar]
In my defense, I gave him an out on the stupid part. He might have been joking.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/10/21...-juan-williams/^^ this is where you and your conspiracy theories should be pointing. NPR CEO says "profoundly sorry that this happened during fundraiser week". Yeah right, I'll bet you're just devastated.

Wait. I'm the idiot? There's plenty more, but that seems like enough to make my point.

Uh...because I don't? I think Fox looked at the situation and thought, "This guy deserves at least $2 million to work for us!" They could've continued his role as a correspondent, but instead they guarantee him work for the next 3 years. Interesting, wrong, and ridiculous (in my opinion), but not a conspiracy.

What is so "wrong, and ridiculous" about it?

In my liberal opinion, what he said was borne out of bigotry and stereotyping. And I'm obviously not the only one that believes that. So, using this logic, within a few days of him making a questionably bigoted comment, a network that swears to everyone they're unbiased and journalistic gives this man a promotion for 3 years and $2 million. Obviously if you think there's nothing wrong with what he said you're not going to agree with this. I just don't think being fired for a questionable comment is deserving of a promotion.

I think what he said was idiotic and that NPR should have fired him for being an idiot, not a bigot. Any terrorist who wears full Muslim regalia to try and blow up a plane is a moron. His thoughts or "personal feelings "made no logical sense. He will fit in perfectly at Fox News with that going for him.

Well in a similar opinion, I know when I walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery, then look around and see somebody white, I feel relieved. And when I look at Obama, I think: "a few years ago he would be getting me coffee"Does that make me racist?

The 2nd one kinda does. The first thought is based on statistics (more crime is committed by blacks "per capita" in America), the 2nd is based on bigotry. Doubt your serious though.

Underestimating the enemy is foolish; their ultimate ideology and goals are seriously flawed but their tactics are not so dumb.

When did they start allowing Nigerians to serve coffee? Mine's always been served by hipsters and high-schoolers.

Uh...let's not go sucking suicide bombers' dicks just yet for their tactics. The willingness to take one's own life along with others' can't really be called anything but dumb. It may be effective in creating an atmosphere of terror, but that doesn't mean it's intelligent.

bigotry and stereotyping, are you serious? He didn't say people should be nervous, he didn't say he was right to be nervous, he was simply stating how it made him feel. So apparently it's bigoted to be honest and say how something makes you feel.

I agree with you that the best way to address the race issue is to pretend it doesn't happen. He totally should not have said his visceral reaction is one thing and that it shows we need to take special care to not act upon these feelings that he knows are wrong.

Just because it's his opinion doesn't make it ok. If it were my opinion that anyone who wears a cross around their neck was probably a terrorist, it wouldn't make me any less wrong just because I'm not saying other people should feel that way.

Regardless, he's a Muslim. And we don't let Muslims anywhere near our coffee - I have no idea if he's giving me sweetener or anthrax.
Is your point that he makes fun of fat people while also being fat?
No. My point is that he's a clown, as stated above.

wasn't an opinion it was an honest statement of his feelings and nowhere did he say those feelings were OK.
